Tir na nOg Irish Bar & Grill - MSG
Good food&service near Penn StationNeeded early dinner with friends close to Penn Station so they could make their train home easily. Not a lot of choices on a late Saturday afternoon. We remembered Tir na nOg from many years ago. Excellent choice. Very well-prepared dishes, good portions, good prices. Our server was great. One of our friends had no problem getting multiple substitutions, and she was very pleased with everything. The pork chop was massive yet perfectly cooked, as was the portion of mahi mahi. Only disappointment was that they were changing the beer taps when we got there, but btg prices for wine didn't hurt. And many excellent tap beers were available later. The bar filled up while we were there, but the noise lever never roared.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time had by all..serviceGreat time had by all..service was friendly and fast..would recommend.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice restaurant just acrossA nice restaurant just across from the Garden and Penn Station. It lived up to its internet billing and was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely return. Unfortunately the bar is very small, so it was impossible to get a seat any of the three times I tried, but, know now I will only be there to eat.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great Escape from Penn StationIt's hard to find a decent place right at the heart of Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Tir na nOg solves that challenge very successfully.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant you feelWonderful restaurant you feel transported back to Ireland. This has been one of my favorite Irish restaurants for years!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPamWas not sure what to expect, and it was perfect. The bartenders and waitresses acted like the had all the time in the world for you. Beer was great, as were the drinks.
Everyone loved the food but I though there could be a couple of extra lighter entrees, like salads. Other than that, I would still go back, we had a great time there before our event at the Garden.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
