  • "Hadn't been to Todd Jurich's since we celebrated our daughter's graduation quite some years ago. We remembered that dinner as outstanding so wanted a repeat, but my husband and I were a little worried that it might not live up to our expectations. It did! I had an excellent dinner of crisp soft shell crab where the crab shone through, not overwhelmed by the breading; followed by perfectly cooked lamb chops. The attentive waiter brought me a moist napkin and lemon wedge because I did enjoy the bones! We were also able to purchase a couple of excellent bottles of wine directly from the restaurant at a reasonable price. It was a lovely, romantic but comfortable evening."

  • "Very nice upscale restaurant. Urban, professional location in a prime area without any of the typical urban access issues. Immediate valet service and immediate seating. Our romantic, well appointed seats were 40 feet from our car. Equally easy departure. Oh.. The food. Yes, the menu was moderate in size with about 70% seafood selections. My Wife's Fillet Mignon was perfect and my duck was excellent as well. Rounded out with a great gourmet dessert and expresso. The wait-staff, valet and manager/owner was very attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Great meal. We will be back."

  • "The food was good. I wouldn't say anything I had was worth going back for and I had been dying to try it out! I heard great things about the restaurant but was disappointed. I had the she-crab soup and there were quite a few shells; was not creamy; and didn't have more than 3 spoon-fulls of crab meat. There was also too much garnish (felt like I was eating OldBay and onion soup). I had the Mussel Special and there were two that were bad and I only received 10 mussels. The sauce was delicious but nothing was given to sop it up...served with french fries I was expecting a baguette again to sop up the white wine butter sauce which was really yummy.-even mentioned it to our waitress but she just laughed I might try ya'll again.."

  • "Restaurant week final day. Compared other restaurants, they have extra money menues. Even breads. Also their portion is petit. I went for my birthday dinner. They put tons of tiny navy stars at the center of the table. But it doesn't look special. I expected something like Ruth Chris and Byrd and Bawldwin, which made me disappointed to chose this restaurant for a special occasion. Their Sushi rice was hard non-sticky. Japanese people judge it was not cooked enough. Also not good quality. Crab soup didn't have much meat but bay leaves. Extra more than $10 scallop dish had only 3 scallops. Besides that, all good. I really like the sauces. Pretty interior. Great wine collection. The staffs are sweet."

  • "I took a group of my girlfriend, my mother and future mother in law here after a day of wedding dress shopping. It was during restaurant week, and on a Friday. Todd himself showed my moms to the table, and introduced himself. They provided us with a round table as requested in my reservation. All that aside however the food was simply outstanding! We even had an allergy concern after one meal was plated and they replaced it for us, and talked with us about food allergies with genuine concern. I was thoroughly impressed, and will be glad to return again!"

  • "Norfolk Restaurant Week fell about a week ahead of my birthday, so we decided to go to Todd Jurich's to celebrate. While I realize the restaurant was busy, we felt very rushed as soon as we were greeted by our waiter. He did relax a little after we ordered a $70 bottle of wine. I had checked out the menu online and there was supposed to have been a charcuterie board available, but we were informed that it was not being served that evening. Appetizers were very good. My entree left a bit to be desired. While my duck breast was cooked a nice medium rare, the leg was quite dry and the quinoa it was served over was very watery and bland. I was quite disappointed in this dish and very glad I was not paying full price."

  • "It was Norfolk's Restaurant Week so the menu for lunch was limited but it was also a great deal for $10. I ordered the salad which you could pick whatever you wanted to be added to the salad which was really great! Of course, my additions were well over $10 but I enjoyed it immensely. We came by boat and stayed at the Waterside Marina so this is a short walk from the marina and right across from the Museum. The restaurant did not have tourists but mostly business people but we were quite comfortable at lunch with our shorts and collared shirts."

  • "We had not been to Todd Jurich's in a while and our recent lunch will have us returning very soon. The soup, an iced gazpacho of pear, goat cheese and almonds, was the most unique soup I have had in a while and great for the summer. Between our group of three, we had the mozzarella stack, the soft shell crab entree, the calamari salad, truffle fries and the peach brown betty. Everything was delicious and I cannot go to Jurich's without ordering the truffle fries. Everything was lovely."

Located across the street from Nauticus good choice for business dinner but not up foodie challenge from Vintage Kitchen or Chartruese Bistro.   • "You can't go wrong with anything on the menu which changes weekly. The flounder and lump crab "Norfolk" is always excellent. If you're not a fan of noise, arrive after 7pm, especially on a Friday evening. Happy Hour ends at 7pm and the bar crowd often spills over into the main restaurant."

  • "Over the years I have been going to Todd Jurich's Bistro by myself or with groups up to 24. It is truly the best restaurant downtown, somewhat hidden across from the WISCONSIN. An attentive staff who offer excellent recommendations and help the non-oenophile with the perfect pairings. It is almost too difficult to choose from the delicious first plates made with the freshest sea food, and even harder to choose from the entrees that range from rabbit, to the best duck I've ever eaten to succulent Kobe beef. You cannot go just once, you will find something on the menu that will bring you back. "

The bar was hopping which brought the noise level up more than I would like, but maybe that's just us. Overall a very good experience and I can't wait to eat there again."

Followed that with roasted duck breast which was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgable about each entree and the wines. This restaurant is a real gem. "

  • "Stayed in Norfolk for a conference and found this great gem just a few blocks from our hotel. We liked it so much we came back the next night. First night we shared the roasted oysters and oysters on the half shell - both were divine!! For a main I had the scallops and my hubby had the softshell crab (a special that night). The scallops were some of the best I've had. The next night we shared the charcutterie - which I would recommend as a great dish to share - lots of food - almost too much for two - better for 3 or 4. Hubby had the rabbit - wonderful - no bones - very flavorful, and I had the flounder with crab - featuring a huge fillet of flounder topped (not stuffed) with delicious perfectly seasoned crab meat."

Except for the loud bar during Happy Hour ( which ended at 7:00 PM and quieted down after that) we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The coconut calamari was a hit and the oysters were fresh and tasty. My wife's salmon was "some of the best" she ever had and my daughters duck dish was superb. The roasted beets side dish was outstanding and don't miss the truffle fries!!! Our server recommended an excellent Chardonnay ( J Zvineyards ) so we had two bottles!! The coconut layer cake with the birthday candle topped it all off. Thank you Todd Jurich's for a wonderful dining experience."
