Tommy Bahama's Restaurant & Bar - SarasotaMother's Day DinnerOur group of seven had a very nice Mother's Day dinner at Tommy Bahama's restaurant on 5/12/13. We had three children in our group, and they really enjoyed their meals. The kids' menu had a little more than just the regular kid items they normally have to choose from, and all of their drinks and food came out with decorations they absolutely loved. When the kids are happy and having a good time, it makes a meal out a much more pleasant experience. Our waiter was very attentive. Food was very good. Drinks were great. A nice level of background music was playing. We requested a table by the window, which they accommodated. They had a special Brunch menu, along with their regular menu. Everything was delicious; very generous portions. The only disappointment was the fact that we couldn't order mimosas or other bar drinks until after 12pm on Sunday (our brunch was at 11am) but this was due to the county restrictions; not much the restaurant could do about it, except maybe not open their doors until 12pm to avoid confusion. Group of 8. Server, Genie, was fast, professional, and friendly. One client needed vegetarian meal...no problem. Others had from swordfish to snapper, with the macadamia nut snapper being a huge hit.
Location is also great as we walked off the great meal by taking our visitors for a stroll around St. Armand's Circle after dinner.

Between the 4 of us we had the Bungalo salad, The Swordfish special, the Snapper and Coconut Shrimp. It was ALL delicious. Our server was waiting inside and outside so was not very attentive. It's our go to when visitors arrive to our place on Siesta Key. We love this restaurant!! The food and service is wonderful. This last time we did however get a server, who I would rate as a C or maybe even a D. Whilst other's might be better value or have bigger menus these guys just make it such a comfortable experience you want to go back every time. We've developed this love for Tommys over some 15 years and are gratified that our 9 year old twins Josh and Sophie feel exactly the same. It's the first restaurant we go to. We've all got our favourite dishes I of course love the steaks and the full (and I mean FULL) rack of ribs, but the shrimps and scallops, stuffed chicken, crab cakes, coconut shrimp, in fact every dish would be a top meal anywhere. There were many families and high noise level. We had 6 in our group and all enjoyed their dinners. Our waitress was attentive despite the mildly chaotic atmosphere. We have dined at Tommy's several times and have never been disappointed in the food. Made a reservation and ended up having to sit in a high traffic area of the bar. Was really happy having to have a $100 dinner for two people sitting at a table in the bar.
