They couldn't find my open table reservation, despite my having email confirmation to show them. Consequently, we were stuck in the lounge area, away from the main dining area.

We had the dinner buffet and it was horrible. Food was greasy, flavorless and the AuGratin potatoes were dry. Breakfast Buffet was horrible too. Biscuits and gravy were cold. Bacon and hash browns were undercooked and the eggs were rubbery. I would actually like an entire refund. Both meals were a disaster and we were there to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It put a damper on our entire stay and we spent a lot of money. Disappointment completely.

Cobwebs visible. Server, especially dinner server was very slow and there was a buffet so our ordered items should not have taken so long. Apple pie was okay.

I would have to say, for the price, you must be paying for ambiance. The food was plain, and simple and definitely not worth the price for brunch. I would not recommend.

All entrees, first courses, brie, desserts were good, except my husband didn't like the cauliflower entree. At the bar, I asked for Sangria, the bartender didn't know what that was and you don't have it; a bit disappointing, so I had a White Russian. We have been several times for brunch, a beer in the bar, dinner; we enjoy the food and the service has always been good.

We went for our anniversary and you can't get into the restaurant till 5pm. Went to the bar and bought a bottle of wine. Great time. Went to restaurant at 5, amazing waitress and food was really hood. Had a great table by the window. Breakfast was a different story. We had nice table by window, but a waitress that was not a people Person and wasn't friendly at all. The food was in the most part cold and bland. We will not be making a trip down there again. Good luck if you do.

The atmosphere at the Timber Dining Room was great, scenic views from every table. Our server was amazing and excited about the new menu items. We enjoyed the market salad, served with a warm crusty baguette and a really yummy house made compound nut butter. I loved the salmon, it was perfectly prepared! It was served with a carrot mousse and cranberry quinoa which really complimented the sweetness of the salmon. Then we found our way to the scenic patio for dessert. Our waitress brought us a couple great cups of coffee and the pineapple upside down bundt cake under the stars. The patio was lively and everyone was really enjoying the view and the weather. We liked it so much we made reservations for brunch and it did not disappoint!

We come there a couple times a month from Omaha. It took 45mins for burnt burgers. Management never came to table. The waitress appeared to have way to many tables, and I doubt we'll spend our hard earned money there again, anytime soon..

The Lied Lodge is a stunning building in a beautiful location. All it needed to be a first class establishment was a first class restaurant - and now it has it. I've long wished I could recommend the Timber Dining Room, but previous visits have been less than inspiring. Not so now - the place is great! We had an excellent meal there Saturday night. They still have plenty in the way of slabs of beef for the average Nebraskan, but the must have hired a chef who can prepare more than just rib-eyes. We will be taking more trips to Nebraska City to dine here.

The locally sourced food and wine; along with the chef's vision was a wonderful experience in dining. The vision some people had years ago about this place is coming to fruition. Go with it. Grow with it. This might just be the crown jewel in the state of Nebraska.

This was probably our 4th or 5th visit. Always before, we ordered from the menu. This time we decided to eat from the buffet and we were very disappointed. The choices of meat were dry and too well done. Even for the prime rib, we were told that rare was not an option. With that being said, we enjoyed the location, ambiance and the server was kind and pleasant. We will gladly visit again, but our advice is... Order from the menu for a freshly prepared meal.

We arrived towards the end of the brunch reservations period. A lot of the appetizer and anti-pasta was gone and no indication that it was going to be replaced. I did not expect that it would, as the number of diners continued to dwindle as the clock approached closing time. My observation/recommendation only would be that diners plan on an early arrival, to not miss out on the salmon and capers and other tasty viands.

Timber Dining Room inside Lied Lodge is a great find in Nebraska City. The scenery and cuisine is a surprise in Nebraska City and well worth the trip from Omaha. They had just started using a new menu a few days before we arrived and the servers were knowledgeable about the new menu and gave valuable recommendations. We loved the short rib appetizer - plate-licking good - and both had the salmon dinner, which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Parts of the buffet meal we had were very good, particularly the shrimp, parts were poor (the prime rib was tasteless and tough, and the carrot cake was really dry), and the rest was pretty much average. Considering the cost plus gratuity came to over $30, I would have to classify the meal as disappointing.

There was plenty of food and the food seemed fresh and was excellent taste-wise. The waitress was friendly and attentive. My family always enjoys our dining experience at timber dining room at Lied Lodge. The building is beautiful. The food and service are always above and beyond excellent. The variety and quality of the brunch buffet is exceptional — this year the salmon was alone worth the drive to Nebraska city, but we enjoyed our other choices as well.

The presentation was beautiful and appealing...the atmosphere is outstanding, but the taste of most things was not the greatest...needed more flavor/spices especially the potatoes and vegetables???? Probably will not go again unless we have visitors from out of state that would travel to Nebraska City to see the view and experience the river community.

We were at the Lied Lodge for the weekend and were really looking forward to trying the restaurant as we'd read many good reviews. Unfortunately when we arrived for dinner we chose to eat at the buffet. The offerings were plenty with salad, soup, shrimp, prime rib, baked potato, flank steak and dessert but the food was "just okay". I really wish we had ordered from the menu as I'm sure it would have been better but that was our fault. We also had breakfast there on two mornings. It too was just okay as well. Though the service was always excellent and the restaurant was clean with wonderful views.
