Diner Reviews
  • "We usually love the Tomato Grill, but our last meal was so-so at best. The stuffed trout (which was supposed to be stuffed with spinach and goat cheese) had a measly 2 or 3 leafs of spinach, way too much goat cheese and no taste. The vegetables were all yellow in color with the exception of one tomato and one 2" piece of asparagus. Our server did not seem to care about how we liked or did not like our meals. If this had been my first meal at the Tomato Grill, it would be my last. Because we have had great experiences before and great servers, we will try again, but I am not anxious to go back."

  • "This was my fourth time for lunch here with my friends. We like to go here for our ladies day out. The food is outstanding! Loved the Veal Oscar and the chicken Scalapini. Salads and soups are great. Very generous portions. Everything we have every ordered has been wonderful. Good prompt service."

  • "We have eaten there before, many times. Our waitress was ok, alittle slow. I ordered the same dish that I have eaten so many times. The Alfredo was so salty, not too hot and did not taste fresh."

  • "We enjoy going to Tomato Grill in Hudson; the food is always good, the wait staff is friendly and knows their menu, the interior space is well designed and has a nice ambiance. But, they consistently always have a problem sitting us at a table within reasonable time of our reservation. We just waited 35 minutes for our table on Saturday night; the couple we were with had a similar problem a couple of years earlier and will not go back to Tomato Grill again. I have decided the hostess must be a family member....she has a bit of an attitude and has been there for awhile."

  • "Our group of international guests were very pleased with their dining experience, sampling many appetizers as well as their meals! As a local resident, I was excited to show them one of the best places to eat in my hometown!"

  • "Food was good....I had a BLT chicken wrap and it had more lettuce than chicken, so was not the best."

  • "Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious from the sausage/pepper appetizer to the veal with crabmeat entrée. The portions were generous. To top off the great dinner, we lucked out with a free community concert at the gazebo on the square. Definitely going on our out to dinner rotation."

  • "We're regulars and enjoy the food and the ambiance. We had a very tasty meal with friends who were first time diners who also remarked on the quality taste of dinner. Prices are in the moderate range and service is friendly and efficient."

  • "We have never had a bad dish here. This time, between the 3 of us, we had chicken parm, fried mozzarella, acorn squash bisque, baked lasagna, baked ravioli, and a side of gnocchi. Everything was tasty and very well done - although the fried mozzarella was OUTSTANDING! We left feeling over-stuffed and content."

  • "This was our first time. Out for our anniversary. Would recommend this for any occasion. Food was fantastic. Our waitress was great!"

  • "Impressed with the follow up phone call before our arrival. Seated immediately and water already at our seats. Prompt service and delicious food."

  • "Every year we eat some place in Hudson after one of the Art shows at Boston Mills. Tomato Grill was one of the choices on Open Table and we liked their menu so gave them a try. I had the Steak and Asparagus salad. They were very accommodating in allowing me to switch the Gorgonzola for the Goat Cheese. From the warm veggies to the succulently prepared steak, it was wonderful. My wife had a side salad that was huge, in comparison to other side salads and a very tasty vegetable pizza. We were treated very well and will definitely try them again. Side Note: To those who miss Heather's Heat at Legacy Village, there is one next door to them at their First & Main Location."

  • "Lovely little restaurant in beautiful Hudson. The waiter was very attentive but not rushing us since we were 3 old friends catching up on life"

  • "Ordered the chicken Marsala. Three small pieces for $17. Everything was a la carte. Chicken was tough and dry. Waitress never came by to ask how the food was. Not a good value for the money. Will not go back."

  • "My third visit did not disappoint. As usual the food is top notch and the service was great. I hope to go back soon because there is more I want to try"

  • "The atmosphere at the Tomato Grill is friendly and bright. It is a restaurant that is kid friendly, and I often see families eating there with young children. The food is hit or miss, I have had some good dishes there, and some just average dishes. The house wines are usually good selections, and the dinner specials are often worth paying attention too."

  • "as always, good, consistent food - server seemed bothered by us - i.e. like she was doing us a favor to serve us and the place was not at all busy while we were there"

  • "Went with work colleagues; two of whom eat here often. Portions were good. Disappointed at the end when asked to speak with a manager to thank them for their business and was given surly responses and that no one was available..."

  • "We enjoyed our first visit to Tomato Grill. They used the freshest ingredients and we had excellent service."

  • "We recently celebrated our anniversary at the Tomato Grill, and we had a great experience. I ordered the shrimp piccata, as I have in the past, and it was wonderful. My husband enjoyed the filet mignon, perfectly cooked and served with roasted potatoes. The service was friendly and efficient. The Tomato Grill is our favorite special occasion restaurant, and we frequently take out of town guests there as well. We have never had a bad experience, and on the one occasion that I ordered something that was too spicy for me, we were not charged for it at all, even though it was my own fault. For dessert I always order the gluten free chocolate raspberry cake, which is superb. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We went to Tomato Grill to celebrate our mom for Mother's Day. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! Love the seared salmon with pesto gnocchi! We generally order 5 apps and share - they are so delicious! My only criticism is the bruschetta - which are always a bit dry. We usually pour the balsamic dip offered with the bread over the bruschetta. "

  • "My wife and I hosted our visiting niece for dinner at the Tomato Grill on a Wednesday evening. It was crowded but no to capacity. No waiting for out table. The trout was excellent, as was my wife's chicken dish. Our niece has two chef's in the family and she enjoyed it too."

  • "My family is looking into moving into the Hudson area, so after driving around, we decided to have dinner here. The food is very good and nice sized portions. The house wine was also good. Our server, Mike, was very friendly and happy to please. The only real fault I noticed was that the curved lights on the wall were very dusty and could use to be wiped down."

  • "Very accommodating for a group of 8 last minute. Service was incredible! I wish I remembered her name. Food was very good. A little pricy for the portions & ambiance. All in all I would definitely recommend"

  • "I have just started a gluten-free lifestyle and had my first bowl of gluten-free pasta at Tomato Grill. If I hadn't known it was GF, I wouldn't have guessed. The food was delicious. Service was a bit slow despite the fact we were eating late, but our server was pleasant. Overall, it was a good experience."

  • "The Ap of smoked salmon crostini was delicious and just the right amount to share. We all had salads and the best one was the Roasted beet and feta salad. I had rack of lamb, that had a reduction red wine sauce and was sprinkled with crushed cashews, yum. Other choices were Pasta and sausage, Pasta with mushroom red sauce,Seafood (Fruiti d Mar) and a Chicken with pasta. All loved their dishes. Service was terrific. It was a busy Saturday night, but we never felt rushed or neglected."

  • "Have been to this Tomato Grill many times, never disappointed. The taste is fresh, tasty and not overwhelming I like their seafood and pasta; can't go wrong with any combination. The desert is just fantastic. Great food and really reasonable prices."

  • "We love this restaurant but this past Saturday we arrived with our party of 6 and we had 7:30 p.m. reservations and we had to stand and wait for our table until 8:15. We found that people off the street had been seated and our reservations meant nothing to this restaurant."

  • "We had a nice night out for my husband's birthday. It was very cold outside and the temperature inside was pretty chilly as well, which made it a little uncomfortable. The food and service were great-no complaints at all on that, just could have used more heat in the place. Anything made with their red sauce is very tasty!!"

  • "We went here for Valentines Day. We both enjoyed a martini, both of which were very strong. I freaking LOVE the herb crusted goat cheese! My husband, again, got the linguini and clams which he really loved. This time there was more prosciutto which he didn't like as much but overall, it was still a tasty dish. I got the eggplant parm. It does not come with pasta but a TON of eggplant. It was okay. I've had better...but I regretted not getting something else. The service was much better than the last time we were there on New Year's Eve. We will certainly return!"
