Diner Reviews
  • "Let me start by stating that the food (fish dishes) were very good. (However, no free appetizer with online reservation, unlike other posts.) The main problem was that the waiter (Louie) needs serious re-education - or another job. We were rushed to make choices when we were seated, then he ignored our table. My water glass was empty for 25 minutes - he didn't even notice that it was empty when we *finally* flagged him down for the check. VERY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE! There are plenty of other places to visit nearby, with excellent service."

  • "Tiki's designed itself to be another Duke's or Chart House or any other restaurant with beautiful views and local live music to go with the fruity drinks. It was a wonderful dining experience and the waitress was outstanding. The chef put together some great food with decent portion sizes and if you make a reservation on-line you get a free appetizer. They treat the kamaina great I will add Tiki's to my list of places that I would take guests from the mainland or even return with my wife when we would like a night on the town. One advantage of this place compared to others is that it is located on the East side of Waikiki so parking is more accessible then anywhere else on Kalakaua Ave. Just park at the zoo and walk to Tiki's in 2 minutes."

  • "We love Tiki's. It's a tad on the expensive side but the view, food, and drinks are worth it;)"

  • "Had drinks in bar before dinner and listened to live music with hula dancers, which was fun. Had reservation and got patio seating overlooking Waikiki beach. Server was very knowledgeable about menu and food preparation. Made good recommendations, but was a little too heavy on upselling."

  • "We had dined on the bar lanai side to catch the sunset. And we weren't disappointed. We ordered the ahi poke and it was delicious. So delicious we went for it 2 more times. 2 burgers and a tofu salad rounded out our meal. Our waiter Mike did a fantastic job with his recommendations on the 1944 Mai tais and foods were great! Back to LA I go but I'll be back to tikis again!"

  • "Views are outstanding at this restaurant IF you are seated near the edge of the lanai. Even though I made a reservation 3 days in advance, we ended up in the center of the dining area. The food was pricey and very average. Pork loin medallions were tough. Waitress was impatient. I would only go back for the view and pupus, and only if I could be guaranteed a table with a view..."

  • "Our meals were the best ones we had in Waikiki. Our oceanside table had a beautiful sunset view. As we dined a live band was enjoyed by all. Be sure to reserve an oceanside table -- you'll love it!"

  • "My family and I were in Waikiki for 5 nights and had dinner at Tiki's 2 of those nights! The food was even better the second time and we were lucky enough (we booked early) to get a balcony spot with a sunset view. What more could I ask for. The shrimp dish was outstanding as well as the parmesan encrusted chicken. All the staff were warm and welcoming. Tiki's is very accommodating for kids and the Frisbee was a great bonus for them. Everything we ordered was great and above my expectations. Both my wife and I enjoyed the cocktails, she especially loved the lava flow, while I was very happy with pina colada. We will be back next time we are in Waikiki."

  • "This restaurant is everything you are looking for in a Waikiki restaurant. It has the view. It has the drinks. It has the local food. It has the great service. The only issue we had was the wedding party that was there was incredibly loud. Once they left though we had a great experience. The portions were generous and the drinks were 100% Hawaii. Amazing. There is a reason I have been going back for the last 7 years..."

  • "The experience was again amazing. We stayed at the bar and drank delicious Lycheetinis while waiting for our favorite waitress to come on shift. She's always worth the wait. We let her choose our appetizer and had the prime rib poke. AMAZING! It will make you fall in love with Tiki's chef every time you take a bite. I ordered the duck and it was moist, succulent, tender, perfectly seasoned, and appealing just to look at. This is my second time at Tiki's and I definitely consider it my new favorite place. I almost don't want to share my review because I'm afraid it will become too difficult to get a table if people really see what a wonderful establishment this is. Some of THE BEST FOOD ON THE ISLAND!"

  • "Attached to the Aston Hotel off of the pool area on the 2nd floor, some street noise but the one piece band offset it. We were there at 5:30 and had ribs and swordfish... both were above average. Service was hit and miss, server seemed new. Overall quite kitchy and fun though. We will return on our next trip."

  • "Vibrant atmosphere, good food and attentive service! A very nice place to go for a good dinner with views of the beach at sunset. Nice wines too!!!"

  • "The service staff imformed me about their intense training program, but the same attention is needed in the kitchen. Especally in cooking prime rib, which was the special of the evening. First time it was a rare cut and boiled in au jus to cook it to medium. The second attempt, it was sliced off cold roast and served on the chilled side. Otherwise, food was fine."

  • "I would describe the experience as a Tiki laden TGI Fridays visit. For the same price you get a much better meal elsewhere in Waikiki."

  • "This is a fun place to go just to see the Tiki décor. It's right across the street from Waikiki so the view from the lanai is great. The evening we went there was some sort of parade going on for the Honolulu Festival, so it was a little more crowded than it might have otherwise been with all of the extra people who came to the area for the festivities. Despite our reservation, we were seated about 15 minutes late (parade crowd again). Our server was friendly and the drinks were decent. My husband enjoyed his meal, but my chicken dish had a mildly burned flavor to it. Don't come here if you are looking exclusively for a culinary treat, but come if you want to enjoy a restaurant that will take you back to the feel of the1950's in Hawaii."

  • "I found this restaurant while looking for some Hawaiian flavor. The menu seemed to be just what we were looking for. I got the Pot Roast and it was amazing. I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled after such a wonderful meal. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. We went right at sunset and watched the sun go down. Wonderful atmosphere."

  • "Make reservations as this place fills up. Great location though you can't really see the water, the beach is across the street. I had the calamari appetizer for my entree. It was delicious though not warm when I received it. I did complain and it was taken care of, but that was not my intention. We did not get refills on drinks very promptly. Ask for water for your table as it is on "request". We wanted dessert but were frustrated with the service so we didn't wait around. We saw this listed on several web sites and it was very convenient, took reservations and was a fun atmosphere. Had read that their Happy Hour time is a great deal, but we will try and few other places."

  • "We chose Tiki's Grill because of the gluten free menu choices. Both my husband and I chose the glazed butterfish entrée which was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. The service was attentive even though the restaurant was very busy. We did make a reservation and were able to sit on the lanai to have a good view of the sunset. Prices were moderate for Waikiki."

  • "I tried their prime rib, end cut, for the first time. It was tasty but a little dry. Next time I'll try a regular cut."

  • "Great food.... Wonderful location. Service very good.. Nathan was great. You do save money hear, all waterfront are real expensive. The saving hurt with cheap table and chairs. Chairs are hard and uncomfortable ... Restuarant needs an update. Try to sit away from noisy bar, with live music. Food came out slow... But even with all said ... The great food ...wonderful service and reasonable prices, make this a winner."

  • "Had lunch here on my last day on Oahu. Made the reservation last minute but didn't have to wait long. Had a table outside with a nice beach view. Bit crowdy place but it's the kind of place that should be a bit more crowdy and noisy. Would definitely come again."

  • "Led by a local to this spot. Friendly wait staff, but food was blah, steak over cooked, swordfish nothing special, and ribs that had rubber bones...would not come back."

  • "The food was wonderful. We got off to a slow start with service. Our waitress didn't come over but another waitress noticed and took care of us. She was amazing and the rest of the night was fun and special. I will go here every year for Valentine's Day from now on. This might quickly become our new favorite restaurant."

  • "Dinner reservations at sunset, sitting outside with an ocean view, then the tiki torches were lit - a beautiful setting. The restaurant was quite full for early dinner but not too noisy to enjoy conversation or relax and enjoy the surroundings. The parmesan chicken and Mac Nut Crusted Mahi dishes were delicious, so were the taro rolls with flavored butter! We opted out of appetizers so we could indulge in desserts - the Hawaiian Smores and Kona Coffee Dream Cake were scrumptious. Romulo, our server, was excellent; friendly, attentive, charming and knowledgeable about the menu. He encouraged us to enjoy our evening and linger over dessert with coffee/tea - a perfect birthday dinner in paradise!"

  • "The bar/patio is fun and upbeat, louder atmosphere for fiends and groups. Inside dinning quieter and can be good for couples and families. The food is good, service is friendly, Dinner menu a little pricey but not outrageous."
