TOAST Enoteca & CucinaNice cozy spotI originally discovered Toast on a random stroll in San Diego's east village. I had lunch at the bar by myself--I was literally the only diner in the restaurant. But I had their signature octopus salad and a terrific glass of tempranillo. So, the next time I was in town, I took clients for dinner there--twice! We had very pleasant meals both times, though on the second night, the octopus salad was sold out, so I had to go without! One complaint was that several in our party the first night found a lot of the food too salty--especially the pork shoulder, which was otherwise melty-tender and fantastic. The roasted pear appetizer with gorgonzola is great--I will definitely have that again when I go back.

Amazing appetizer specials on sunday and the entrees were great. All pasta is homemade and the bread and dipping sauces were amazing. They also have an abundance of wine by the glass 400+ that they use special dispensing system.
