  • "Great food, nice wine store next door. Fresh bread with oil was great!"

  • "Everything was delicious, had not been in a while and it was a real treat. One of our guests had the grass fed - NY strip that was like butter, juicy and cooked to perfection. Appetizers to dessert was perfect. Can't wait to go back."

  • "Excellent Tuscany Italian dishes as well as excellent Italian wine list."

  • "We loved the food and the service was great, but the tables are really close together, so no privacy and noise levels get loud trying to talk over other diners. Try to ask for a table in the back room rather than in the center room."

  • "Tomassos is one of the only restaurants in our town but thankfully, we go there because it is good, not just convenient. However, last night Tomassos just did not rise to its normally high standards. The Arancini was a bit soggy, and 2 out of the 3 Ricotta Gnudi were burnt (though nice try at hiding the burnt part toward the plate). Our server was a bit more pushy than we felt appropriate. The Torta di Cioccolata and Mocha Budino saved the night, so intensely chocolately that it was impossible to finish-quite a statement considering it was girls night out. I am very much hoping that this was on off night & that Tomassos will continue to meet the high standards they have established for themselves and that we as patrons have come to expect."

  • "Living in the suburbs, it's difficult to find a NICE restaurant with great food/service. Something above a family restaurant. This is it. Food was very good, service outstanding. The bar was packed as well as the restaurant. We will absolutely make this place a regular jaunt. Rumors have long circulated that it's pricey. I would give it $$ out of $$$$. Reasonable. If you want a nice meal close to home.... This is it."

  • "It's not always a good thing when customers can see the interaction between the kitchen and the servers. In our case, we saw the kitchen place all four of the main courses for our table on the pickup counter. A server who had placed her order after ours picked up two of our entrees and took them to another table. When our server realized this, the two entrees that were ready were placed under heat lamps while the other orders were recooked. As a result, we all had to wait for our food and the two items that had been under the heat lamps were warm but not hot when they arrived. Our server was great, but seeing this disregard for customers and co-workers was not pleasant. Hence the 2 stars -- our server alone was worth 5."

  • "Excellent food. The only complaint I have is we felt that we were being rushed to get out of there. I will not recmmend it for a big group."

  • "We come from central Mass to visit Tomaso...delicious food, wine. Presentation of both was excellent. The welcome we got and the attentive, committed service we received was exceptional! Will absolutely go back and bring friends!"

  • "We were there on a Friday night. Very loud. Hard to carry on a conversation. Food us excellent although pricey."

  • "Food was really good - I had the scallops on cauliflower puree and it was yummy & perfectly cooked. We had a great server who knew the menu well and made great recommendations. Can't wait to return."

  • "This was a really fine restaurant, then the chef left and the new one was not up to the job. It is much better now, if not as good as it was at first. The wine list used to be international, it is now just Italian. I almost checked 'fit for foodies', 'hot spot', 'notable wine list', 'vibrant bar scene' and 'romantic'. It's close on all of these counts but not yet really there."

  • "Slow service, food served cold had to send it back, second time better but not hot just warm. Not sure what is going on as we have been in several times before and enjoyed the food but this time not a good experience. We'll not be coming back."

  • "the food was not wow i have to come back here and try the food again just decent. i would never come back and pay a fortunate for this meal ever again where the portions are small. the service from the server was exceptional."

  • "there were five of us for a birthday lunch. The server(s) were patient with us and with our questions and brought everything in a timely fashion by having more than one server. They were also patient as we lingered to share cards and a present. So it was really a perfect place for a birthday lunch. I had called before and they recommended making a later reservation (1 p.m) so that we wouldn't be holding up anyone else since lunch service ends at 2:30 (I think), though we were not at all hurried out. Really pleasant people and terrific food with some inventive recipes."

  • "I have eaten here many times and have always had delicious food. This time it was just OK. The service was terrific but the food disappointing. Old bread, cold stuffed cabbage, dry short rib , bland stuffed chicken and the pear sorbet and chocolate mousse aside ,desserts no better than any run of the mill eatery. Hopefully it was just a bad evening and they return to their previous high standard next time."

  • "My dear friend Bill and I choose this as a midway place - he comes from Worcester; I come from Boston (live in the suburbs). He has come to Tomasso a lot and recommended it, and now I too am a fan! The food is delicious, the service very good, the "ambience" is lively and lovely. The wine list is wonderful, and our waitress was very helpful, steering me towards a terrific, dry white wine from Tuscany. What's nice is when great friends can catch up over great food, be left alone (to the right amount) by the service for ease of conversations, and to leave feeling satiated in all ways. I would recommend Tomasso as indeed a gem in the western suburbs"

  • "This is our go-to restaurant in the area. It is an incredibly unique dining experience where you will taste something you have most likely never tasted before. The chef does an amazing job blending flavors creating incredibly savory dishes. We LOVE it!"

  • "I have made it a habit to hit Tomasso's with my 8 year old son after he has finished soccer practice. We love to sit at the "Chef's view" counter and interact with all of the prep Chefs and especially Michelle, the Chef du Cuisine. My son loves the fried calamari and he always has a pizza margherita. During this meal, I started with an excellent risotto soup and followed with the Tortellini al Forno. The gravy was very tasty and the tortellinis cooked perfectly. I like them done al forno since it seems to evaporate any liquid that may be in them. The service was once again excellent and the amount of attention to my son and making sure he eats properly and understands what he is eating is above and beyond."

  • "A friend of mine does some business with Tomasso, so he recommended I check it out. Once seated I was greeted by the GM, who sent regards from the owner. They then brought us out lovely selections I'm not even sure were on the menu! The wine the waitress suggested complemented our meal well enough that we ordered 2 bottles of it. The food was INCREDIBLE! We kept the menu on the table and worked through it until we just couldn't fit anymore. The primi selections were great, secondi even better, deserts were made with absolute attention to detail. I will be going back frequently. Well done!"

  • "Lately Tomasso has been impressive... the food excellent. I loved the steak dish but that's not on the current menu... so tried the "grilled heritage pork rack, garlic whipped potatoes with a sweet onion and Jack’s Abby Lager jus"... loved it. Everything our party of 6 had was good. Service, timing was nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

  • "That many of the appetizers - for us, arancini (rice balls) and ricotta fritta - arrive on plates of 3 remains frustrating, and not just to us. Most groups are in 2 or 4. So who loses out on a taste? Seriously Tom, if that fourth arancini at $8 is going to put you in the red, add a buck to it. Otherwise, another very nice meal. Grilled pork was flawless, the salmon unique and ricotta gnudi a great combination of flavors. Shortribs were a tad dry and lacked seasoning & flavor, perhaps caused by the size of the cut. Buccatini = amazing. Standard dessert menu has a star in the budino. Service very good, though I was constantly bumped by the staff serving/clearing the table next to us."

  • "Great food, as usual. The scallops were wonderful and i shared the beet salad which was small but delicious. It was extremely loud, yet a full house/quite busy. Our waitress was great but could have used a little help at times."

  • "I had to plan a work dinner for a few coworkers who have a wide variety of tastes/restrictions and everyone was able to find something they loved here!"

  • "Was very loud and difficult to talk or hear guests. Food ok but drinks not so much. after sending a drink back we were charged for it. Every time we try to come back, this kind of stuff happens. Unfortunate-could be a nice neighborhood place."

  • "I went there on a Monday night with a group of old friends. We stayed 3 hours and had a great time. The food was terrific and the wine list of Italian wines outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu. Granted it was a Monday night but we appreciated not being rushed. The place was fairly busy."

  • "Pasta was very good however, $26.00 for a dish is a bit much."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "Service was friendly and efficient. The appetizers were good to very good. The main courses were under cooked with a bland flavor. We go out occasionally to higher end restaurants such as Willies streak house, Romaines etc to enjoy an incredible meal. Tomasso did not meet that expectation. To be fair this was our first visit and may have been a bad night."

  • "I often take my business associates to Tomasso and have always had a great experience. My guests rave about the food and want to go back whenever they are in town on business. The food and service are consistently excellent."

  • "4-course dinner with each course as good as the last and all tasted great and well presented. The service was spot on, there when you needed them, but never hovering over you. My favorite place in Southborough to dine."

  • "...cool, relaxed atmosphere, friendly, smiling cast, great background tunage, and always a different seasonal menu... a suburbian fav..."

  • "This place is terrific, if you like thoughtful, innovative interesting food made with high quality ingredients - the value is superb. The appetizers are interesting variations on traditional themes - 'bruschetta' with caramlized turnips and pears (get it -it's gREAT!) - fritto calamari served in a wooden box from salt cod in an almost tempura like batter. pasta dishes are wodnerful - the carbonara has teh sauce inside little pasta sheets; the gnudi browned on a flat top. main courses we had included a wonderful fish stew with monkfish and a prosciutto wrapped chicken (this was a bit salty and strong, but very good). Service is wonderful - big hot open kitchen, lots of lively diners eating great food and sharing it. Loved it all!"

  • "If you do not wan tot go into the city and enjoy great upscale Italian food, this is the place. You can opt for the chefs view table and enjoy the kitchen view. They even gave us a few new apps to try. The chefs are busy but friendly and enjoy their work. The food is fresh, inventive, great wine selection and fun drink menu. One of the best in Metro West Melody"

  • "They have a limited menu but enough for everyone to choose something. The only comment we have is that the portions were small for cost of the meal."
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "overall good, novel dishes and changing menu, but with huge plates and smaller servings, we found most dishes too cold. Better plate heaters would do, as no microwaves were in use (you can watch the preparers do the cooking, which is quite nice)."

  • "Our first visit, and everything about it was superb. Service was a special plus. Location might not be ideal for some, but we drove 35 miles to get there, and it was more than worth the trip. And we'll go back."

  • "Had my birthday dinner here last week at my dad's recommendation. We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation; the hostess said she had just cancelled the reservation but had plenty of space for us. We were seated immediately. The place appeared very clean and was dimly lit. Our waitress seemed a little nervous or rushed, and we realized that the restaurant was closing at 10 instead of 11 as previously thought. We ordered quickly and the food was excellent (I highly recommend the wild boar ragu), except for the Monkfish ordered by one of the other diners, who seemed to think that the kitchen had substituted a cheaper fish instead. We were the last people in the restaurant and everyone was incredibly accommodating and patient."

  • "Tomasso's has been going through dynamic change. Fortunately a new Chef has really brought back a lot of what makes Tomasso's what it was. But with change in the air, new staff - there is a loss of chemistry and vibe that made regulars "feel at home". Chef Michelle's food is WONDERFUL - she makes KILLER calamari and she cooks with soul. On this visit, some of our dishes were off balance. The owner, has contacted us since. I hope they can get everyone dancing the tango as they used to. Its been a favorite go-to for years, I hope it gets back to what it has been."
