Tinto - The Saguaro - Palm SpringsTinto Is GreatWe love Tinto. However, you need to go with friends that want to linger over plate after plate of delicious bites of food and have that wonderful experience called - conversation.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting with generous portionsI never leave this restaurant hungry and always have a good experience with the wait staff. Food is imaginative and prepared in a healthy fashion. If you have a date and are worried about what you will talk about I guarantee you will have something to say about each interesting and tasty course.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Everything was absolutely delicious. We will absolutely return!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for girls night out!My 3 girlfriends and I decided t enjoy a night at Tinto during restaurant week. It couldn't have been a better experience for us! We went with the 3 course meal for $38 with the $15 wine pairing. With their being 4 of us, we were able to try almost everything on the menu. Our waiter Steven was very attentive and accommodating. The assistant servers were also wonderful, refilling water glasses and taking empty plates. This was a fun way to dine. We were able to discuss every dish we tried as we were eating. I could see where it would get noisy on the weekend, but we went mid-week and it was fine. The manager came by our table too. Only issue was a few of the dishes were a bit salty or got lost in too much ham or bacon. We recommend Tinto.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food, Run TimeWent during Restaurant Week (RW), so expected to have a choice of doing the RW prix fixe. But learned that there are RULES. Everyone in the party had to do the same thing; i.e., if one person the RW prix fixe everyone had to. Same with ordering a la carte or the regular $65-75 prix fixe. They said it was too hard for the kitchen to handle it any other way (huh?). Nonetheless, we had a terrific meal. We ordered a la carte. Since there were four of us we got to sample many dishes. I can't think of one I didn't like. The total bill was, to me, very reasonable for the quality & imagination of the dishes (about $50pp w/o drinks). One person in the party thought that was high for "what we got", he said. The rest of us disagreed.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of the parkWe ate and drank for 2.5 hours. Food was coming out non stop and was fantastic on top of that.
Our server Michael was outstanding. Tinto is a real treat.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - VERY Noisywent restaurant week to check the place out. We live clode, but have never gone. Glad we went, food was very good. All items served family style so younshare everything, but these wew tapas, small portions of everything which was great for tasting many different items. The gazpacho was over the top delicious and the scallops melted in your mouth. We opted for the white Sangria and it was very refreshing. Save room for dessert....WOW.
Hard to have a decent conversation as it is really noisy, but will definitely go again on a week night, with hopes of a less noisy experience.
Again, the food was EXCELLENT, GREAT CHEF.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIn a word-fabulous!Worth waiting for a reservation.y husband & I have different tastes & so we had a variety of items. We loved each bite of each item. With several food allergies I frequently get a not so wonderful variation of a dish-not the case at Timto. Scott was the most gracious host/waiter & enhanced the wonderful food!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTop TapasVery inventive choices ... excellent preperation ... the only disappointment was their take on piella ... rice was over cooked and mushy ... everything else was excellent ...6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVegetarian Options LimiedSecond time at Tinto, both times for Restaurant Week. The $38 prix fixe and $15 wine pairing is a great way to sample small plates (some plates not so small!). Anything with dates included in the dish is great. However, this is a very meatcentric restaurant - vegetarians will be quite limited in their options, although the waiter accomodated the request to eliminate the ham from the salad.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTop of the World TapasHistorically the Coachella Valley has some kind of weird magic that seems to take perfectly great restaurant concepts that are world class in other locations and reduce them to pedestrian (meh) dining experiences.
Tinto is the happy exception. World Class. Jose Garces has a quiet winner in Palm Springs.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the artistry ofWe enjoyed the artistry of the serving of the food. The flavor s meld together well. I enjoyed the creative mixing of the seasonings
The desert with the fruit was delightfully refreshing6/5/2013 12:00:00 AM10 for TintoWe had a large party of 10. The food was excellent. Everything is served tapas style. We were fortunate to go restaurant week, and we had a good deal and excellent options to choose from. Only complaint was the order was screwed up with one of the items, but no biggie. Only other comment is that the recommend 4 tapas per person. I was more than satisfied with three, when the fourth came out. And I can eat. Something to keep in mind.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was an unexpected treat. This was an unexpected treat. The service was superb, the food and drink amazing. The only one criticism was the coffee(decaf) - it was bitter and not good.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThey had a very nice selectionThey had a very nice selection of Tapas options. We enjoyed the dates appetizer, the beats, scallops and shrimp. We were so full we had no room for dessert. Quiet and romantic atmosphere outside. Our waiter was informative and attentive.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat - Great- Greatexcellent food and services!!
Many different types of tapas to try out and they were all beyond our expectations. All dishes are delicious and very welcoming services. Would love to come back again.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat findSpectacular meal.
Surprising selection of choices fit for my foodie posse.
Freshest of ingredients perfectly prepared and matched ...elegantly plated.
Charming service.
In the words of the Guvernator, "I'll be back.."5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at TintosHad no idea what the food would be like because it was
Tapas which are small dishes which can be shared
From the basque region of Spain and France. I was very
delightfully surprised. The food was fabulous and delicious!!!
One suggestion I would make is don't order too much. All the dishes can be shared
I loved the food. Wonderful tastes. Highly recommend
Tintos.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Mothers Day CelebrationThe food at Tinto is outstanding. I mean everything on the menu. These guys elevate the small plates concept to an amazing level. We had some great wine to accompany the food and the service was solid!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe all would returnLots of new tastes and presentations were very imaginative. Had a 89 year old grandma, 40 year old couple and I who is....
Trendy lobby, very nice welcome, waitress knew her business and her tapas inside out and we tried everything. Everybody
ate all the flavors and I enjoyed the green beans and spinach and the shortrib on the roll, yummy yummy, etc. etc.
we were celebrating Evelyn's 89th and Mother's day so great way to go.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal of the yearWent here on a recommendation from friends, and we were not disappointed. Then waiter was fantastically accommodating, the caipirinha was delicious, but the food, oh the food! You will be so glad you ate here!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWolrd Class TapasI was amazed to see such an advanced option in Palm Springs. We did the expanded tasting menu, since we had a large party of 7. The flavors were layed, exotic and creative. We had more choices than we ever expected. Not all were superstars, but we all had our favorites. Our waiter was very helpful in guiding our decisions, but the runners that brought the food were inexperienced, frenetic, and at times clumsy. Two in our party ended up with food dumped all over them. There was no offer to assist or any apology. Other than that, we all had an amazing experience. The Cuaduja for desert was positively revaltory. Jose Garces is doing really great things in Palm Springs.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with a group of highlyWent with a group of highly discerning diners and we were all blown away. Absolutely delicious. Every dish was spot-on. Best meal I've had in a long while and in the desert no less!? Not inexpensive but worth it. Treat yourself!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Spanish influencedFantastic Spanish influenced tapas - generous portions for tapas. We chose the chef's menu and had a cornucopia of the menu - it just seemed to keep coming and coming. A perfect meal!!!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis review is for the secondThis review is for the second occasion at the restaurantand it was as good as the first. A very good restaurant anywhere, outstanding for the desert. Warm, dark interior in sharp contrast to Saguaro. Knowledgable staff, diverse tapas menu. Don't drink, but wine list looked good. Good place to return to.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good service,Great food, good service, too noisy...could not converse with dining companion.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt may be unfair to be criticalIt may be unfair to be critical here since our biggest, and only criticism, is that the noise level was really high. Part of it was the music volume within the restaurant itself, but part of it was the crowds which had gathered in the hotel lobby and patio outside the restaurant, all there to enjoy and celebrate the Coachella Music Festival. The place was abuzz!!! I'm not sure we would go back. HOWEVER, the food was DELICIOUS!!! We loved the small plates/tapas-style approach. The servers were experts at describing the dishes and explaining the menu. I would love to eat off that menu again!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto is always our go toTinto is always our go to for special occasions.
The menu is so unique and we love the Chef's Tasting menu!
We brought my In-Laws there for dinner and they loved it!
Thanks for knowing how to impress :)
My only hope is that Tinto doesn't become so popular that we can no longer get a table!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat and innovative food.Great and innovative food. A fun dining experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent hip trendy SpanishExcellent hip trendy Spanish Tapas dinner restaurant close to downtown Palm Springs at the Sag! We tried almost all the Vegetable dishes and loved them all including the Wine paired with the Madrone peppers! We also had the Breakfast at El Jefe at the Sag which was awesome in a great decor/ambience! Overall highly recommend for a memorable occasion/trip!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI have always enjoyed SpanishI have always enjoyed Spanish tapas, but have never had Basque food. We made reservations for dinner at Tinto on a Saturday. At the time, there was a huge pool party happening at the hotel, but it must have been scheduled to end by 6:30. Our waiter was excellent in describing how the menu worked - it was divided into six parts. We ordered eight different tapas between the two of us plus one dessert item to share. Everything was delicious! Yes, the plates are small, but that's what tapas are - you need to sample a few to enjoy more than one flavor. A great dining experience and great service.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were blown away by ourWe were blown away by our meal here, and we didn't even have entire swaths of the menu. We had a few of the pintxos, and they were amazing, especially the pork belly and shortrib ones. Definitely get those. Also had a delectable arugula salad. Pretty much everything we ate was fantastic and a symphony in the mouth. Finished the meal with the donuts - also a pure delight.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal I've had in PalmBest meal I've had in Palm Springs. Amazing food! Love the tapas dining experience. Portions were very generous. We had the "chef's special," which is five courses of the kitchen's choosing...each was absolutely yummy. Favorite was the mussel stew. And as a little side, the bowl of roasted/smoky almonds was perfection. Also loved the variety meat and cheese platters. I highly recommend dining here for a special occasion!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto's is great!Excellent food and service. Small bites served at a slower pace than we are normally used to, but the quality of the food is well worth the wait. Perfect if you are looking for a dining experience! The outdoor dining area is very nice. The restaurant opens up into the center court of the eclectic Saguaro Hotel, which makes it seem as if you are on a quirky movie set. Can't wait to go back. The pork belly, diver scallops and bunuelos were to die for, although everything was delicious!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food with interestingFabulous food with interesting flavors. The quality of the food is excellent. The restaurant's design is unique and fun. It's great to find an upscale, but casual restaurant with an ethnic bent in Palm Springs that's not French, Italian, or Mexican. This is a great find. Check out the gazpacho soup. It's yummy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second time at Tinto andOur second time at Tinto and it was as good as the first. The tapas here are excellent and offer something for everyone. It's a vibrant scene, good for groups and couples alike. The service here has been consistently attentive. Really love this place!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTinto is a top five valleyTinto is a top five valley restaurant. It could be number one. I have never had a bad meal here. The best way to experience Tinto is the chef's tasting at either $65, or $75 without wine. For $10 more, it is well worth spending the extra money. This is not a cheap place to eat, except for sitting at the bar and sampling small specially priced small plates. Service is friendly, professional and flawless. When getting the chef's tasting, pace yourself, there is a lot of food! Tinto is a must do dining experience.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Tapas ... a veryGreat for Tapas ... a very enjoyable evening with friends and family ...3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dining experience I'veBest dining experience I've had in a long time. Scott was a pleasure.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is just the bestThe food is just the best in the desert. We ordered the chef's tasting menu and every course was amazing. However it was way too much for me so do ask how many plates will be delivered before you order it. Yo can do quite well by ordering. 3 or 4 plates per person.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the idea of small platesLove the idea of small plates to share. It's pricey but the flavors were well worth it. Only get to Palm Springs once a year for the BNP Paribas but this place is definitely on the list for a return visit next year.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic tapasTinto is like taking a trip to Spain for tapas! Don't be deterred if it isn't crowded. The food was phenomenal - we loved the octopus. The wine list is great too. They have beautiful fire pits outside that would be fun for drinks.2/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience! One of PS best!!Nice place to enjoy a great outdoor dining experience with friends. Waiter was terrific. White sangria was a treat! Jam for toast was out of a glass jar--not a plastic container--other Palm Springs restaurants should take note!!1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat great spot.Great basque food.
Unexpectedly large portions.
Only complaint / suggestion would be a better balance of sauces/dressings/ condiments. On everyone of our 8 dishes, the balance of wonderful "dressings" were way on the heavy side, which was a shame.
Superior, knowledageable service.
Great outdoor seating. Top 3 restaurants in PS.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
