  • "I use Timpano like my conference room, but with food and wine."

  • "Birthday party of 5. Scallops were great. Veal parmesan was hard to cut even with steak knife. Chicken Marsala just OK. Double pork chop was dry and not a double.. just a pork chop. Mussel appetizer was delicious. Sides were all tasty. Request for butter brought 3 frozen dollops for 5 of us. Cocktails a bit weak. Wait staff & Hostess very pleasant. Will go again and either send food back or let waitress know of any issues. They were clearing dishes while we were still eating but stopped when told to stop."

  • "This is a pricey restaurant, so I expect service to correlate with the pricing. When we arrived at the maitre D's stand, the Manager was busy on the phone with his back to us. How rude!!! While the food was good, I was perturbed to be told that the bar didn't have small bottles of sparkling water or soda water. My only option was to purchase a gigantic 1litre bottle of Pelligrino. I can't understand why this restaurant ( that calls itself fine dining) cannot stock smaller bottles of Pelligrino, like the other fine dining establishments in the area. Also, our server was never around, such that we had to wait forever for each course. Just annoying!!! Probably wouldnt be back when I can go to Morton's and get a better experience."

  • "We had a reservation, they were ready for the three of us when we arrived and seated us immediately. Great service throughout the evening, the food came out when expected and was delicious. Great spot for families with toddlers who still want a nice dining experience. Highly recommend."

  • "I love the ambiance here - nice Italian chophouse feeling in the dining area, but you can hear the live music playing in the bar area, which really energizes the atmosphere. The bar is also a great after-dinner hangout. Our server, John, was amazing. The scallops and the lamb shank were both delicious. The grilled mussels are always amazing. We've been here many times & will continue to patronize them."

  • "My date took me here - the food was delicious. I had the scallops over polenta - it was awesome. He had the sirloin steak - delicious, as well. I literally cut it with a butter knife. We ate late, so there weren't many diners. There was a happening older crowd having fun at the bar, listening to the classics of the 80s. It looked like fun. Fortunately, they weren't too loud to disrupt our conversation. It was my date's birthday and when I mentioned that, the wait staff brought us over a slice of cake to share. It was moist and flavorful. I'd recommend this place and would go back again."

  • "This was my first time at this restaurant. My son and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu."

  • "My friend and I arrived early as our schedule had changed. This was not a problem The service was outstanding in every respect and the food was incredible! A perfect dining experience."

  • "I dined there with 3 others and their meals actually were very good. Mine however was not. I ordered the eggplant but had a hard time finding it under all the cheese and breading. Also we were charged for bottled water $6 that we did not order. I would have questioned the waitress but did not want to make a scene as we were late for a show. I would return though."

  • "I met a friend for dinner at 7:30 on Friday night. We had a wonderful time until the live band started playing. At that point, conversation became very difficult and we wrapped up the evening. The band plays Wed-Sat, beginning about 8:30. If you want the vibrant bar scene, go then (the bar was mobbed). If you want conversation, be finished before the band starts, or come instead on Sun-Tues. I really like Timpano's but it's got to be a non-band night for me."

  • "Quqlity, non trendy dining. Menu is well presented and our meal was prepared just as described by staff. A dining atmosphere with attention to service, drink & food, not gimmicks Bar scene is busy but not intrusive. Mussels are superb"

  • "With so many restaurants on The Pike, Timpano probably isn't the first place on your list to dine at. It should be. While their selections are limited (They do offer lunch at this time too), they all sounded tempting. French toast, waffles, and three types of Eggs Benedict. Go for the Crab cake version. It's delicious. It's unique. It's served on toasted naan and topped w/ a spicy Chipotle sauce and goat cheese crumbles, So much better than Hollandaise sauce! The only recommendation I'd have for the restaurant is to post their Brunch menu on their website. I can only assume not that many locals know they offer this option, and that's a shame, because for a steakhouse, they make a memorable brunch that I am sure to come back to."

  • "My wife and I went here for our belated Valentine's Day dinner. While the food was good, the price was higher than it should have been for the portion sizes, and our waiter could have checked back more frequently than he did. All in all, we had a good time, and that's all that counts."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "...for ambiance but we didn't know there would be a band on Valentine's night. The band was fine, great actually, just LOUD. What was supposed to be a quiet, romantic dinner for two was punctuated with "WHAT?" "COME AGAIN?" "HUH?" because all we could hear was ear-splitting music. So for "noise level" I'd have preferred to choose the option "deafening; unable to communicate." We will return...we just need to double-check on the live-music status, that's all."

  • "This restaurant has delicious food. Unfortunately, if you get seated in the main room, you won't be able to hear yourself think. The noise is deafening. We lucked out and got seated in a small room off to the side. Very nice and quiet. The food was delicious. I have been here three times, and the food is consistent. We had a terrible waiter which can make your whole experience bad."

  • "Celebrated Valentines Day with my Wife at Timpano Italian Chophouse and the overall experience was great. The wine selection was outstanding and our meals was fantastic. We made reservations ahead of time and arrive a bit early and was seated immediately. The the receptionist and Wait Staff were all pleasant and was receptive to all our needs throughout the evening. My Wife and I both elected to have steak and various side dishes, and everything was seasoned to perfection. This is our second time visiting Timpano, and each visit was special and personable. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants a warm and delicious meal for any occasion, not just Valentines Day."

  • "We were a party of four who arrived on time and got sat immediately. We all enjoyed our meals; mine was an exception. I ordered a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp. It didn't look appetizing and the shrimp were small but tastes just okay. Oh, and it had only one crouton! I would visit again but not for salad."

  • "I asked for the booth with good lights via Open Table, but the hostess put us in the sunroom. we were not comfortable with the small round table and asked her to move us to the booth. She said something like we did not ask for the main room and then walked away. We were upset. A little later, one of the waiters was helpful to move us to the booth. We appreciate his thoughts. The manager came to our booth and asked if everything was OK. We replied, Yes. In spite of it, we had a great time. Timpano Restaurant is one of our favorite."

  • "My girlfriend and myself both work two jobs--she's a writer and a veterinary technician, I work for a museum and a shipping company. There was one night in the entire week of Valentine's day we both had off, and...it happened to be the day of the worst snowstorm in almost two decades. I called Timpano at 3pm, they weren't sure they would have any staff able to get there, asked me to call back at 4. I called back, and they said they would be open! We arrived at 5:30 to find the restuaunt fully staffed, open, and ready to go by 5:30. The service was fantastic, the food was great, the resturaunt was perfect. We could see the storm outside piling up snow, and there were only four or five tables occupied, but they stayed open, and awesome."

  • "I really liked the ambience here as it felt very much like a dark steak house with great music. I'd even go so far to say that the booths are rather romantic. HOWEVER! The food was just "okay", in no way warranting the steep prices associated with dining there. I enjoy dining at expensive places from time to time - but the food has to be the cornerstone of the dining experience. I don't see myself returning to Timpano."

  • "Timpano's is on the pricey side so you would expect a really nice experience. While our food was of good quality and our waiter did a good job, we sat among some tables in the main dining area near the front door and it felt like we were in McDonald's - lots of activity, cold drafts and we could hear clearly the conversations of nearby tables which were spaced very closely together. This situation was compounded by the overall noise level of the restaurant which is very high."

  • "Dinner at Timpano's was a great start to a wonderful date night evening. We enjoyed the mussels (as did every other table, it seemed), the calamari, the chicken piccata and the caeser salad with blackened chicken. The cocktails were great too. The food was excellent. We tried to keep it light, since we were off to a show at Strathmore for the balance of the evening. Great service as well. Compliments to the chef!"

  • "1. Made reservation 3 weeks ahead because we were meeting friends there. Nevertheless, we were seated at the very back corner/ kitchen traffic area, in a cramped booth. Several times, rather unexpectedly, some waiter or other would lean over the wall side of the booth to refill a water glass or remove a used plate. 2. Do not order the meatball appetizer. The meatballs are cold. 3. Entrees undistinguished and lack flavor. Desserts very generous in portion, but still low on the flavor scale. Our waiter did his best and was very attentive. It was not his fault we were seated in the alley, and obviously he had no way of knowing he was serving us cold food."

  • "My husband and I were going to the Strathmore music center for the first time and were looking for a good place for an early dinner before the show. Timpano's, which was recommended to us based on reputation, fit the bill nicely. My cocktail was excellent and the food was very good. The only caveat was that the polenta under my pan-seared scallops was barely warm. The scallops were piping hot, which was the really important part. My husband enjoyed his Osso Bucco and took about half of it home since it was a very large portion. The only thing about the ambiance is that I personally am not a fan of open kitchens, and I was seated facing it, which was a little distracting. The service was the real standout-pleasant and professional."

  • "Atmosphere and service were excellent. Our waiter was both patient and attentive. The menu is extensive and helpfully detailed. The Osso Buco over Wild Mushroom Risotto was heavenly. My friend said the Shrimp Fra Diavolo was appropriately spicy and not wimpy as he has found some other fra diavolo sauces to be. The list of wine by the glass and bottle gave a nice variety of choices. The dessert menu was very appealing and tough to turn down. In summary, this is an excellent restaurant to which I will return."

  • "We went to Timpanos for my Birthday. It was a wonderful experience. When my husband made the reservation he put in the comments that it was my bday they brought me out dessert with a candle. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, the service not so good. That was our first time there we will go back and try the service again."

  • "Overall a very well balanced experience and not too pricy, veal chop was delicious. Highly recommendeed for routine bit upscale dining and fun and pleasant ambiance."

  • "This was not my first experience dining at Timpano. I ordered the Salmon which was good. However, if your desire is to share a conversation with your dining partner, this may not be the best choice. There was a live band in the bar area (which was very good) but made it very difficult to talk and listen due to the loud music. I must also add, we had late reservations (8 pm) and if the desire is to have a more intimate dinner, it probably would be a better to dine earlier."
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "Food was ok, not great. oversalted their best dish - grilled mussels. Too bad - they are outstanding at Timpano when they are prepared just right. Our waiter was almost overly attentive at the beginning of the meal, but completely ignored us at the end. We sat for almost an hour after our plates were cleared hoping he'd come by to refill coffee and water and let us order dessert. Finally we snagged another waitress and asked for our waiter to just give us a check. At least it's a nice enough restaurant to sit in and just hang out."

  • "Two weeks ago we where in and had a fabulous waiter. Last Friday night we had a waitress and she keep messing up everything. The manger came over and apologized and comp our appetizers. The at the end the waitress came over and said dessert was on her."

  • "I recently went to Timpano's for a friend's birthday and we had a great time. I had been there before but it was at least a year prior. I had a drink at the bar first and that was probably the worst part of my experience. The bartender was very loud and obnoxious, and could not seem to understand/remember what my friend and I ordered. At dinner, we had a very nice waitress who was attentive and made great suggestions. The food was very good and my favorite item- the mussels- is still my favorite. They were absolutely delicious! I ordered the chicken piccata which was very good as well. Everybody at my table enjoyed their food so it was a great time. Will definitely return!"

  • "Nice menu selection, good variety. Ordered meatballs for an appetizer -- phenomenal choice! Big dish, good enough for a meal, actually. A bit noisy, hard to hear conversations. Excellent service and lovely live entertainment provided. Looking forward to going back."

  • "Food is consistently delicious, if you haven't had the mussels you are missing out. Steaks are done to perfection; I haven't had a menu item that made me walk away unsatisfied. Had the mussels with a NY strip and sautéed spinach. Cooked perfect and was delicious. Wonderful bottle of Caymus Cabernet off their top notch wine list. Then we settled in for live music. Great night!!!"

  • "Went to Timpano for dinner the second time in two or three weeks. As always, the food was just excellent. This time, the service was also excellent. However, for the second time in a row, our Open Table reservation was not credited. Both times, we arrived shortly before our reserved time. Both times, we mentioned our reservation when checking in. We then enjoyed wonderful meals. Both times, however, we subsequently received email notifications that we had NOT shown up for our reservation, and we had to contact Open Table to have the dinners credited to our account. Open Table corrected the situation each time, but be advised: Timpano has a problem on their end crediting your Open Table reservations."
