TintoFantastic! We did the premium tasting menu with wine pairings - amazing! Perfect amount of food. The focus is on the flavor profile and the presentation but we were full when done. A must try!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWell Done on all countsPhenomenal food, really inventive, lovely presentation, great service. We had the deluxe tasting menu & were glad we splurged, we left extremely satisfied!!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZINGI don't even write reviews but I had to for this one. I cannot wait to go back. Get the pork belly!!!! The wine list, the service, the food....oh man I don't even have the words. Got the tasking menu, and it was more than worth it. Enjoy!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply amazinnng.Everything was amazing. From the knowledgable and not overly clingy waiter to the quite possible best tasting, most well prepared food I may have ever had, Tinto is a must try. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to try a little bit of everything. The peppered custard dessert was just the icing on the already delectably, scrumptious cake of a dining experience. Just make sure your wallet is full being that tapas can sometimes get expensive, but it was WELL worth it.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMJose Garces Does It AgainTinto is an excellent Spanish tapas restaurant with a menu that has great range from savory to salty, light to heavier selections all of which are sure to make your taste buds stand up. I highly recommend the Spanish octopus, the Chilled Beans, the turbot and the Wild Mushrooms. The waiter we had did an excellent job with the timing of the dishes and knew the menu inside out. It's a great place for business clientele and dinner with a special someone and with the meals I recommended you will leave surprisingly full despite sharing with someone else. Do come ready to spend though as the prices can get up there quickly if you're starving.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded expectationsMy husband and I have been long Jose Garces fans so when we were taking a weekend to Philly decided on Tinto due to my husband's roots in the Basque region. All the staff was friendly and point on with their responsibilities, from the reservation confirmation to the hostess accommodating our early arrival to all the wait staff, they epitomized what they are there for: warm, informative, and not overbearing (you know, the checking on you every two minutes annoying type). While I have had that level of service elsewhere, and couldn't ask for any better, what truly blew me away was the food! The timing and order of dishes was perfectly synchronized, balance of flavors and complexity was rich, temperature exact, and textures diversified.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome foodEverything we ordered was incredible, especially the Diver Scallops. Definitely plan on coming back here. Delicious cocktails too. There was a leak in the ceiling above us, which we didn't notice until the end of our meal, which is the only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat all aroundWe lived everything about this place!! Do yourself a favor whether the Lamb!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife loves Jose GarcesMy wife loves Jose Garces restaurants. We have been to many, and this one does not disappoint. Enjoyed smoked meats and cheese, olives, bottle of red (rojo), prawns, lamb, side of mushrooms, and chicken plate. Coffee. Great meal.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto PhiladelphiaMy wife and I had a lovely anniversary dinner at Tinto, our second time there and worth the return trip. My wife is a pescatarian, I'm am omnivore with a few annoying food sensitivities and we didn't feel our choices were especially limited there. Our cocktails were well prepared, the food delicious, our server friendly without being familiar. My only gripe is it can get pretty loud in there, something that's becoming prevalent in restaurants, but at least it wasn't to the point where we had to shout to hear each other across our table. We'll definitely be back.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding tapasEnjoyed excellent tapas. Started with their sparkling rose and jambon iberico, manchego and smoked almonds. The almonds actually have a porky taste to them. They were okay by me, but my husband loved them. The hot tapas were very good. The favorite was the scallops with the short rib sandwich a close second. Desserts of chocolate cake with mango sorbet and chocolate toffee concoction were delicious. Wait staff were attentive. Would definitely return.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto TerrificFlavorful, creative food in perfect portions for sharing.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent and will go backFood and service were great, although I would avoid the fig dish since they are out of season and these figs are rehydrated. Service was excellent although we did need to tell them to slow the pace of the dishes. Server brought us a taste of the Sangria we were looking at and would order next time. The red was excellent but the white was too sweet for us. This was our second visit and we enjoyed both and would go back again in a heart beat.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experiencePerfect mellow evening. Excellent service and delicious food. Beautiful interior.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. OurThe food was delicious. Our server, Justin, was attentive and helpful, as well as being very nice.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE TINTO!Tinto is by far one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. We went this past weekend and got the Deluxe Chef's Tasting Menu-- it was absolutely incredible. Everything was perfectly prepared and presented. The flavors were delicious. I love it. I would do it again and again. Thank you, Tinto!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Meal during Philly TripOMG, our table of four tried every small plate...the only one we didn't love was the meatballs...Enjoy.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet TapasVery interesting place with a small menu but very interesting and well-crafted tapas. I always expect to be unsatisfied with tapas but the meat dishes were so flavorful and rich that the two of us could not finish the meager 4 plates we ordered. We sat near the glass peering into the kitchen so it was very interesting to see all the different dishes being made. Now that I have seen this I would like to go back and try the other beautifully platted dishes the next time I am in Philly.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFive stars across the boardTook friend from out of town and she loved the entire experience! My husband & I have been to Tinto before and it was great seeing the place with fresh eyes...and taste buds. Nate suggested an outstanding bottle of tempranillo and made our guest feel welcome. Set the mood for a great meal. The vegetarian dishes were wonderful, especially the green beans and the bean salad (with tuna removed). Cuajada dessert was really unique - great if you love black pepper. I wanted to finish it but I was already full.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunch spotGreat lunch spot. Antipasto was fresh and creative, pizza was tasty as well. great wine list, to pair with the food.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBrilliant BitesEntire staff was very accomodating! Every dish was flavorful and memorable. Especially enjoyed the duck montadito, paella, green beans, and prawns. Loved the Basque wine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMChef's ChoiceBe careful with the "Chef's choice." We found it to be much more expensive than simply choosing the same items sepsrately from the menu.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely delicious tapas!Absolutely delicious tapas! We cannot wait to go back again5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAs good as my first visitI took my mom to Tinto to celebrate Mother's Day. I had been once before with my girlfriend and we had the "deluxe" tasting menu ($75 each vs. $55 each). It was phenomenal - each plate was thoughtfully prepared and explained by our waitress.
I wanted to replicate that experience with my mom so we ordered the same deluxe tasting menu and the wine pairing. Typically when I really enjoy a restaurant the second time I go doesn't match up. This was not the case - everything was either just as good or better. It is a true "tour" of the menu and well worth the $75. I could go on and on about each dish (10 each), but I will say the duck wrapped in Serrano ham and fried in duck fat was a friendly assault on the taste buds.
What an experience.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal food and service.Phenomenal food and service. We were a group of 6 and seated right next to the kitchen and it was quite loud and difficult to hear everyone speaking, but other than that a great experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience, and whileGreat experience, and while the food was outstanding, the service left a bit to be desired. After a quick barrage of courses, we were left to sit without a single course for nearly 40 minutes. It took a call to our waiter to get more food and the balance of what we had previously ordered. A small blemish to what is otherwise a fantastic experience.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMtook clients there and theytook clients there and they loved it. The shared portion method of eating is good for client interaction etc..5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food and service but.....Food and table service were excellent as usual. The hostess however, was extremely rude and basically asked us to clear the table after an hour and a quarter, even though the tables near us had emptied and nobody seemed to be waiting for a table. My friend, who owns a restaurant was shocked!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial occasionHad a nice meal, tried everything..service was good, food was excellent5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular Dining ExperienceOrdered the more expensive tasting menu, then sat back and enjoyed the fabulous creations that came out of the kitchen. Service by knowledgeable, experienced staff was excellent, and enhanced the overall dining experience. We look forward to returning very soon!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at TintoMy wife and I took a weekend retreat to Philadelphia to go to the Philadelphia Orchestra and have a relaxing time. All was met in addition to going to Tinto and having an AMAZING dining experience there. TInto is a tapas bar/restaurant and I do recommend that when going that you go with the idea of sharing. All items are presented in small plate form with fantastic presentations. I can't wait to go back to try more things.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto was terrific! The chef's combinations of flavors and textures were so pleasing that they were entertaining. We truly enjoyed each plate, and as our server had indicated four each (that were all shared) were quite satisfying. The service was outstanding, well orchestrated, and never left us wanting for having something delicious in front of us. The kitchen must also be run by a deft hand to have each plate prepared and ready to be served with just the right timing.
We loved the subtle decor in the lower dining room, and meant to check out the bar area, but had a play to attend directly afterwards. We're sure it was lovely and welcoming as well.
Thank you, Tinto and staff! We plan to return to try newly imagined plates in the future!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was my 2nd time at Tinto. It was my 2nd time at Tinto. Went back this time with different friends, hoping the food would be as wonderful as the first time and it absolutely was! We had the premium tasting menu and it was worth every penny. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another delicious bite, the waiter delivered an awesome dessert and we devoured that, too. Highly recommend Tinto! Hats off to the chef and the kitchen crew.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeWe had the tasting menu. 4 guys in town for business. All eat at nice places and are a bit snobby about food. All walked away thoroughly impressed. Great place.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level is too high ,Noise level is too high , unfortunately
Food was superb, a great dining experience4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe selected the Chefs TastingWe selected the Chefs Tasting and were not disappointed. Food selections, preparations and quantities were truly excellent. A memorable dinner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, great restaurantI took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Overall we were pleased with our first visit here. The food was great, although slightly overpriced. They have a great wine list with a small selection of cocktails. The service was good overall. Very friendly, attentive server. He did forget to bring out one of the items we ordered and also brought out the wrong item on a second occasion. It is tapas so we had plenty of food and weren't waiting long at a for the dishes to come out. He offered to comp the last item right away which was good by me. It was on the loud side, but that didn't bother me. It's a small place with a cool ambience. I would recommend it if you get the chance.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!!!Fantastic food, great wine selection, and unbelievably great service. This place is a hit!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMwe celebrated my husband'swe celebrated my husband's birthday there and the food was excellent! It was all soooo good!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto is always great butTinto is always great but Saturday night the food seemed better than ever. Just go with the tasting menu. Both the standard and the deluxe tasting are terrific. We had deluxe this time and it was worth the extra $20. The Old Fashioned was also one of the best I've ever had.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time dining at Tinto! The food was excellent. I was really impressed by the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, yet never annoying.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful selection of smallWonderful selection of small plates. Got the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing, and did not feel rushed at all even though we sat there for almost 4 hours! When our dessert wine took a very long time to get to us, they were very classy and brought it on the house. Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent service!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed Tinto's greatly. We enjoyed Tinto's greatly. The duck dish was a table favorite. If you're looking for an opportunity to talk, I'd reccommend taking a table downstairs. We found it more 'intimate'.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great meal at Tinto!Another Great meal at Tinto! This has become our favorite Garces restaurant. The service was excelent, attentive but not hovering. The food was outstanding (Have yet to have a bad meal here).
We are looking forward to the next oportunity to go to Tinto.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently reliable qualityConsistently good service and great food in a beautifully lit atmosphere. Prefer over Amada.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was my second time diningIt was my second time dining here. There seemed to be an inordinate amount of peppers, which seemed like
Pimentos, which are not my favorite. I will dine here again, but will ask many more questions about ingredients.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time at Tinto, stillSecond time at Tinto, still great.
The rice Bomba is incredible and worth the entire visit.
