Diner Reviews
  • "My food was excellent, my service was not. The restaurant/bar (and perhaps my server) was somewhat busy, typical for a friday night, but it took ten minutes to receive the glass of wine I ordered. Water was also not quickly forthcoming. Once my entree had arrived, I had to ask the server for the (complimentary?) rolls. Only after my dishes were cleared were my menus/wine list also removed from my table. On the bright side, my cajun Swordfish was nicely prepared, with brown rice replacing the pasta. Caesar salad volcano was visually appealing, and light (thank you) on the dressing."

  • "While this restaurant caters for children the food was pretty ordinary. The fish was grossly over cooked and while the flavours were nice everything seemed to have a lot extra fat."

  • "The service (especially Kaitlin) was excellent, thoughtful and attentive to our large party! Everyone was happy with their food selections some were our server recommendations. Everything was delicious and the portions were very large. We especially enjoyed the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer, the Mac nut crusted mahi and the ribs. You really can't go wrong with any of the choices! Reasonably, actually under priced for the quality and portions. Can't wait to return!"

  • "We ate at Tiki's our last night in Honolulu. We were looking for somewhere special to mark the end of our trip and Tiki's didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, Hawaiian fare. I particularly loved the crab and three cheeses dip. The service was great and we had a beautiful view of Waikiki beach for the sunset. We have two children and the Tiki's children's (Keiki) menu had lots of options for them as well as colouring-in and other activities to help keep them occupied. It was the perfect end to the trip for us."

  • "Good place solid food, pretty large - seats hundreds of people. Short menu, everything was prepared well if not memorably. Had the pot roast - the puree was excellent. Others had the Prime Rib Tartare (cooked medium well?) and the Beach Boy Seafood Festival thing. Not a festival, more of a house party. Ok. Ok. Ok."

  • "We go here every time we visit Waikiki and have never been disappointed, Staff great."

  • "Had read all the reviews, but none of them truly described Tikis. To be fair we have 13 people for dinner. The location, food & service all missed the mark & when compared to other dining options in Waikiki is not one that I would recommend. Perhaps we just got a bad night, but the prices & the quality of food & service are not commensurate. There is nothing special at all about the food, the cocktails ordered from Margaritas (frozen), Mojitos, Maitais were very average, in fact underwhelming & mostly delivered to the wrong recipient. Tikis is ok for a casual dinner which you pay prices associated with some of the best restaurants on the island."

  • "We went here to close out our vacation in Oahu. The food was good quality and the portions generous. We couldn't ask for a better view overlooking Waikiki beach. Our server Lui was especially attentive."

  • "I took my family here for a special night out. Since we had reservations, they sat us at a table closest to the beach with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Their food was absolutely delicious, and our waiter was very personable as well as knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely go back again."

  • "I bring visitors and clients here whenever they visit Oahu for the first time. Itʻs conveniently located on Waikiki and the food is always excellent. My favorite thing to do is to order from the pupu menu so everyone shares things tapas style."

  • "The food was good, the service was not. I understand that it is a busy restaurant that mostly has tourists. There are too many other restaurants to choose from to deal with random service. We will not return."

  • "Don't know how we overlooked this place on our visit to Waikiki last year but won't be doing that again. I booked your restaurant for our first night in Waikiki and having booked for 6pm we were lucky enough to have a table overlooking the beach. What a way to start our holiday. The food and service was outstanding. Our party of 4 enjoyed every moment of it and struggled making up our minds as to what to eat. Highly recommend the chicken parmigiana and the ribs and the desserts are to die for. We enjoyed it so much we returned to do it all again 2 nights later. We will return next year. Don't go to Waikiki without experiencing Tikis!"

  • "Felt like the staff was catering to tourists, which is fine because it is in Waikiki. But it also felt like they didn't want to waste a good table on a local. Got seated on the lanai, but on the side where we couldn't see the view. When we asked to sit at a table in front, were told he would check, then he did not return till after they had already sat another party. Food was fine. Food was nicely presented. Although they were out of one of the entrees, and the 2 desserts that I wanted to try."

  • "I am not one to normally fill out surveys, but when the experience is this good I have to share. The restaurant was located at the far end of Waikiki from where we were staying, so the 3 hours of free valet parking was a blessing! When we arrived we were greeted by several people with a hearty aloha! We made a reservation, and were seated exactly at the time we made the reservation for. The server (Daniel) was awesome, very personable and took a real interest in our meal and made us feel like we had known him for years. Now onto the food... what can i say, the best prime rib I have had in a long time, and man what a serving! I think it was about 16oz of meat! My wife had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast Linguine, which was awesome too!"

  • "If you need a place to bring mainland guests to show them a hint of what it was like in old Waikiki, this is the place. They can have a Maitai in a fancy ceremic cup they can take home with them! Lots of fun and Hawaiian music, canned and live on certain nights."

  • "We had dinner here twice (booked through opentable). First time we got a so-and-so table, only half on the patio. Second time our table was on the patio and were able to admire the sunset. The service seems kind of inconsistent (sometimes super nice and ask you if you want lemon with your water, sometimes they would collect your plates and throw your silverware on the floor and not notice). We enjoyed the food, especially the calamari appetizer. The main courses were nice (we mostly ordered fish), although they seem to have side dishes that are quite heavy (mash potatoes, risotto). I am used to more vegetables, especially with lighter meat/fish. I did not like any of the 5-6 cocktails we tried (even the plain mojito was way too sweet)."

  • "Tom is an excellent waiter who was very attentive with our large group and graciously accommodated our requests for individual checks. He didn't automatically add the gratuity which is typically expected for large groups. My prime rib poke appetizer with avocado added tasted great! We had a beautiful view of Waikiki beach plus free 3-hour valet parking provided by the Aston Waikiki Beach boys downstairs. Will definitely come again!"

  • "Having been here over a year ago we'd raved about it and couldn't wait to bring a friend here. I ordered the surf and turf but they'd ran out of lobster so replaced it with shrimp and scallops. The meat was over cooked, dry and bland. The scallops had no flavour. You would think for $49 it would be better, although I will say that the garlic mash was good. Despite there being 3 of us that ordered steak, we weren't given steak knives and had to ask. The waitress was nice but we didn't see much of her. We'd asked for water but didn't receive any. The whole experience was just disappointing. Will never return to Tiki's"

  • "Ocean front views, excellent service, excellent food. Outside of the luau, this was our 1 fine dining experience in Oahu. It was great for the adults and the kiddos. We went on "wine down Wednesday) while wine was half off. Service was outstanding, waiter very knowledgable and friendly. Excellent pairing of Pinot with seared mahi...cooked to perfection. Would definitely go back and sit in the lanai next time."

  • "Mid range food, good service. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but a perfectly acceptable alternative if convenient. Had a reservation and that did not bump us up on the outside table list. In my opinion we should have been moved ahead of walk ins for an outside table. "

  • "The reservation system worked perfectly getting us a table overlooking the water. The service and the support for providing gluten free for on diner in our group was outstanding. "

  • "Sitting on the patio watching the sunset was superb! The food was good, but the service was slow, which we didn't mind so much. The entree took so long they comped us a dessert. The staff was very pleasant."

  • "Very good place and food was delicious. The service was ok -- but I just think the server got slammed with a lot of tables. But since we were not in a hurry and on vacation it was fine. I would return to this place -- the risotto was awesome. Everyone loved their meal. They offer a special chef deal for Kamaāina that was very generous (for my sister)."

  • "After reading the menu, we thought we would give it a try. We made reservations for 8pm and still had to wait 10 minutes after we arrived. We were seated & ordered our drinks. I ordered an alcoholic drink w/ the souvenir cup but the waitress said they ran out. Fine, I ordered the drink anyway. We then ordered our appetizers and entrees but for some reason we were never offered our bread/butter basket even though every other table had some. We had to ask for it. Food was ok, nothing special, we had better for less. Finally we paid for our bill and as we walk out, we see about 5 souvenir cups! Quite disappointing. "
