Tomasso TrattoriaGreat experienceOn the expensive side, as expected, but delicious, fresh food and mostly locally-grown. Our kids also enjoyed it, and there is a kids' menu.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is amazing-This restaurant is amazing- the food is not only delicious, but also locally sustainably/humane sourced. This restaurant is romantic, warm and welcoming. My husband and I go here on date-nights and with our baby for brunch. Its great!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerExcellent service and food. My wife and I love the place.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFriday night dinnerWe started off with selecting a nice Piedmont red, the wine special for the evening. It was very nice. For food we shared olives and the calamari with ink pasta first plate. The olives were outstanding (plenty of garlic), and the pasta dish was delicious (the calamari was fresh, tender and tasty).
My wife had the char for dinner. The first was presented nicely. She gave me a taste and I found it full of flavor. The bed of spinach that accompanied the dish was done to a turn.
I had the Colorado lamb over a chilled Fregola salad. The lamb was just a bit too rare (I asked for rare, and it was a bit blue. But the dish was well matched, and very tasty.
Overall, our first experience to Tomasso's was very good, and we will be back.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect as alwaysI love this restaurant. We went to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. They spoiled us. Thank you6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMdeeeeelissshhhhhus! As always, Tomasso's delivers - another excellent meal and wonderful service - nice ambience - the food is so unique and delicious, menu changes often - just love this place6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMolto benneWe were entertaining guests and it was a big hit ! They loved the antipasti - every item had it's own very distinct taste ( the way it's intended ) salads were dressed properlyu and the the entire meal was excellent !5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and ServiceOur food was great, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgable about the food and wine and gave some wonderful recommendations! Even though this restaurant is not near our home we will definately return and recommend to others.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in Ruff! This little hole in the wall is a beautiful little place for very special occations! Great for anyone who enjoys getting local and fresh Italian food that changes weekly depending on season and what's fresh. Pasts all made on site, +page wine list, and excellent food!! This place is not good for large crowds unless you pre-book their private dining option. Otherwise 6 people is tops!really meant for small parties looking for a special night!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMnot your average italian GiovanniSurprising original Italian cuisine. Fresh ingredients, flavorful erbs and interestng dishes. Friendly service and an overall pleasant experience.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall portionsThe food is wonderful - however the portion of the pasta dish I had was quite small - I would think they could have two sizes one for an app and one for a dinner portion. Otherwise everything is always delicious.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFamily DinnerThe appetizers, primi, secondi, and contorni were wonderful but the desserts weren't up to par. The panna cotta was rubbery and the espresso gelato was freezer burnt.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of the 'BurbsTomasso consistently presents authentic Italian cuisine, with classy (but not stuffy) service. Boston quality here in Central Massachusetts.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service!Have eaten here before and the food was terrific. This mother's day was the first I ate brunch here. though.
It was fantastic. Great experience!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a last minute, lastWe had a last minute, last night dinner here. Food quality is quite high. The salad with the tile fish was superb, lightly dressed and overal a lovely later dinner. Calamari was delicious though the portion was modest. Good mixed drink. I was a bit concerned with some less than stellar reviews, but if we would not hesitate to return.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service good foodThe service at Tomasso was excellent. Our waitress was very knowlegeable. We were seated right away and everyone was very efficient and extremely nice. We chose the Antipasta dish for our appetizer and that unfortunatley was very salty and disspointing. Otherwise all three of the pasta dishes and the chicken were excellent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMfood, accommodating, will revisitAwesome food. Very accommodating to my needs. Will revisit.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second experienceThis was our second experience at Tomasso Trattoria and like the first, we weren't disappointed. The food and service were first rate-would recommend it to anyone for special occasions.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but hard to be heardOur dinner was great but the clams in the spaghetti vongole were very gritty which made it less than pleasant to eat, where they should have been the highpoint of the dish. The tagliatelle bolognese was fabulous, so was the flourless chocolate torte.
The biggest problem we had was the noise level at the restaurant. It was very hard to talk and considering there were just two of us seated across from one another, that should NOT be the case. That makes it difficult to want to come back. It's not inexpensive to go out to dinner and then to be unable to hold a conversation -- why bother?4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFavoriteI've been here for dinner and brunch... Dinner was great but brunch was amazing! I've tried 4 different meals at brunch between my wife and I... Loved it all.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was amazing as always!Food was amazing as always! Love how the menu is always changing, never have had the same thing twice!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant with an excellentGreat restaurant with an excellent Chef. What makes it even better is the food they use is raised humanely/sustainable.
Great place - wonderful food!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been wanting to go butI've been wanting to go but heard dinner was too pricey. Discovered that brunch is great and a reasonably priced menu for it too. Nice ambience, plenty of room, not back to back tables and chairs etc.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my third time atThis was my third time at Tomasso's and just as good as the previous two. We went for Easter brunch - the menu was reasonably priced and the food was fresh and perfectly prepared. The service was attentive and friendly. This place is a gem!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Tomasso TrattoriaI have been to Tomasso Trattoria a few times now, and have had a wonderful experience each time. I had my engagement brunch of about 35 people, about a year ago. They were so accommodating and made sure everyone had a wonderful meal.
Most recently I visited the restaurant for dinner. The food was spectacular and so fresh. There is an expansive wine list and an ever changing menu.
This restaurant is great for large groups as well as a romantic date night. I would definitely recommend Tomasso Trattoria to anyone!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, service wasExcellent food, service was attentive however we were 1st flight of diners at 5:30 on a Saturday. Presentation was outstanding. Wine list carried few familiar names but our recommended choice was reasonable and terrific. On the flip side, the selection of entre's was a bit limited and all sides were al a carte, which made the tab a bit pricey, even tho we had no dessert. Nonetheless, for the right event, it fits the bill and does not disappoint familiar diners.
.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTomasso prides itself on cuisineTomasso prides itself on cuisine from Italy (this is not American Italian food) that is made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. And so they should be proud. The freshness of the ingredients shows in how delicious every dish was. The kitchen is open, so you can see what's being made. The staff were accommodating, courteous and friendly. The wine list is predominantly filled with labels from Italy [good! It's an Italian restaurant!] The place is also family- and kid-friendly. Highly recommended.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been many times previouslyWe have been many times previously and loved it - our latest experience was not close to the other experiences. 2 members of our party ordered a fish special and both found it inedible and returned it. Was as if the fish was old - surprising as normally specials are particularly fresh. Our waiter handled this flawlessly (have had him before and he is great) - took them away and the replacement orders were fine (as were the orders of the other 2 members of our party). He was apologetic - didn't charge us for them and "comped" 2 deserts.
The remainder of our meals/experience was terific, but am concerned that the quality may be slipping in what had been one of our favorite special occasioon spot3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways excellent! We wereAlways excellent! We were entertaining an out of town guest and, as always, simply delighted by the food and service. I can't say enough good things about the creativity, presentation, taste and brilliance of the food. The service was excellent and our server Jonice always knows the right wine to bring us.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHave eaten there several timesHave eaten there several times and it is consistently great! The menu is constantly updated with local, fresh, in-season ingredients used in preparation of traditional Italian dishes. A real gem!3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNice midway pointThis was our 2nd time at Tomassos's. We live close to Boston. I'm always looking for a good meal in the suburbs to change things up. Tomassos's was a nice midway point between Worcester and Boston.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBEST GNOCCHI EVER!This, my first visit, was positive. The gnocchi were the lightest and best I ever had. The special Ahi and fennel was fabulous, great wine and panne cotta for dessert...superb. Don't bother with the overpriced mediocre Ceasar Salad, tho.
WHile it is a bit pricy for the burbs, it's a nice authentic Italian felling trattoria and the wait staff made it an even more enjoyable night out!2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely night out - unique menuLoved the cozy feel with the brick oven kitchen. Amazing wine list -- all seemed to be Italian which I am not familiar with but our server was able to recommend 2 different wines, 1 for me and 1 for my friend based on our preferences. They were very good. Loved the mixed greens salad -- I think it may have been watercress. It was simple but very flavorful with large shredded cheese (asiago?) and a light dressing. My meal was amazing - arctic char, which I had never had before. It was just as the server described: similar to salmon but less pungent. It had a crusty edge to it and was served over a braised escarole with a flavorful light sauce. Perfect dinner! We opted for tea after dinner. $55 each with tip2/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
