  • "We attended the Verterra Wine pairings dinner at Toasted Oak. Not only was the food spectacular, the paired wines were wonderful. This winery will definitely be on our list of places to visit very soon! The meals by Chef Brian and wines selected by Steven were delicious. The watermelon salad was my favorite, but my new favorite wine is the Reserve Red by Verterra. Couldn't have asked for a better evening out with my husband and good friends."

  • "My wife & I enjoyed the Sunday brunch offerings, including mimosas -------- very high end, but really worth it------- can't wait to do it again!"

  • "Toasted Oak used to be our favorite restaurant and it's sad to see the service and food decline. We made a reservation for 2 and when we arrrived, the hostess took 5 mins to seat us. She had an entire conversation with another employee at the host stand about where to put us and the fact that they didn't have enough wait staff. It made us feel unwelcome and set the tone for the meal. Once we were seated, it took 10 mins for a server to greet us and bring us water. From there, the entire meal service was slow and the staff seemed entirely disinterested in making the restaurant a welcome and inviting place."

  • "I love toasted oak. We are obsessed with the charcuterie and cheese, the market is adorable, and the servers use to be so knowledgable. That being said, I have no idea what's happening to my fave place. The last two servers I've had are dumb as dirt. Don't know the menu at all and can't suggest anything to us. The cornbread, a toasted oak staple, had the recipe changed and it now tastes like licking cardboard. Why are you changing a good thing? The charcuterie and cheese board... We use to love it. I'm fine with inflation, if a restaurant needs to make more money. But we ordered the same size board we have gotten for 3 years and it came out on a tiny michigan shaped cutting board, stuff falling off, no dipping sauce... So sad."

  • "Great food and service. The only thing is they lost our reservations."

  • "Went with friends from work. Plus a baby. Staff was very accommodating. Food is delicious - modern fusion cuisine. Great drinks. Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu."

  • "We were waited on promptly by friendly staff. We had a large party (8), but we weren't slow to make decisions. The full experience was two and half hours - well over an hour waiting for the entrees. Food was pretty good - several farm to table options. The waitress announced to the table that gratuity was included - and then took the opportunity to point out we could tip in addition to the 18% already included. I have hosted plenty of large dinners where gratuity was included, but cannot recall ever being reminded that I could exceed the included amount."

  • "Went to celebrate with my wife. Great drinks, very good food. Server could have been more on her game, but all around a good experience."

  • "This farm to table concept is outstandingly executed! The server was very attentive and knowledgible! The cocktails were good, don't miss the house made sausages. I can't see where you could go wrong here."

  • "Our waitress was very knowledgeable about how to handle wine which was much appreciated by my world-traveled guest. The food was absolutely delicious as it always is - very reliable high quality experience. The mussels were outstanding, and we tried the chicken artichoke pizza - so delicious too! Will come here again and again."

  • "This is the second time that I have been to toasted oak. The first time I was slightly disappointed and thought a return visit may quell my initial experience. It did not. Overall the atmosphere and food concepts are great. Unfortunately, the food itself leaves much to be desired. This go around I ordered the perch, and while nothing to brag home about, it definitely met the mark in terms of what I would consider a perch dinner, although a bit pricey at 20+ for fish and chips. We also ordered the beef tartar which was over salted and had an odd citrus flavor, unusual for the dish, and not in a good way. Overall, most of the dishes we ordered were not seasoned well and the price points were high."

  • "The new dinner menu is fantastic! Heirloom tomatoes and homemade mozzarella is a welcome addition to the summer menu. We had the grass fed Michigan beef loin and it was perfectly cooked. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and even suggested a nice bottle of wine. We will be back."

  • "Good food, reasonable prices, attentive service without intrusion, tolerant of leisurely diners. :-). Popular place so can be very noisy. Adjacent to major shopping mall."

  • "Has a great menu and good selection of wine and micro brews. Dont let the fact that it is connected to the hotel stop you, the scene inside the restaurant is great."

  • "The food options were very interesting and delivered on taste. All of the current trendy food cliches apply. We are already planning our next trip up for dinner, staying at the Baronette again, and planning on the morning brunch for the Sunrise Bar! The Ceasar Salad (with grilled romaine) was amazing and we enjoyed the cheese plate and lavendar honey so much, that we bought one of the cheeses and the lavendar honey the next morning."

  • "This was our third visited to Toasted Oak and we didn't that it met our expectations. The cheese board - while delicious - seemed skimpy. The salad was over dressed and the fish (three different types) wasn't well prepared. Sorry, but I won't be back."

  • "As a Novi resident, whenever I want to have a great experience, I go to the Toasted Oak. I asked for a quiet table and was surprised to be seated tucked nicely in the very corner, where I could have quiet conversation - rare in the city of Novi! The vibe is always sophisticated yet relaxed, and the food is consistently exquisite. Service prompt (John was great!) and food delivered much sooner than anticipated. The wine list is amazing! One of my all-time favorite Novi spots."

  • "Was very excited to go here as many people talk about it. It took about 20 minutes to get water when we arrived. I ordered an iced tea and it was so cloudy and tasted awful. Two of us had the filet, which was good but was smothered in sauce. The other two had the crusted fish and loved it. It was a night out with friends and we were not in a rush. We told the server this and he never even offered us dessert but all the tables around us had it. Overall disappointed but would still recommend for brunch or breakfast."

  • "We were in Novi for a meeting, and wanted to have a nice dinner. Very surprised at diverse menu and wine list...we'll be back!"

  • "Food was good but service was fair. Never saw our waiter from the time he took our order until he brought the bill back. Had to asked other wait staff for help."

  • "Nice place to visit for lunch. Dinner, not so much. Expensive for mediocre quality food. Mushrooms were over cooked as was our birthday guests fish dinner which was hard and dry around the edges. The Arugula Salad was excellent. Service was average and got slower as more guests arrived."

  • "We have been here three times now. The menu is unique with a foodie flair and the service is always great. I would recommend a cheese board and/or a charcuterie board. They have an awesome aged gouda that is brilliant and the best part is you can take some home from their market. Also, if you like the wine you had with dinner you can get a bottle to take home! I have eaten both the Porchetta and the Filet here. The filet was perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were spot on. The porchetta is very over the top and indulgent but if you are a pork lover it's a must try. The service is always great and their waitstaff is well educated, friendly and polite. Toasted Oak is definitely one of our favorite restaurants."

  • "I've dined here many times, always delighted and never disappointed. This time I wanted to introduce a friend, Joanna, to the Toasted Oak and to a wonderfully capable waitress who's made this place special for me, Andrea. Ask for her. You'll see what I mean. I ordered a simple meal, a small steak with a side of brussels sprouts. The red wine paring with its complex flavors put finish to every bite. "

  • "Even thou the menu has changed and some dishes have moved to the lunch menu they were still willing to cook up our request off either menu. The cheese sampler was really good all 6 of us agreed not one bad bite. The sausage sampler was not as pleasing the sausage was good just not as flavorful as we liked. Out of 6, 2 has the burger and 4 had the filet. Burgers on a pretzel bun with fries you cant go wrong, we had two that really enjoyed the steak, one that did not care for the sauce that was all over it and one that just didn't care for it period. All in all we were happy and would go back again and service was great."

  • "Yummy food. Service was slow to start took about 10 minutes for the table to be approached. After the orders were taken the food arrived quickly and I really enjoyed the make your own mimosa or cesar bar."

  • "A favorite meeting place for brunch - and will continue to be. Eggs Benedict, served on generous slabs of excellent sourdough bread rather than the usual English muffins, came with potatoes rather than a green vegetable - which seemed a starch overkill. They likely would have substituted, had I asked, but I didn't notice the menu change from their past Eggs Benedict. :-("

  • "We had dinner Saturday night and drove 30 minutes to get there but it was worth it. Got the Kielbasa with the yelp check in and it was great. We also got the charcuterie board, pickled beet salad (so many pistachios!), and the porchetta. We've had a bad experience with porchetta before but this was much better, but not sure I'd get it again. The cocktails were great...had the Woodward with bacon-infused Woodford Reserve and their take on an old fashioned. We got the oatmeal skillet cookie which was amazing too. Wish we had discovered this place earlier!"

  • "My girlfriend and I went there for our anniversary and it was an absolutely amazing night. I had the cornflake perch and it was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend had the filet and it wasn't cooked exactly to the correct temperature but at it anyway. The service was great and they even gave us a free desert for our anniversary. "

  • "Menu options include locally made sausages, the signature porchetta and several local fish options. Desserts are ambitious, including beingnets and crepes. There is a good choice of local craft beers. Everything we had was excellent. This is one of the best dining choices in this area."

  • "great spot for breakfast/brunch. we go to toasted oak a lot and were worried there would be a drop off after the original chef left. however the current kitchen staff seem to have found themselves and our lst few experiences have been top notch. the hazelnut french toast was amazing!"

  • "We have our favorites here, but, to our surprise, the menu had changed and our favorites were gone! We asked if we could still get a Margarhita Pizza but the server said there was no more red sauce to make it with, so no go. Also, no more burger. But the trout and mussels were very good and we enjoyed the ramps and peas. The Caesar salad was also not as good as usual. But great wines as always. We hope you'll re-think the pizza choices."
