  • " Exceptional foodie experience. Chefs tastings menu is a great value and fun. "

  • "Great atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely go back again for the third time."

  • "Tinto is a stylish, lively spot in a town dominated by chains and restaurants oriented to an older crowd. The tapas were uniformly excellent and attractively presented. Several dishes we ordered were better than comparable dishes we had when we were in the Basque country in Spain. We did not try any of the larger plates, but the desserts were also excellent. This is a fun spot for a group and there was an energetic vibe. "

  • "Our dinner was delicious, we had kale salad, beet salad, dates, scallops and lamb! Every course was amazing!"

  • "Food 10, our server Ted 10+. Unfort. for the restaurant, it is in a overrated hotel. We were there when the Coachella music festival crowd desended upon it. Madness gettin into the hotel, but once in the restaurant it was very serene...and considerably empty...due to the coachella crowd. Would like this resstaurant better if it were not in this hotel."

  • "Inventive good quality Tapas, always good friendly service, beautiful patio dining, and the indoor area is also very nice."

  • "We love Tinto and have had several wonderful dinners there, so we were excited to try Sunday brunch. What a disappointment that was! Our waiter seemed inexperienced and disinterested in us, and he could not describe the tapas plates -- specifically, the montadito. Although there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, service was extremely slow. My pancakes with blueberry sauce were unremarkable, and they came with fake maple syrup, not blueberry sauce. They were topped with about four blueberries and four overripe, old slices of strawberry. We had to request water and more coffee because no one paid attention to us. We requested our check and, when no one appeared to accept payment, we went inside and asked to pay. I'll stick to dinner."

  • "The dining room in Tinto was warm and inviting upon our arrival. The fairly large space, located in the Suguaro Hotel, was divided on to sections by tall, wooden wine racks. We were seated on a lower level, near the outdoor dining space, which had really nice fireplaces. The atmosphere and the food were excellent. The Basque fare had some tasty traditionals, as well as some creative variations. Loved the octopus! Tinto loses some points for service, as we were neglected and overlooked at times in our seatin nook. Despite missing out on the specials, though, the server and kitchen were very accommodating. I'd go again!"

  • "This is our 2nd time to Tinto, and it was just as good as the 1st. We like to sit outside by the fire pits, great atmosphere. Since they are a tapas restaurant with food from the Basque region of Spain, they are great at describing & recommending from the menu. I would recommend the kale salad, artichokes, and either chicken or pork that comes in shot glasses filled with a great tasting sauce. If you are looking for a big meal where each person orders for themselves, this is not the place for you. but if you like to try new things, its a great place to have a good glass of wine & tapas with friends!"

  • "Had a great birthday dinner with six guests. We all had the Chef's Tasting a Menu, and loved it."

  • "The noise level was too distracting but the food and service was great."

  • "Our party of four dined outdoors, under the stars, and enjoyed a lovely evening. The food was delicious, though a bit pricey. Our server was either a novice, or disinterested, but we did not allow this factor to ruin our experience. Should it repeat, we might choose another restaurant instead. We like Tinto because it is a neighborhood favorite and the food quality is consistent."

  • "I am a senior executive that booked a reservation for 6 people outside. My wife was looking forward to the cuisine. The server we had was rude, arrogant and not accommodating. He messed up our order, argued with us, and was not accommodating. I eat at 5 star restaurants almost everyday and I have never had such awful service. I was embarrassed for my guests. I will not return due to the very poor and rude service. I hope for Tinto's sake that type of service was isolated to that particular server."

  • "I am a vegetarian and my fiancé is an omnivore and there were plenty of small plates for both of us. We sat outside near the fireplaces at twilight and even got a sample from the celebrity chef from his sampling menu. The French Margarita was perfect. The eggplant and goat cheese crostini was my favorite tapas. The waiter was well informed and just the right amount of friendly. I can say this place is romantic, because I asked my gal to marry me at dinner and she said yes!"

  • "This is only my second 5 star rating on open table. Tinto deserves it. The food is thoughtful, nuanced, creative and firmly rooted in Spanish ingredients and combinations. I'm a sucker for Jamon Iberico...which was delicious. The tasting menu had delicious seafood, lamb and beef dishes combined with exquisite cheese. The place also has a fun and lighthearted spirit consistent with Northern Spain. The wine pairings were nice, but not particularly interesting. The servers were very food knowledgeable, but wine wise they were not particularly well versed. The outdoor area is well done and interesting. Atmosphere is vibrant. My third Garces restaurant and definitely my favorite...though loved Amada too."

  • "high marks for the gazpacho, but halibut under-seasoned, scallops too salty, limited wine selection; staff pleasant and knowledgeable, but service slow; music too loud; lighting too bright in indoor dining area; only locals know to ask for outdoor seating"

  • "This restaurant was not my choice but my groups choice. I arrived prepared to not like it. I don't like fish, I'm allergic to shellfish, and I don't like a bunch of tiny portions. Well.... I was wrong. All five of us had the chef's tasting menu and they accommodated my allergy and my dislikes. The food was excellent in taste and the preparation was phenomenal. I left satiated and happy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "This rare find (authentic Basque food in the USA) is very good to outstanding. However, make sure that you request an outside table by the fire pits ahead of time (if you want one), because the host is not very accommodating."

  • "Fabulous service, creative menu, beautiful atmosphere. A special meal indeed. Let your server guide you through the menu and wine list as we did and you will have a memorable experience. Not to be missed by people looking for quality and excellence in dining coupled with a hip and sophisticated vibe."

  • "We had a wonderful time at Tinto. We were in town for the Indian Wells Tennis Open and made a reservation for an 8:00 dinner. We shared several small plates and everything was incredible, especially the octopus and the lamb. Wine was fabulous, the service attentive and fun, I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "this place really is awesome. we have been there three times in the past year--2 dinners and one brunch. whatever you think you want, you really want the chefs tasting with the wine pairing (need a designated driver or stay in the hotel :-) ) that combo is so much better than you could have done yourself! the noise however is seriously bad if the restaurant is packed. prior to last week, we had only eaten outside and it was sublime. this time, the restaurant was full and the noise was really deafening due to the large group taking up most of the restaurant. otherwise....after my first chefs tasting, I went home and bought chef garces' book! we love this place!"

  • "Food was very good. Service a bit up and down - after we were served our wine the waiter forgot about us for over 30 minutes and then was very apologetic and comped us a dessert. I think when restaurants don't give you any points they should announce it in an obvious place, because if you've booked with Open Table many times you do not even think to read the fine print on every confirmation."

  • "Wonderful tapas. We especially enjoyed the scallop. Beautiful restaurant, very romantic. Service was fantastic. Food came out in just the right pace and order. Very accomodating to our gluten free dietary restriction and didn't miss anything. Will definitely return."

  • "The food was inventive and quite good. Our server was very helpful, and his recommendations were accurate. There is an excellent selection of Spanish wines. The one down side is the noise level which steadily increased as the evening went on."

  • "This is my fourth or fifth visit to this restaurant and it has always been very good. The server's suggestions were helpful, including how much to order. We settled for seven small plates for two and still had a little room to share a satisfying dessert (pannacotta). Standouts were the Spanish choriso and the fried artichokes. Very handsome interior to the restaurant, which filled up as we dined. The server paced the delivery of small plates wonderfully, so they complimented each other well. We left feeling satisfied, not stuffed."

  • "We did the tasting menu for 2, I think we got about 12-13 dishes. The wine suggestion was perfect. The challenge was that we didn't see our server for the last 45 minutes at least and waited about 20-30 minutes for each of our last 2 dishes after finishing the previous. Overall it was a good experience."

  • "Can be a little pricey as you tend to sample a variety of dishes and it all adds up. Our group of 4 had 10 dishes. But there is a good selection and something for almost every palate (although I would think children wouldn't find as much choice. The menu is divided into cold tapas, hot tapas and hot plates ($25 and up). If you drink cocktails that can also put the bill up - our bar and food bills were about the same. But a great find and we'd certainly go again next time we visit Palm Springs."

  • "Went for Valentines day and was sitting about 12" away from the tables on either side of us. Felt like we were having dinner with two other couples. Otherwise, food was good but although a "wine pairing" meal, each wine was not described as brought out. The food server didn't even know where the wine was from."

  • "Tinto is our favorite Palm Springs restaurant and there are many to choose from! The food is always an adventure and always fabulous."

  • "If you like Spanish food Tinto hits The spot. The prefix for valentines day was a generous portion and you got everything on the menu instead of having to icl one item from each category."

  • "Twelve set dishes and probably six of them made me go, 'Wow!" starting with the biscuits and continuing through the smoked almonds, the olives (OMG!), and the scallops (Fantastic!). I wasn't even looking forward to the red velvet doughnut dessert, but when it came with the cinnamon ice cream, I had to give up another 'Wow!'."

  • "Valentine's Day dinner, we were seated on the patio. The ambiance gorgeous, almost breathtaking yet comfortable. A special occasion, the tapas menu was prix fixe. 4 courses; 1st; smoked almonds + olives + cured, acorn fed Spanish ham + cheese brochettes w/caramelized pearl onions (drizzled w/honey) all divine. 2nd; baby beets + seared beef + pork belly montadito - all melt in your mouth. 3rd; diver scallops (delicious if a tiny bit 'gritty') + white asparagus w/poached egg + braised beans w/Serrano ham + NY Strip - all sumptuous. Final course (dessert); red velvet bunuelos. Cream cheese filled donut-like creations w/red hot ice cream. Heaven! A bottle of moderately priced Tempranillo to swish it down & impeccable service. Perfection."

  • "We went on Valentine's Day for the prix fix menu. A tad expensive we thought but after the dishes began to arrive we realized there was a lot of food. Tinto's is a small plates restaurant based on the little plates of good at many bars in the Basque region of Spain. And the plates kept coming. My husband and I are not huge eaters, we prefer little plates and this was delicious! A tad loud for a romantic Valentine's day but there were many couples celebrating and enjoying each bite. Our waiter was excellent, attentive but relaxed."

  • "We had a delicious dinner. My favorite was the scallop - absolutely divine! We tried a bunch of other ones -- the chicken skewer which is served in a tall shot glass sunken in the puree and jus. Dessert was great too -- passion fruit sorbet with chocolate and carmel. How can you go wrong with that?!?!!?"
