Portions are large, so don't be afraid to share. Always order the soup - the soup is wonderful. Another tip: appetizers can be entrees and vice versa. Saw quite a few 32 oz bone-in rib eye for 2 landing on tables. I recommend the chile relleno! We split the mahi mahi tostada. It was served beautifully on a crisp blue corn flour tortilla, and it was excellent.
The service was wonderful as was the ambiance. We enjoyed 2/3rds of the food. All the items on the menu are interesting and innovative, presentation is beautiful and service is outstanding. It is located in Herzog Winery, so wine list is fantastic as well. Worth the time to find it!Wonderful food that just happens to be Kosher. Creative menue includes lots of locally grown fruits and vegetables incorporated into unusual and always delicious menue choices. Wonderful wines to choose from or your favorite cocktail is also available.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA special placeMy spouse and I have been blessed to dine at fine restaurants, and we love both artistic and culturally authentic food both at home, restaurants and anywhere else. Tierra Surs menu is authentically kosher and the execution is stellar. Seared halibut & lamb chops rested in full flavored herb beds & on delicately cooked vegetables. The absence of cream and cheese was a relief. Freshness was palpable in both salads and entrees - an exceptional caesar salad! We finished our meal with an aromatic and crisp zeppolle served with fresh cream on the side. Our server, Joseph, knew and explained our selections' preparations and appeared at our table just at the right times.
