  • "This restaurant needs attention to customers who are arriving. The restaurant was empty except for one group in the lounge. The server asks if we had reservations and walks away. Another server finally comes from the rear and shows us to our table after 10 min. It has never been good at greeting customers. Food is good but service is lacking big time and it seems it is worse when the restaurant is pretty well empty."

  • "Excellent selection of food. By 11:30 am the food heaters on some food was not keeping he dishes very hot. Dim Sum was dried and crispy. Someone should be watching the dishes to ensure the quality of the food is not overheated and dried out. Very disappointed with the restaurant this time. "

  • "The service was the best part of our Easter Brunch, our waiter was professional and attentive. The buffet had a wide variety of brunch items and most of it was pretty nice---the only flaw I noticed was that the omelette station was overcooking the eggs. Not a big deal for me though because I was having scrambled which was creamy and nicely cooked."

  • "Don't think of customer no table available for booked brunch very expensive not good food & service for a $35.95 plus 15% service charge per person. You have to walk over 50 feet before you can have another plate (buffet brunch). Even you ask why they overbooked with no table the manager gets upset when you ask. "

  • "The food was excellent. We started with sharing of three appetizers, each was very nicely presented and the flavors were great. Five of us each had different entrees and we were all very pleased with the size, presentation and quality of each meal. The wine list was adequate and had enough to chose from but was not as broad a selection that might be expected to go along with the menu. We were headed to another venue specifically for desert so did not have a chance to sample that part of the menu."

  • "Went for 3 course $28 Dine Out, because menu looked interesting. On the good side the food was well plated and only the over-cooked halibut detracted from a competent job. However, the rest of the experience was a bit of a disaster. The room has no atmosphere - from a portable coat hanger by the front entrance, to plastic table tops, cheap cutlery, horrible music. Minimal wine list with nothing very interesting. Pleasant waitress who had no idea how to serve in a fine dining manner - couldn't explain the menu, wanted to take plates before we were finished, tried to make us re-use our cutlery for appetizer and main course. Why a chef who has some quality would want to work here is a bit of a mystery!"

  • "The food started out pretty good. My partner had the chicken jeera hash cake and I had the coconut prawns. They were both flavorful, has great texture, and well presented. As main course, we had the braised lamb shank and the roast pork porchetta. The lamb shank was really tender, but the taste wasn't the best. I thought it was too gamey, and my partner was just not impressed with the taste. The skin on the pork was so tough I couldn't cut through it with a steak knife. When my mother makes roast pork, the skin is crispy you can just bite through it. The taste was good though. Dessert was a travesty. Too bad because service and setting were both good."

  • "It was a quiet night at the restaurant. We had a group of 8 on a Sunday early evening, we were the only ones there. It was great to be able to have a conversation and not have to shout. Delicious food and wonderful desserts!"

  • "Tivolis is a hidden gem with an excellent chef. The prime rib with an wine reduction gravy was truly the best I have had in the lower mainland. On Friday and Saturday it includes soup or salad, beautifully done roasted veggies and Yorkshire pudding. The waiter was helpful, friendly but left us alone to enjoy our meal and each other."

  • "We would highly recommend the following menu items which we enjoyed recently at Tivoli’s: leak and potato soup (smooth and creamy), whiskey and maple soaked salmon (moist and delicately sweet), and seafood linguine (fresh and secculent). And let’s not forget the colourful and light-and-airy macaroons served on an elongated white plate with a touch of fruit preserve for extra colour and texture. The food, as well as service were just fantastic and we highly recommend. Definitely deserving 5 stars."

  • "We took mom out for Sunday brunch at Tivoli's Restaurant, Executive Hotel, Burnaby this past weekend. The food was delicious, nicely displayed and lots of variety. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of food and the selections, not too much and not too little. Definitely worth a try. Please note: they are really short on wait staff the day we were there and if you ordered a la carte from the menu, the wait was really long. This didn't affect us as we were there for the brunch and we were in no great rush."

  • "Went for 2 dinners since relatives were staying at the hotel. Prime Rib dinner on Sat night was horrid. The prime rib had grill marks on them and were way overdone. Obviously they were re-heating already cooked roast beef. The other dinner was just mediocre. Food was on par with most chain restaurants.Had the same server on both occasions & she was really lovely & tried her best to accommodate us (we had a toddler) and the situation."

  • "The Easter brunch had a good selection of hot and cold foods and the display was pleasing. Food was appropriately hot and cold. The one comment I could make is that the cold veggie platter had cauliflower which had a beige color to the tops which I would normally cut off at home. I was suprised to see the cauliflower displayed as such. The decorations were simple but elegant and eyecatching. I appreciated the staff enthusiasm and the extra length they went to hide easter eggs for visitors."

  • "The most amazingly delicious food can be found in this otherwise unremarkable hotel restaurant. The dining room decor and atmosphere is convention centre-hotel dining room in all it's bland, generic glory. And then food arrives at your table. It is quite simply some of the best tasting food in the Greater Vancouver area. If this chef was to relocate to another restaurant we would be dining there regularly but sadly, as wonderful as the food is at Tivoli's, the atmosphere and presentation of the venue is a big turn off."

  • "For the $28 dollar menu I wasn't expecting spectacular, but I got it anyways. I had the shrimp, the salmon and the chocolate lava cake. The food was divine and the staff was attentive without being intrusive. And the food... I can't say enough. We went to Chops for dinner the next night and the food didn't even come close. I give Tivoli's 10 stars!! Yes, it was that good. I’m definitely going back for more!"

  • "The layout of the restaurant is not the best. Although I made a reservation, the only seats were by the door and close to the pub -- not the best location. We could see all the activity in the lobby of the hotel and had a view of the pub. I understand that because of Dine-Out Vancouver, it may be more busy than usual, but the layout of the restaurant is really not conducive to a 'romantic' or quiet dinner."
