Diner Reviews
  • "The first plate was a crabcake appetizer. The 2 cakes were the diameter of a silver dollar and a 1/2 thick. I thought it was a joke when she brought it out. I would have been ok with 4 cakes being this small but it was not worth the $. I ordered and received a seared Beef tenderloin. Have you seen the commercials on TV making fun of really small portions? This entree was one of those. A full plate with a 2 1/2" long piece of meat stacked on 3 small potatoes and a few peices of mushroom. for 28$ entree it was a child portion. This is the first place my wife and I have been that we felt ripped off!! We were still hungry ! I love Nashville and reside here and this the only place in town we have experienced that. We are not big eaters either!"

  • "My girlfriend and I went for dinner, average food nothing really stood out. However we have heard Tin Angel is known for its brunch. So we will be going back for that."

  • "Interesting, not your run-of-the-mill menu, with just the right amount of seasonings."

  • "My boyfriend and I went for restaurant week. There was a wide variety of items on the price fixe menu for a reasonable price. All of the dishes were creative, but inviting, leaving for a delightful, incredibly delicious meal of both comfort foods with a twist as well as more impressive culinary endeavors. We chose different dishes and enjoyed taking bites of each others meals for a very diverse dining experience. We can't wait to go back and try more of what this Nashville Original Gem has to offer!"

  • "Visiting our son in Nashville, so we chose the restaurant based on reviews. And all the great reviews were right!mglad we went."

  • "Tin Angel never disappoints. You can always count on quality food, properly prepared, attractively plated and promptly served with appropriate attention given during the meal. The menu is innovative and prices are moderate."

  • "I went here with a group of 6 to celebrate my birthday and we were all extremely dissapointed with our service. Our waitress was absent, rude and not pleasant to deal with. It took her over 30 minutes to 'locate' their special menu for restaurant week. Granted our reservation was at 8:45PM and were starving by the time she actually helped. When asked to take a group picture she held her finger up and looked annoyed to be asked such a question. . Needless to say it was pretty obvious she didn't care due to the 18% gratuity already included. The food was great but that's about the only thing."

  • "The food was very good, started off with shrimp bisque, very rich in flavor. And the caramel chocolate cake for dessert was to die for. However the noise level was almost unbearable. It was hard go have a conversation and the background noise made it almost uncomfortable."

  • "Had a great evening with my son and two of his friends at Tin Angel. The food was awesome. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Wine by the glass reasonable selection. Ambiance perfect as it was cozy and warm and quiet for talking. I would go back regularly when in the area"

  • "We chose The Tin Angel recently as part of Nashville Restaurant Week. I thought the prix fixe menu for the week was innovative (not what was on the regular menu) and all the courses together only came to $20.14 (for 2014, naturally), which was exceptionally reasonable, just as their customary menu is as well. The presentation, quality of ingredients and unique flavors of our dishes were nothing short of outstandeing! The atmosphere is lively yet not too loud to talk, and the lighting is low enough to provide a sense of intimacy despite all the tables being full around us. I can't say enough good things about our experience here. This restaurant has been around for many years, a real testament to owner Rick Bolsom and his fine staff."

  • "Our Restaurant Week meal was delicious and the portions were just the right size for a wonderful three-course dinner."

  • "It was perfect for two women who wanted to chat and dine at their own pace. Food was good, as always, service was good. We had no complaints. Valet parking a necessity."

  • "I had dinner with colleagues. Everything was great, but our table by the front windows seemed to really amplify the noise. It was harder to talk than I had hoped. However, I've been coming here for years, and I will return."

  • " I have wanted to eat her for a long time so when we were in Nashville this time we made a reservation. We were seated promptly when we arrived. Service was good. The restaurant was a little loud and it would be difficult to talk if you had a large party. We both enjoyed our food. Parking can be an issue but we were lucky. We would eat here again."

  • "We've been going for years and yet they've recently closed for lunch and are only open for dinner. They are open on Sundays which we appreciate as many restaurants in our 'hood are not. They have innovative specials plus old favorites, vegetarian options too, we like to sit in the front room as the back one can get loud with the tin ceiling and brick walls"

  • "Our experience at Tin Angel was very pleasurable. My wife had the Potato Crusted Flounder and I had the Shrimp and Lobster Risotto. Both of our meals were cooked and seasoned tp perfection. We dined early, so crowds were not a problem, the restaurant had a nice ambience and character. We will dine there again and recommend to friends."

  • "As always, high expectations were satisfied. From warm greeting and prompt seating to dessert the food and service was exemplary. We can always count on Chef's creations that are not run of the mill standard fare. Delightful food and service is the standard at Tin Angel."

  • "We had another wonderful meal here. The problem? No lunch service anymore!!! There are so few great places like Tin Angel and the loss of lunch hours is being mourned by many like me who live and work in the West End area. Please reconsider!"

  • "One person had the angel burger and enjoyed it. One person had the vegetable paella and raved about it and I had the lamb chops the mashed potatoes were to die for and the haricot verts were cooked perfectly. Did not care that much for the pistachio topping on the lamb"

  • "I return to the Tin Angel every year to celebrate my birthday dinner with longtime friends in Nashville, though I moved away 14 years ago. It is always a high point of my trip and a lovely event I look forward to every year."

  • "This was our first time at Tin Angel and the food and service were both excellent! The food was delicious and served very quickly. The portions were filling without being overwhelming which allowed us to also enjoy one of their amazing desserts!"

  • "We arrived shortly after the downpour began and we greeted by two very pleasant hostesses and shown to our table. Our server, Amanda, was excellent. She walked us through the pix fixed menu, showed us the cocktail options and shared her favorites from the menu. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the seafood risotto was spectacular."

  • "This is my sons favorite restaurant, so we went for his 17th birthday. He's a vegetarian and it's not always easy to find places with multiple options. All of the appetizers looked great and we ended up with 3. Fried green tomatoes, watermelon bites with feta, and a fried goat cheese salad. Each was delicious, as was our main courses and dessert. It was a lovely night."

  • "The Tin Angel staff were great in allowing a good friend and I to take our time dining and catching up. We never felt hurried, like in some restaurants that just want to turn tables. Great meal, too! The vegetable paella was superb!"

  • "Went to Tin Angel on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were both outstanding. Glad to see people eating out; however, noise level was so high that at a table for four, it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Reservations are highly recommended."

  • "Nice restaurant, but we might have caught them on an off night. Fig appetizer was overcooked and dry. Steak frites came out cold. Everything needed salt."

  • "waitress was poor. had to ask for refills then waited too long for them. wasn't very attentive. polenta crusted trout lacked flavor. peppers topping it were cold and didn't go well with hot fish. orange saffron risotto was excellent. old antique tables are awful to sit at. valet was excellent. couldn't quite figure out what this restaurant was. no manager/owner ever came by to ask how things were. not in a hurry to go back. Mazzianos across the street is better food and service. rather go there or j Alexander's down the street."

  • "Bacon wrapped figs were super delicious! Ended up asking for a second order. Shrimp and Lobster Risotto was excellent!! Med Salad had tons of flavor for a lighter entree. The Bacon Burger looked tasty too. Service was definitely lacking. Sat down and no one came to take our drink orders for quite some time. When she did, she just brought water and walked away. Had to wave her over to get a cocktail, order dinner, get the check, etc. We left happy though... the food definitely made of for the lack of service!!!"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. While I am disappointed they are no longer open for lunch, their dinner menu is as great as ever. This is a beautiful restaurant and is a great place to sit and visit with friends while having a wonderful dinner. The noise level allows for a conversation which is not always the case in a restaurant. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. Totally recommend Tin Angel for its food and wonderful ambiance."

  • "Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Tin Angel. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and all of our meals were delicious- chicken, steak, pork, seafood! Our server was friendly and very sweet, just seemed she had too many tables to wait on. We will definitely return"

  • "My husband and I were looking for a romantic evening out while visiting Nashville. We had a lovely dinner here. I had the veal and my husband had the chicken. Both were delicious. The fried green tomato appetizer was also very good as was the strawberry key lime pie. The service was pleasant and the ambiance was nice - low lighting, a large fireplace, exposed brick. Nice place for a special occasion and reasonably priced."
