Diner Reviews
  • "Server was asked specifically when taking orders - to not bring out the entree until salad was finished. You guessed it - I had a choice to finish the salad and eat a cooled down entree or give up the salad. The salad went in favor of the veal."

  • "The food was great! I'm an Italian from New Jersey and I have to say, it was authentic, fresh and amazing. The seafood was as if they just caught it. I highly recommend!"

  • "Our group of four was full of requests, dressing on the side, no cheese, extra cheese, you get the picture. Our server was pleasant and took it all in without a problem, and got most of it right. Blaming the kitchen on one error, it was quickly rectified, and advise was given on a better way to order the customized plate to minimize confusion. Overall, a good experience, and we will likely return to Tino's."

  • "Great place for a quick night out with good food and decent wine list to accompany it. Love the meatball appetizer (makes me keep coming back) and appreciate being able to create my own dish from a variety of pasta options. It's also nice to be able to get in and out in a short amount of time without being felt as rushed if we just want to hang."

  • "This is our second visit, this time to support a fundraiser supported by the restaurant. All proceeds from dinner went to a local theater. Nice selection of food, good prices and a nice wine list. We had a booth for 2 and it was a bit small. Portions were large so take home resulted in us having the same delicious meal for 2 nights. Would recommend."

  • "Our food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their selection. Service was attentive and friendly. Odd selection of music for an Italian place (even in a strip mall.) Kids enjoyed Linkin Park, but I don't think it was the best choice for Sunday evening dinner music. This also made it a bit noisier than it should have been since not too many people were there."

  • "We have dined at Tino's several times and always enjoy the food. The bread and dipping sauce are delicious and we have never been disappointed with a meal. However, we were quite surprised at one of their drink prices. I ordered "The" Manhattan, which I saw listed at $9 on the menu. No problem - until I ordered it on the rocks. When the check came, the drink price was $10 and the waiter explained that it was due to the "rocks." No, not kidding. I have NEVER seen that anywhere. So go to Tino's for the food, wine and beer. But keep the ice out of your cocktails!"

  • "We have a group of friends who meet once a week for dinner. When our meal is over and we're messing with the checks, we discuss "Where do we go next week?" If there isn't a clear answer right away, "I vote for Tino's!" I don't always win, but when I do, we always enjoy our meals, the service, and the fact that it's so convenient. When the weather breaks, we look forward to dining on their patio. My husband and I have selected our favorite meal to order...Chicken Chesapeake. It's chunks of white meat chicken with lumps of crab meat in a cream sauce poured over angel hair pasta. Though everything we've ever ordered has been wonderful, you must give it a try the next time someone asks, "Where do we to eat?""

  • "My wife and I have been here a number f times and are pleased every time we go. The staff is happy and shows a lot of pep and they know how things are prepared which helps when people who are dieting go there. Good wine selection for the type of food served an the pricing is reasonable. I like to create my own pasta and each time I end up doing it differently. Always good. Overall if you like basic Italian you will like Tino's"

  • "Nice food, service, and atmosphere. Pleasant, nothing stellar. Only complaint, too much garlic in olive oil that is served with bread, I was still tasting garlic at desmsert."

  • "A nice, non-chain neighborhood type restaurant in Columbia. Very good pizza and salads and reasonably priced wine"

  • "I went to dinner here while visiting Elicott City with two friends. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, it's a lovely place with delicious food! I had the special of the evening which was scallops, shrimp, and crab meat with rose sauce and fettuccine noodles- it was delicious!! I highly recommend this as a dinner location. We all loved our meals and the atmosphere was lovely!"

  • "Was recently at Tino's for a book club meeting/ dinner. The food was fantastic and we were able to have a good discussion without feeling like we were being too loud. The service was slow, however it was pretty busy night there."

  • "I found this restaurant by chance when looking for a place for a work lunch out. The food is great, the servers are friendly, and the place itself is very nicely decorated. And if you like wine... you have a TON to choose from! Thanks Tino's!"

  • "My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day, and the first thing I would say is, it is not a romantic spot. It's more of a family friendly place, and has little ambiance. The service as very good though, as was their oil mixture for dipping. Their menu was extensive, which I do like. While you tend to get a finer food from restaurants that specialize in just a few dishes, sometimes you just want options. We had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and thought it was average. Not bad, by any means, but nothing to go back for either. However, our experience was pleasant enough that we will likely go back and try a few other things. Overall, our experience was average, and the restaurant would likely best be described as a lunch spot."

  • "We were looking for someplace special to celebrate our " After Valentines Day Celebration" and we were leaning toward Italian when we stumbled upon Tino's. Sounded nice and reviews online were good and were happy it lived up to all the raves! We tried the meatball appetizer and they were delicious. My husband was delighted to find a place with a good selection of veal dishes and he opted for the Veal Marsala. The food was wonderful and we gladly took home our leftovers to enjoy later. The portions were ample and nicely presented. All said, it is a nicely appointed, well staffed local establishment in a convenient location with a diverse and authentic Italian menu without the hassle of driving to Little Italy!"

  • "A nice place for very good Italian food. Try the meatball appetizer. Steak salad is also yummy. The ambience is just OK. On the major plus, my bill is always lower than I would have expected for the quality of food and drink."

  • "Tino's Italian Bistro is a popular neighborhood favorite. My wife and I dine at Tino's often by ourselves, with family, with friends, or small groups. The food, service, and ambience are all very good. Our favorite dishes from an extensive menu and daily specials include, but are not limited to, mussels oreganato appetizer, garden salad with Tino's house dressing, baked salmon special, shrimp marinara, shrimp fra diavolo, eggplant parmesan, and tiramisu. Additional options include 'create your own pasta" and specialty pizzas. I strongly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The food was good as always however the portions vs. prices have changed. The appetizers are expensive for what you get. Wine list is great, service great as always."

  • "We always enjoy when we go to tino's, the food is good and consistent along with friendly service."

  • "Food and service are consistently very good. But the tables by the window are ridiculously cold in the winter. We were able to move to a warmer spot but those who were later ate dinner in winter coats. Pasta isn't homemade however chicken and veal dishes are good. This is our go-to neighborhood place for Italian. Much better than chain restaurants but not a special occasion place."

  • "This place is your run of the mill Itlalian chain restaurant. Kind of like an Olive Garden. The food and service were good but not great. I could go back but probably won't."

  • "We had dinner on New Year's Eve with a party of 6. We were seated right away. Our drinks were brought promptly to us. 5/6 of us ordered specials and thoroughly enjoyed them. The other party ordered baked ziti which was also delicious. Service was a little slow when getting refills on our drinks. Ambiance was very nice. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The food was outstanding. Tino's compares very well to any other Italian restaurant in Columbia or the surrounding areas. This was our second visit. The first time, my wife and I had a wonderful dinner and were anxious to return. The second, we too a large group and found the experience equally enjoyable. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal."

  • "This used to be our private neighborhood Italian, now discovered by everyone. The food is great and still reasonable after the price rise. The rose cream sauce is a amazing on anything. The salads are very good and the white chocolate mousse dessert is wonderful.I think they still have the sunday special where you get a quarter bottle of wine with every entree."

  • "Every time we go we love our experience. Our table is always ready when we arrive. The wine is very well priced and the food and service are very good."

  • "The service is always friendly and caring, and this time was no exception. I would have liked the pizza just a bit more done on the bottom, it wasn't as crisp as we remembered. Nice selection of toppings and a generous amount."

  • "We were looking for a place half way between Baltimore and DC to meet with friends. This was the perfect spot. The menu included well prepared standards-some with interesting twists--and the service top notch, We loved being able to customize our pasta dishes from the long list of options. The server was knowledgeable and friendly, providing explanations and recommendations when asked. Tables were well-spaced so we could talk easily throughout dinner. Other places we have tried in this area are so loud that it is almost impossible to have a conversation without screaming. We will definitely go back to Tino's."

  • "Good food, easy reservations, generally quiet, nice wine list. Competitive prices for the area. Nice dining experience. Wife loves the Italian food--is her favorite in the area, so where else would I take her for birthday dinner."

  • "I found this restaurant off of Trip Advisor . A friend and I were traveling to a concert and wanted to eat at a non chain restaurant. We really enjoyed a delicious Italian meal. The menu is extensive. I loved the option of creating my own pasta dish. We shared a bottle of wine that was lovely and not overpriced. Will definitely return next time we are in the area."
