Diner Reviews
  • "My very favorite place these day! The food is awesome, the service great and I want my house to look like Tillman's! I suggest a Sassy Sara, be sure to grab the sweet potato grits and don't forget the s'mores at the end of your night."

  • "We're from out of town and every time we are in Ft. Worth we make sure to make time for Tillman's. Food is always great, mashed potatoes are amazing but best of all are the Blood Orange Margaritas!! Unique desserts like the s'mores platter and cookie tower are a must. Can't wait to be back in Ft. Worth and hit Tillman's once again!"

  • "We have lived in Ft Worth for a year and have been having a horrible time finding a good restaurant. I am so glad that we found Tillman's! We had 6 people in our party and everyone LOVED their food. Definitely going to frequent this awesome restaurant."

  • "Rustic chic décor is unique & tasteful. First time here for brunch... Highly recommend the goat cheese tater tots & relleno. The egg skillet was a bit dry. They were out of coffee... not the usual, I'm sure, but ouch! Mimosas are affordable & tasty!(warning: pulp)"

  • "I took my in laws here to eat brunch after church. There was only a small crowd compared to night dining. The menu has a lot to offer from the awesome goat cheese tator tots that they always have to the most delicious monkey bread I have ever eaten. And that was just appetizers! The chili rellenos with eggs and pulled pork, ricotta pancakes with poached pears, and the steak an eggs were all amazing as we all shared our dishes. My in laws enjoyed it as myth as I and replied that they would come back."

  • "My wife and I dined at Tillman's for the first time for her birthday. We had an absolutely fabulous time. We started with calamari which was cooked perfectly. The sauces were very tasty as well. For the main courses, we opted for quail (nightly special) and scallops. Both were very well prepared, although the scallops had a little too much salt to call it perfect. We finished with the smores, which were a very special treat. I would definitely go back, but more for special occasions like a birthday."

  • "We just love the food and service at Tillman's!! We live in the area and walk here frequently. We always start with the Lobster tamales which were delightful!! The Quail special was absolutely wonderful and the portion was enough to share. Although we didn't get to be seated with our favorite waiter Sean, we were treated to Taylor's awesome service. The staff always recognizes us and treats us like "neighbors". Hat's off to the Chef! and Thanks to Alex and the gang!!"

  • "Food wad good and so was the service. Get the smores cooked fireside at your table for dessert."

  • "I LOVE the relaxed feel of this place. The decor and atmosphere is fantastic. I felt like we were hanging out with friends in their home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The trio of fries were great and the truffle tater tots were amazing. Four out of six of us had the charred ribs with bacon mac n cheese. The consensus was the same, AMAZING!!! The flavors all went well together. The other two had the venison chili and seared Sea Scallops. They were both excellent with great flavors. The table side smores is a must. It is very unique and adds to the atmosphere. The root beer marshmallows were full of flavor. The cookie tower was fabulous as well. Service was well-timed and friendly."

  • "My wife and I have eaten at the Tillman's in Dallas many times, and decided to try the Fort Worth version prior to the Cowtown Marathon. The menu was slightly different than in Dallas, but all of the mainstays were there and you can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu. They also had two a sea bass special that night that my wife loved, so good job on that. We made an early reservation for 6:15pm and were out of there in 45 minutes with an appetizer. Pretty solid service to move that quick without ever making us feel rushed."

  • "The food was wonderful! We were there for a birthday celebration. The ambience was great, but our service was poor. They made a mistake and served our food to the table next to us. No one acknowledge the mixup. We didn't mind waiting a little longer, but no one apologized or even mentioned that the people next to us that ordered ten minutes after us got their food 15 before us. The only thing our waiter was quick with was getting our bill:-("

  • "Tillman's was a place I had once visited years ago for my birthday and was very excited to take a Valentine's date back to it. The restaurant has a wonderful design and fun decor. The menu is very creative and I highly recommend it for these things. Who doesn't love a trio of fun different fries (like purple potatoes and sweet potatoes) with house made ketchup. The fries were yummy but I felt they could have been cooked longer to ensure crispness. It felt like they may have rushed them out. My lunch item was very tasty and I ended it with the perfect Smore roasting dessert. Biggest disappointment was the service. We were told there was no bar tender there for lunch. Weird for a Friday. Also server seemed very distracted."

  • "The food was amazing. Every bite was delicious. The service was excellent. I asked my girlfriend to marry me on Valentine's day at Tillman's. Our waiter Zach was outstanding and helped pull off the surprise. It was a wonderful evening. I can't thank you all enough."

  • "Tillmans was recommended by a friend....and I'm so glad I took the recommendation! Our original reservation was at 9:15, but we arrived about an hour before and they were able to seat us right away. The appetizers were delicious and the chicken fried steak was like something I've never taste before! Delicious! I will definitely be going back and hope to introduce Tillmans to my friends and family!!"

  • "Reviewing the menu online before our visit, I was shocked at the prices. $27 Chicken Fried Steak as an example. The price was worth every penny! The food was the best experienced in some time. I had the evenings special Ribeye, 16 oz of total pleasure. I ate every last bite of this huge steak and enjoyed every chew. The atmosphere is total Texas so this is a great place to take out of town guests. The service was outstanding and following suggestions of our waiter was wise. The only negative was difficulty having a conversation. The table was too deep to hear the people on the opposite side of the table. It was very uncomforable sitting so far away from each other."

  • "We had what was mostly a great experience at Tillman's Roadhouse. The food and service were outstanding, but I have 2 complaints: 1) I made reservations for my birthday at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday night. The restaurant was empty. We were seated at a table for 2 with no one on either side of us. The tables are very close together as one side is a bench. The hostess ended up seating a table of 4 on both sides of us. I was disappointed they seated everyone so close together when there were plenty of other tables available throughout the restaurant. 2) My husband ordered a special and it was very good with a generous portion. I ordered the filet and the portion was very small. I just wish there would have been more vegetables and some bread."

  • "For those who know their food, you will love this restaurant! Not only does it taste great, but it they seek to fill you up with generous portions. Of course, if you are really ravenous, be sure to order dessert, they are great, too."

  • "Awesome brunch, first time there, food was great, we ordered a bit of everything and had mimosas. They are awesome and $3. Friendly service and the resturant is decorated so beautifully! I am thinking of having a birthday or shower there, they have a nice set up."

  • "A group of us went to Tillman's for a weekday lunch. Our server was cheerful and helpful and we all enjoyed our meals. The trio of fries are delicious, but really filling so we took home some of the rest of our meal. Ribs were tender and flavorful, the meatloaf was good and so were the sandwiches. We would all return again for a wonderful time."

  • "Have been to Tillman's Ft. Worth many times and it never fails our expectations. Food is always wonderful, they change up there menu frequently so it's always a surprise to see what they have added. We love this place!"

  • "Tillman's was packed on New Year's eve but we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Food was great, service was great, and overall a great night although noise level was high but that was to be expected since it was New Year's eve. We will be back soon."

  • "Had reserved table for 7. Was sat next to kitchen at very small table. We had very little arm room. They did give up a small table for out Christams gifts, which was nice. Asked for bigger table but said it was reserved for larger party. Otherwise great service and food was good."

  • "We really enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was ok, he did his job fine, just not personable...at all. Other than that, everyone enjoyed their food, appetizer was slightly small but overall, it was a nice experience."

  • "The food was wonderful, but our waiter was socially awkward and made things weird. I would definitely go back for the food and just hope I get a different waiter. Very cool place. The table side smores were so much fun. There were 3 different flavors of marshmallows. The mint ones taste like toothpaste, though. I would try to switch those out for another kind."

  • "The atmosphere is lovely. However, the food is overpriced for what it is. Ordered the lobster tamales ($18), about 4 bites. Tasted good but only had a few pieces of lobster and was very small. Then ordered the Caesar salad. Really disliked the charred lettuce. Dressing was too citrus-y and there was too much of it. For my entree I ordered the fried steak. It was good but not great for the price."

  • "Our favorite special occasion spot! Great drinks, great food, just the best! Make sure that you save room for the table side S'mores!"

  • "Had a quick business lunch here after meetings downtown. The trio of fries consisted of overly chili powdered blue fries, soggy sweet potato fries, and bland parmesean fries. House made Fritos were good, but paired with a very bland chili that resembled wolf brand consistency. The sandwhich was mediocre. All in all not a terrible meal, just not good either. For the price of $45 for two lunches and one appetizer (water all around), it was overall disappointing. Service was good. Waitress was helpful. But, the food was just really underwhelming."

  • "I followed up from article written few months ago about Tillman's Roadhouse.....we were not disappointed. Everything was fabulous and over the top. We tried lots of new tastes. One of our party normally is a picky eater enjoyed everything he ordered big plus. Dinner prices a bit high, but I can see going more frequently for lunch."

  • "My husband & I loved the lodge decor & low lighting. Fried pickles never tasted better. The Shiner Short Rib was rather puny for the price of $26 & my husband's 14 oz steak was perfect...again, except for the price, $35. I would recommend this place for a special occasion (it was our wedding anniversary) because it's way too pricey for an every weekend dinner."

  • "This restaurant was absolutely fantastic! The chicken fried steak is made with beef tenderloin- simply delicious! I consider myself to be a bit of a "food snob" and this definitely exceeded my expectations. The tableside smores were like nothing else - a must have- fantastic! Beautiful restaurant!"

  • "Excellent restaurant with unique menu items and service was good. Guitar player with sound system and hard surfaces of walls/floors made it unpleasant for conversation. Would reduce sound by 1/2 the level it was Thursday night."

  • "It was our anniversary, and our first time to Tillman's. The weather was perfect, and we chose a table by the window. When I wasn't enjoying the outdoor scene, I was busy taking in the interior! Absolutely beautiful. Very casual atmosphere with enough touch of bling to keep it all interesting! Our server was an absolute delight. The food arrived quickly, and had so many unusual ingredients and/or flavors mixed together... we had to share with each other because each dish was so wonderfully different than anything we'd ever had anywhere. Definitely recommended to our friends (although many of them have enjoyed your restaurant many times before we did)!"

  • "We've been coming here for a couple of years and have always raved about the food. This most recent time we were quite underwhelmed by their Fall menu choices. Tried all new appetizers, entrees, and dessert and all left us disappointed. Most of our favorite items have just disappeared from the menu! Ordered their old classic Cowboy Holiday cocktail (that's not technically offered anymore but they said they could make it for us) and came back tasting like it was made with just lime juice or sweet and sour. We had to water it down quite a bit to make it drinkable."
