The live Sinatra style music was fun. and not so loud we couldn't speak to each other. It is a bit pricey but not at all pretentious. We shop, and eat at other restaurants in Hyde Park from time to time and decided to try Timpano for dinner. We were very glad we did! The sea scallop entree was excellent, as was the roasted salmon. Everything was prepared and presented well, and served hot. We had a great outside table and the service was excellent - not pushy, but informed and well-paced. It was a very Mediterranean salad with a light vinaigrette dressing olives and blue cheese. The cocktails were excellent. My friend had the salmon and I the petite fillet. Both beautifully prepared and plated. The steak was ala carte so I also have the asperagus which were beautifully grilled.

I had the filet with the bourbon peppercorn sauce and it was amazing. One of the best steaks I have had in months. The restaurant was a little noisy due to several large parties having a good time, but the service was great. Next time I will choose to sit outdoors. It will probably be quieter.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
