Tongue & CheekCool space, amazing foodJamie DeRosa is creating some amazing food in this beautiful space. This was my second visit and I had the oysters, pan con tomato, salt cod fritters, almonds, olives, pata negra, Brussels, and a special Branzino.
Last time I had the beef cheek burger..... you must try it... If you are luck as he only makes 15 a day.
Patty was my server for the second time and was wonderful!
We didn't have room for desserts this time... But last time out party sampled most of them and they were all delicious. The matcha tea sponge cake was sooooo good.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in south beach !!My second visit to this new restaurant and just as fantastic as the first time. Food is awesome. Trout was cooked to perfection. My companion had the ribeye- cooked to perfection, my other companion had the scallops - again cooked to perfection. Can't wait for my third visit!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA true adventure in dinning!Tongue and cheek is a great new restaurant with a unique dinning experience. From the snacks to the mid size dishes, it is a great place to bring a group of people to experience creative cuisine at its finest. And if you are not big on adventure then things like burgers, fried chicken, and meatballs will soothe the soul! Cocktails are just as fun and playful as the food!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Burger is KINGI have loved every dish I have tried in my three visits to Tongue and Cheek. However, the burger is one of the best I have ever eaten, Get there early, because only 15 are made each day.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food but small portionsThe meals we ordered were all delicious. We tried the scallops, the ribeye beef "cap," the trout and the pork belly. The portions were a bit on the small side for the price. The desserts were good but not all that sweet. The camembert cheesecake was interesting but I was hoping for something sweeter. The ambiance is great and service was also good. I would definitely come back to eat at the bar for their daily $10 specials.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AManother awesome dinnerMy wife and I were here for a second time and it was better than the first. The fried chicken was awesome. It was served with this Tabasco hollandaise that I'm still thinking about. Wow! I ordered the green beans again which are ethereal. For dessert I had the popsicle which is rich and delicious. I had one of my favorite beers, Leffe, and was in and out in less than an hour. The restaurant is so pretty and sitting on the patio was a great way to people watch the sobe craziness. What a great Sunday dinner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food & Service AwaitsWonderful dining experience on my birthday. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The chef sent a selection of lite bites to perk up our taste buds(mussels were great). We had the Scallop, Prime Beef and Friend Chicken entrees. All three were tasty and satisfying. The dessert sampler sent out for my birthday was very nice. I like the pudding pop best. They have a great selection of wines by the glass and bottle. I will be back.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Chef Driven Food on SobeFantastic Food, Well Maintained service and the actual space is gorgeous. Everything we had was extraordinary. Our tables favorites were the veal tartare, chicken skins, cauliflower panna cotta and the burger is just insane! Every bite better than the last. This is a true gem in south beach. Cant wait to go back.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome new spot! Feels aAwesome new spot! Feels a little bit like restaurants in lower manhattan. Good foodie spot.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy 1st time at Tongue & CheekMy 1st time at Tongue & Cheek and I loved it. There seemed to be a void in sobe for a restaurant like this. T&C has serious food but doesn't take themselves too seriously, really friendly and attentive service, great lighting and decor. They have a cauliflower panna cotta with uni & caviar on the same menu with fish and chips in a red basket you'd find at the beach. FUN! The small plates are a great way to try a few bites...we had the olives and chicken liver glazed with locally sourced honey (amazing)and the entrees are definitely full-sized. We had the fried clams as a mid course, the ridiculously great beef cheek burger & spaghetti and meatballs as mains, a great bourbon whiskey sour, an amazing modern drumstick popsicle dessert. wow!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good start !So we decided with my girlfriend to go there for the official opening night yesterday after finding the place on OpenTable (Monday April, 15th), and I must admit we were both really surprised about the amazing food we ordered.
Very nice presentation of the food and very good taste were part of every course we tried. Being both from France, we particularly appreciated the fact that the duck liver pate and the steak tartare were so close to the actual French products.
Yesterday was quiet but this place needs to be known !4/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
