We loved our dinner at Tinto. We chose to order two or three tapas at a time, ordering more when finished. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions.

Back in town for the second time in 1 year for conferences. Came first time with local friends. Brought wine and foodie friends from the conference the second time. Fabulous food, wine and service each time. Recommend for those who want to escape the big hotels and large dinner parties common with conferences!

Chose for tapas, a favorite dinner selection. Ordered multiple selections. Cheese mixta delightful. Beet salad good. Meat tapas OK. Had to request vegetables be served with meat tapas, were held to the end. Is a spot that serves as a good wine and appetizer spot. Overall, dishes lacked flavor depth.

Excellent service & a the chef was kind enough to include one of the restaurant's signature dishes (Diver Scallops) in our tasting, even though it wasn't normally part of the package. We went here for an anniversary and we were rewarded by excellent ambiance and even better food.

Three friends had a delicious evening. Loved everything. The octopus was exquisite. The duck was to die for. Everything offered its unique favors but some unexpected. Sharing the plates was a fun way to taste lots of different dishes. The sangria was less interesting. Next time I will order from the wine list.

This was our first time back to Tinto in three years almost. It's just as good as it has ever been. The food is really good, and the wine list is awesome to choose from as well. Our service was fantastic. We really liked the paella, pork belly montadito, Brussels sprouts and tuna tartare bocadilla. We will definitely be back again.

Food quality just not good. Did 5 course chef tasting for 5 with out of towners. Cheese and charcuterie good as well as mini skewers but all else bland, overcooked and literally just thrown on our table with no explanation. The paella rice was dry and crunchy. Stick with Amada, Tinto is not good.

Although we were at first seated in the part of the dining room with the high stool-like seating - which we don't feel is conducive to a relaxing meal -- the restaurant did move us to a regular table, and the rest of the evening was fine. Sharing these small plates is both intimate and delicious. We would recommend everything we've tasted there. Can't go wrong participating in the chef's tasting menu.

Tinto is fantastic. The unique interior design is visually appealing without being at all distracting to the dining experience. I have tried many good dishes, but my personal favorite is the Pulpo. Quite possibly the best octopus in the city. The wine list is extensive and the pairing selections went well with my meal. Tinto is great for a romantic date or a quiet dinner with a few friends.

It's restaurant week in Center City and we ate from the price fixe menu. We had 8 different dishes ("tappas" format). All 8 were excellent! I would recommend Tinto's to anyone who might be in the Rittenhouse Square section of the city. Service was respectful, prompt, (but not overbearing) and our server was very attentive. (our server said he has been with Garces for 7 years which resonated with me). The wine list was excellent, too. I even liked the bartender before we sat down; kind, mellow and decent guy. Highly recommend!!

I love Garces restaurants, and every time I come to Tinto I have a great experience. Restaurant week menu was great this time. The spanish octopus was fantastic. My only complaint is that the service was a little too relaxed, maybe because it was restaurant week. The waiter was not that attentive. That was the only time I did not have a superb experience with the service at Tinto. Overall still one of my favorites in the area.

We dined at Tinto during restaurant week where the feature was a prix fixe tapas dinner featuring 5 choices per person including appetizers, salad, potatoes and meats/fish as well as dessert. Each dish was expertly prepared and seasoned from the delightful figs wrapped in ham to the luscious sea bass. The tapas dishes were paced well with dishes appearing magically as we were finishing the previous. The desserts consisted of a unique honey/grapefruit panna cotta contrasted with a rich chocolate torte.

Up to JGG standards; I've yet to be disappointed dining at a Garces property. In this case, I've frequented the 'other' Tinto in Palm Springs but had never been to the Philadelphia location. The menu is Basque tapas similar, the dishes outstanding. My only concerns are upward price creep at all JGG restaurants and whether this empire is becoming too large to manage each property with the attention to detail they deserve.

First time dining.Came for restaurant week. Our server Damien was very helpful, friendly, attentive.Made our dining experience successful! Sat next to the kitchen which was fun! Tapas are my favorite way of eating, getting to try many foods and flavors in a meal. Tinto did a great job of Spanish/French Basque style, combining foods and regional flavors that were interesting, distinct and complimentary. Loved the octopus! Gazpacho was fantastic! I paired figs with a cheese plate, yummy! We had the chicken with brussels sprouts and it was a little dry but very good flavors. Sea bass was ok.My only regret was not ordering the panna cotta and going with the chocolate dessert. It was a delicious regret tho'! Good Sangria. Would definitely return.

Great place for an evening dinner with the wife. Restaurant size much larger than the subtle storefront. Decor rustic yet modern, with walls covered with ceiling-high dark wooden wine racks. We were seated promptly upon our arrival for our 7:30pm reso - it was packed, which was comforting. Wanting to try as many dishes as possible, we both ordered the $75 Chef's Menu (versus going a la carte or with the $55 Chef's Menu). Being a tapas style menu, and the Chef's Menu not pre-determined, requested a wider variety of dishes, rather than having an identical meal throughout - request was fulfilled at no extra cost. Highlights included the Foie Gras Torchon, Wagyu Sirloin & Diver Scallops. Good cheeses. Would go back next time in Philly.

A delicious meal that was creative and excellent in preparation. Most dishes had a great combination of flavors. Scallop dish was a bit too sweet and could have been better if that was toned down a bit. Unfortunately the waiter kept this from being even higher rated for us. When we ordered the wine he noted it was just an "ok" selection yet when asked for other suggestions he was not helpful just saying others were better. If he had gone into more detail we would have ordered a "better". Throughout the meal he was aloof and unfriendly. Not rude, but cool and aloof as if we shouldn't have been taking up his time. Too bad because this really did sour our overall impression.

This was our second trip to Tinto. First time everything was fabulous, had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. So good we thought we'd try it again the following year. While the food was every bit as good, we were left feeling a bit cold with our waiter. I feel if you're spending that much money for a whole meal experience, you should be treated well. Our waiter walked by our table several times and never bothered to ask if we wanted refills of our wine even though our glasses were empty. He gave us an overall impression that we weren't worth his time. While the food was absolutely delicious we will probably choose somewhere else next time.
