A word from Tin Roof Bistro
After soaking in the TRB’s Santa Barbara mission architecture, you’ll enter and be greeted by a triple arched Brunswick mahogany bar. Large bowls of colorful citrus for making cocktails sit atop a twenty-foot long bar perfect for grabbing a glass of wine or a bite to eat. As you explore further towards the display kitchen, you enter our lounge, also referred to as the wine library. Knotted wood shelves display our wines, divided up by wine region. Windows surround the North side of the dining room, allowing our guests to gaze out onto the fountain in our courtyard. I describe the décor as thoughtful and collective, creating little vignettes for dining areas. We offer two separate outdoor dining experiences: our courtyard with full service and our front porch great for appetizers, drinks and a game of bocce. Continued

  • "Great food and service here. The mix of flavors in their meals is outstanding. My wife had the pork chop and I had the chicken. We each shared each other's and could have swapped meals. They split our ceasar salad before hand. The hand shaken martini's are a nice tableside delivery. Great all around."

  • "The food is consistently very good. The service sets it apart- very attentive and helpful wait staff always makes you feel welcome and like they are really glad you are there. Have never been disappointed in this restaurant. The porterhouse for two special on Thursdays is amazing as are all of the food choices. Strong wine list reasonably priced and some great draft beers. The kids will love the mac n cheese and the pizzas are unique and sized perfectly. Great value-consistently good food- exceptional service, You won't be disappointed."

  • "Tin is the traditional gift for 10 year anniversaries so we choose to go to Tin Roof Bistro! I had salmon over wasabi mashed postatoes which was great. Hubby had red wine braised short ribs over polenta. The portions are on the middle to small size but it was just right. We got the tuna tar tar spring rolls and the basil dipping sauce was amazing! We had the blueberry ginger crumble and the chocolate mousse. They came in small cups which was fun! We loved it!"

  • "Just discovered this place a few months ago and have been back a few times already. Have yet to be disappointed as food, service and ambiance have always been great. This visit I had the pork chop which had been properly brined and then cooked to a perfect medium. Was very impressed as almost every other place will over cook pork or go completely the other direction and serve it too rare. Tough to find consistency these days but I have had good luck with this place."

  • "Our food selections turned out to be excellent. We sat for 10 minutes with acknowledgement. ( Then cocktails were brought after 13 minutes - separately. We were charged for returned items. Extremely poor!) If they can bring service to the level of the kitchen, it's a winner. Otherwise, good luck."

  • "I found this restaurant during a Yelp search for "best restaurants in Manhattan Beach." I was celebrating my 40th birthday in LA. So, I hosted my dinner party here. My expectations were exceeded. The food and service was great. I can't wait to visit LA again and dine at Tin Roof."

  • "Very busy and VERY LOUD making it hard to hear ourselves and making it pretty uncomfortable. The food was ok, but was expensive and not worth the money they charged for the small plates with very few ingredients. My girlfriend ordered the sea bass @ $26.50 and it was about 3-4 oz of fish, some brussel sprout leaves (we counted 3 pieces of actual sprouts) and a few pieces of cauliflower. There were no carbs offered (rice or potato), no bread, no dinner salad, or anything else normally associated with dinner...especially at that price! The oysters were $16 for 1/2 dozen with nothing special about them. We find no reason to return especially with Open Sesame in the same shopping center. It was a $100+ lesson for us."

  • "The flavors were unusual and quite delicious. We ordered the Indian-spiced spinach dip and spicy tuna spring roll appetizers, which were awesome. Loved the Sweet Potato & Roasted Pecan Ravioli, Poached Fig, Bacon and Blue Cheese Pizza and Soy Marinated Scottish Salmon. Finished with the Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse - yum. The restaurant was busy, but service was excellent, attentive - but not too much. Only negative is it was noisy, not a good place for an intimate conversation at dinner time."

  • "My misgivings about the rather uninspiring location of Tin Roof bistro were quickly allayed by its energetic and joyous atmosphere, filled with people enjoying themselves. The food is quite good with a reasonable selection. The osso bucco was cooked until tender and flavorful. Wine and beer selection good, servers were extremely efficient, helpful, and unobtrusive."

  • "This little bistro is a gem, right in the heart of Manhattan Village. Trouble is, now everyone knows about it! I have only been there for lunch, but I have a feeling that shoppers/office workers AND Ladies Who Lunch all go there. So it is crowded and very loud. I don't know about the evenings, but given the quality of the food and the added attraction of bocce ball, I can only imagine! Nevertheless, the food is worth the noise. Their signature dish is their roasted brussel sprouts, and their soups are innovative and interesting. I had the rainbow carrot soup the other day and it was amazing. I suggest if you want to go, savor the food and miss the crowds by going around 2:00. Be sure to look at the decor. Check out the tin roof (ceiling)!"

  • "We all had an enjoyable dinner. This place was very crowded so it was really loud inside as we ate. We did have the best table away from most of the crowd but it was still hard to hear each other. We had a dozen oysters to share, they were not very big or very flavorful. The brussel sprouts were really good and so was the spicy tuna spring rolls. Everyone who had the sea bass enjoyed their dinner. The salmon was good. The pappardelle and chicken were just okay."

  • "The food is always excellent but the service is hit or miss. My last visit was with a small group for a special occasion and our server was completely indifferent the day of our visit. She had a sour look on her face the whole time and did not follow up with us for anything and in fact appeared to be missing whenever we were looking for her. That said, the food was exceptionally good that day, and thank goodness that other team members attended to us once asked. We will definitely return but do not want the same server again."

  • "This such a perfect restaurant to meet people who come from Santa Monica, and other west side areas. I live PV, so it is kind of a half way point meeting place . Food is decent, service is efficient reservations are honored on time. Management obviously knows how to run a good eatery so that people will come back! The noise level is pretty intense, but if u try to get a table that is on the edge of the big room, or outside, it is better."

  • "Great restaurant, with a lovely mission-style back patio tucked away charmingly so one had no feeling of being yet in another bland, non-nondescript SoCal shopping center. Went there for lunch with my husband and Tin Roof, found on Open Table, was a hit. Cooking skill often shows particularly well in small, simple dishes, which I had. My choices were extraordinary good. I ordered the caramelized Brussels sprouts, recommended by another OT-reviewer, potato soup, and grilled pita bread. Ah - yum! My husband's Nicoise sandwich was totally OK, but it was not what we would have expected. Experimental approaches to classics can be successful, but this wasn't an example of that. It was too far of a digression, but interesting and well prepared."

  • "I used to avoid them at all costs but no longer. I'm now a fan of this version anyway- decadent and scrumptious ! I also had a sweet and savory pizza with roasted fig and blue cheese. I enjoyed the combo of favors but would have preferred the figs be smaller pieces over more area. My friend had the curried chicken sandwich and she said it was excellent ! I will return for sure."

  • "The porterhouse steak was excellent, but we had to wait awhile for a retry. The first time was slightly overcooked and had a sauce spread over the entire steak which I had previously indicated we didn't want. The Napa cabbage slaw was good. The Caramelized Brussels Sprouts tasted very burnt. Probably the worst part of the meal. We enjoyed the shoestring fries with garlic aioli. The broccolini was not very tender in the stems Red wine selection in glasses was not too good. We tried two pinot noirs and one cab. Probably will not go back for a special occasion."

  • "My daughter suggested the restaurant and it did not disappoint! We all had different entree's and they were all good! I had the Sunday special, Fish en Papillote (fresh pacific lingcod with veggies and herbs steamed in a parchment packet) it was delicious! My daughter had the featured pizza Poached Fig, Bacon and Blue Cheese Pizza mozzarella, garlic, thyme, fig syrup) and loved it! and my friend had the fish and chips. We all shared her chips! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend."

  • "Make a reservation (Open Table) - We arrived on time on a Sat afternoon and it was packed, we waited about 10 minutes for our table. There is both indoor and outdoor (a patio out front and one inside to the right) seating. Definitely worth sitting outside on a warm sunny day. They have a 1/2 sandwich, cup of soup and small salad lunch special, 3 of us ordered this with different sandwiches. All seemed to enjoy their sandwiches but those with au jus found it a challenge to dip the sandwich in the container supplied (tomato bisque was excellent). The 4th had fish & chips - this is served with shoe string fries which were very good but cooled quickly since we were outside. The fish was good but would have like a larger portion for the price."

  • "All I can say is those were the most memorable brussel sprouts I have ever eaten!!!! Will return for those alone. Also loved the Tuscan Caesar salad. So yummy!!!! And the Chicken with root veggies and faro. Delicious!!! Okay, broke down and tried the Bittersweet chocolate mousse. Sinfully memorable. Wish it wasn't so loud. But it was a Friday night at 7pm so you cannot blame them. Great new find!!!! And I drove in from Studio City because I heard such fabulous things. It was worth the gas!!!!"
