With the great reviews I expected better. Two people in my party really enjoyed the Migas. The soft scrambled eggs were good as were the fried pickles and Tuscan kale salad. I thought the trademarked Bicuit Bomb would have been something special but it wasn't. Just a huge, dry biscuit with very little sausage inside and smothered and filled with cheese. The cheddar cornbread was similarly average. Service was good.

Decided to have brunch here for my son's birthday. My daughter and her husband are locavores from Brooklyn and was excited to dine here. The setting is comfortable and casual. There is a common table for dining as well as individual tables. All the food was delicious. We all had different entrees including the Mushroom Toast, Avocado Toast, Salmon Toast, Pulled Pork with Spoonbread and Steakburger (with the usual suspects). The usual suspects turned out to be lovely fries. My husband had this dish and it turned out to be a bit heavy for 10:30 am, but, nevertheless, was tasty. They also have some interesting brunch-type drinks to choose from. It was a good meal in a lovely area in Chelsea and we were totally happy with our choice of restaurants.

my meal got off to a less than stellar start when they only served "their" whiskey....brands I never heard of and, though recommended, was not up to par. My fried green tomatoes were excellent...that's where it ended. "popcorn shrimp" on the shrimp and grits....terrible......mac and cheese, bland, trout not seasoned well. I won't even give it a 2nd chance, not matter how cute Tylor is...really disappointed.....though.....the menu made everything sound wonderful....it just wasn't ....and to top if off...a condescending NY attitude waitress......who needs that....not me...I always tip from 20-25%...I tipped 15...and I was too generous...

Good brunch experience- got the first reservation of the day so wasn't crowded. Great music and cozy ambiance for a rainy Saturday. Started with the biscuit bomb which was awesome then I got one of the waffle dishes. Unfortunately, while the waffle was warm the toppings weren't so it made the overall dish a little cold. My dining partner got the BBQ spoonbread which according to him was a little bit too BBQ-y for brunch. I've passed this place for months so I'm glad I finally got to experience it.

The food was great and the menu is very creative. The setting is calm and relaxing. The service was polite, but I was somewhat offended when the waitress came to tell us they would need the table for another party after we'd only been seated for an hour and fifteen minutes. That's pretty rude.

This place is a neighborhood gem. The menu has a bit of a nuvo southern vibe to it. There are numerous vegan and gluten free options, which is what brought me in to begin with. If and when I have a hankering for a dish that is not on the Gluten Free list, the chef is usually very accommodating toward making it so. The atmosphere not fancy, but a bit rustic, warm and inviting. I find the service to be consistently friendly and helpful. My only negative comment is that it can be loud (especially at Sunday Brunch) but then what busy NY restaurant is not loud these days.

My daughter follows a NYC blog, discovered this restaurant and shared it with me for my annual trip to the city with three friends. This spot has moved to the top of our list for brunch! We shared a biscuit bomb for starters and it was fabulous. Then we each ordered something different so we could sample each other's choice - Migas, Fried Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, and Mushroom Toast - every single thing was delicious! Also the cocktail "Down The Hatch" was amazing. I would recommend Tipsy Parson (love the name too) without hesitation, and, in fact, already have! Looking forward to my next trip to NYC and returning to this restaurant. I do recommend that you make a reservation.

The tipsy parson is a well decorated chelsea spot with high quality brunch. Try the spicy bloody mary and the farmstand platter: poached eggs on a bed of seasonal vegetables and pesto. it's colorful and delicious. The fruit salad even had candied ginger as a topper and the little details like literary wallpaper make it a place you'll want to linger.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years, and I have always quite enjoyed it previously. It's a charming little room, though it does get quite loud. The bartenders were a bit ditzy but transferred my bar tab to the table, which I always appreciate immensely. However, we had the SALTIEST meal I've ever had in nyc. Everything was so over-salted and not even well-seasoned. (I didn't order a main dish, because I wanted to try three smaller things). I had to send the salad back after 4-5 bites because it was just so vinegary and sodium-heavy my mouth literally hurt. I don't think I will come back here again for the food - probably just the bar if I'm in the area. Otherwise, it's too noisy to also have bad food.

Met a friend here for an early dinner during the week. The bar was packed with only a few people eating but it filled up shortly after we arrived. My friend and I ordered a bottle of reasonably priced wine. We shared a biscuit with habanero jam, the mac and cheese and the fall salad. Everything was delicious. The biscuit was so light and fluffy, the mac and cheese rich and decadent and the salad was light and crisp to balance everything out. The server was delightful and attentive and I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I recently had Sunday Brunch at Tipsy Parson. The location was convenient to where we needed to be on Sunday afternoon. The dining room is nicely appointed and the service was attentive. I had the burger, which was very good!! The only problem we encountered was the noise level. We could not carry on a conversation at all. If you have a loud voice, this is a good place to eat. We had a slight headache at the end of brunch

I was so excited to try a Chelsea neighborhood favorite. When we arrived we were put at a shared table in a room that was so loud we could not even hear our own voices. We decided to leave but the manager convinced us to stay and sit at the bar. The bartender was hard to get his attention and that night they were out of 50% of what we tried to order. It was very disappointing night. I won't be going back.

Tipsy Parson had delicious southern food. The only plate I wasn't impressed with was the ribs. There was a lot of sauce on them, almost covering up all of the meat so you couldn't even taste if the meat was juicy/flavorful or not. I don't think I would've minded if the sauce were actually yummy but it tasted like something I could buy at the food store. Besides that, the hush puppies, catfish, and mac and cheese were delectable.

We loved the menu, the ambiance and the neighborhood. Food was delicious. But the noise level at noon on a Sunday was off the charts. We had to yell all through brunch to each other. So, go for a great meal and with good friends that you know well, but don't go if you're trying to get to know someone, because you won't hear half of what they say!
