Tommy LasagnaFriendly and good foodHad my first dining experience at Tommy's last night and it was quite enjoyable. It was approaching closing time but the staff greeted us warmly and made no efforts to rush us. Our waiter was helpful and friendly, although I found the use of the IPads for taking dining orders seemed to be more of a hindrance than a help! Our party of 6 enjoyed the rice balls and mussels as appetizers. We had a variety of entrees but only one of the signature lasagnas---the spicy sausage, which was cooked perfectly and reasonably sized (although a bit pricy). My son loved the crispy chicken but my daughter found the linguini in clam sauce to be okay but nothing special. Also a very nice selection of wine and drinks. The salads were excellent, especially the arugula and beets.
We felt the lasagna was a must for this first experience but want to try other entrees in the future.
We had the lasagna with bolognese, the mushroom and truffle lasagna, and the sausage lasagna.
Enjoyed it all thoroughly. My friend and I shared the rice balls appetizer and it was perfect. Crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and came with an amazing tomato sauce dip. For entrees, I picked the Mezzaluna pasta and it was incredible!! The handmade pasta was delicate and filled with different types of cheeses. My friend went for the Lasagna Tasting and tried Tommy Lasagna, the Truffle Lasagna, and the Nonna. Each was amazing, but of course, the Truffle was the best. So rich! Tommy -- who is charming and gracious -- was flexible and welcoming. Have been back for dinner several times. Home made pastas, desserts, great antipasto and apps.
