A great deal of care was evident in the selection of ingredients as well as creativity of the menu. We had the tasting menu and nothing disappointed us. The serverwas knowledgable about food and wine. He made such a difference in our dinning experience at Tinto. The decor of the restaurant reminded me of a tapas place in Spain. If you appreciate some authentic Spanish tapas dishes and a savory dinning experience, you should try this gem in Philadelphia. "

  • "We had a most enjoyable meal at Tinto. The atmosphere was relaxed, our waiter was knowledgable about the food offerings, and the food itself was quite good. Upon the suggestions of our waiter, we choose 3 appetizers and 3 entree plates and that amount of food was perfect for 3 people. (Our favorite was the prawn brochettes.) Overall, it was a great night!"

  • "This was the first time we ate at Tinto, and we are looking forward to a return visit. We especially enjoyed the duck confit and the lamb chops, but the vegetables were also excellent.. These are true tapas-size servings, so ordering about three per person, as the server advised, was just right. We were a party of three, and we also ordered three desserts, two of which were very good, but the chocolate cake tasted unpleasantly of condensed milk. "

  • "Tapas were excellent, with a good mix of traditional and new interpretations. Bartenders and waiter were helpful and present whenever we needed them. Anthony stopped by multiple times during our meal and we compared travel notes while he was still attentive to his other tables. While the wine list is extensive, and we're partial to good sangria, the unique concoctions at the bar piqued our interest only after seeing the process. Their take on gin and tonic shaken with a sprig of tarragon just had to be tasted. Will gladly return. "

Small plates were good, particularly the tuna tartare small sandwich, prawns, salad with roasted garlic dressing was perfect .For desert I had an amazing cherry shortbread type of cake - so good ! Large wine selection, tried a Rose at the recommendation of the waiter. We ordered a number of small plates for the 4 of us to share, not impressed with the crab (small fried crab bites) or the pork belly toasts. Service started off great - although not pleased with the table we were taken to shoved in theback, they moved us to a better table once we asked. There were only a few tables filled when we arrived and we did have reservations. Once the restaurant filled up our waiter and his attentive service fell off a bit."

  • "Wonderful dining experience for our one year wedding anniversary! The service and food was impeccable! As it is a tapas restaurant it is recommended that you order 3-4 dishes per person. The food is served family style meaning the food comes out as it is done being prepared. Sangria is quite tasty and wine and beer selection is outstanding. Make sure to save room for the chocolate torte with Nutella ice cream for dessert. Will surely come again during our next visit to Philadelphia."

  • "We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people and left more than satisfied. Each dish was better than the last. They have a bit of an eclectic flair, like uni on the scallops. There's onion soup on the menu, which signifies the crossover between Spain and France in the Basque region. Presentation was lovely. Lighting is dim, so the vibrancy of the plates was a bit lost there, but overall a great dining experience."

This past weekend, though, there was an obnoxious extended family with multiple children who had bouncy balls that were getting tossed under all kinds of tables of diners. The only thing louder and more intrusive than the kids were their parents and loud aunt who felt it appropriate to yell to one another over diners seated around them. The manners on those adults were just horrible. Usually Tinto is not such a kid-friendly place, though, so I wouldn't hold this one instance against the restaurant. They did promptly tuck the family down in the basement away from everyone else, which I am sure everyone in the place was thankful for! Overall, it really is a great spot."

We ordered 6 items and each arrived at the table in an appropriate manner. The food was excellent. We had the figs, onion soup, short rib sandwich, shrimp, lamb and mushrooms. All highly recommended. We would definitely go back again."
