  • "While the interior is nicely designed and the service was very friendly there were too many other issues. First the nickel and diming. $3 to make any modification to a dish. It says it on the menu so not a surprise but still very lame. The food took a very long time to come out. They brought us three rolls to hold us over until the food was ready. Not a fan. Lastly the dish I had was luke warm and relatively flavorless. On a positive note my wife's food was pretty good. Overall the feeling put forth is the customer is lucky to be there instead of the restaurant being appreciative of the business. I don't need flowers sprinkled at my feet but I do want to feel the business to willing to make your experience good if not memorable."

  • "everything about the new and improved tiburon tavern is fantastic. the new chef has improved the food, the waitstaff could not be better and the surrounding are lovely. dave is my go to person is you need anything special, he just helped me plan a birthday party, and myra is excellent. also, go just for the drinks and music. outside dogs are welcome and that is a great treat."

  • "The changes in menu have made this a much better option than before. Service has picked up enormously and the fact that the outdoor dining makes it a dog friendly restaurant has made it our go to spot. Staff, Chris and Stephanie are very conscientious. Try the steak tartar!"

  • "One senses that the chef could do much more and better, but the tavern format is limiting. Excellent selection of wines by the glass but the menu is too limited and the selections are geared to keep the price down. I think they could easily command 20%-40% higher prices if they let the chef do his thing and offer higher-value items."

  • "We had a Groupon for the Prix Fixe dinner which has a limited menu, but we had no problem finding things to order. The corn bisque was delicious!! I had the pork chop for my main course, which I was not crazy about, but my husband thought that it was fabulous. The chocolate chip cookies and milk were very good. There was a duo playing and the volume was good as often when there is music at a restaurant, it takes over and you can no longer have a conversation with the rest of your party."

  • "Make a reservation... Because they are part of the Lodge there always seems be a wait list even though tables open up as you stand and wait."

  • "The music was great. Lovely place to have a beer and enjoy the weather. After waiting almost an hour for the first course shrimp, it tased like bleach. Need I say more?"

  • "We stayed in Tiburon for a few days and the Tavern was my favorite place to eat breakfast. We also had dinner here, and the waiter suggested a great wine. I would recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Great all the way around- food, ambiance, acoustic guitar in the outdoor lounge. Try the grilled cheese (the tomato bisque for dipping is superb), mussels (in a word, WOW), and churros (I've had the best Mexico City and Madrid can offer, but the Tavern has them beat). Other items deliver as well. Kenny, our server was a gracious host and truly knew his craft - attentive, fun, savvy w/ the grape and a real pleasure. Southern Sonoma county is a stone's throw away if hunger strikes after wine tasting, so pick up a bottle and hit the Tavern, you won't be disappointed."

  • "We enjoyed the sliders, cocktails, and appetizers. Service was fast and efficient. Outdoor heaters available overhead for chilly days. Will return!"

  • "It's beautiful, but that's about it. The food is mediocre. The service is as well. We went for brunch, and it was our second time there and the menu had changed - fewer choices and really boring. I ordered the Cobb salad which came with 4 huge iceberg wedges and not much else. It was hard to eat, and it just felt like the restaurant was trying to cheap out. 4 paper thin slices of avocado and a tablespoon (maybe!) of bacon bits. It was so unsatisfying. The coffee was tepid, even after the waiter said it just been brewed. The bar drinks - bellinis and champagne were room temperature. The wait staff never checked in once the food was served, and it was difficult to get their attention. Pretty place, but maybe for a beer. Only."

  • "Went this past Friday. The food was again excellent. There was also live music that we enjoyed. We are making the Tiburon Tavern one of our regular places."

  • "It took up to 30 minutes just to get our drinks and even then they were wrong. The waiter brought out the wrong dishes as well. Once we received our food it was good but the service was overall terrible."

  • "Went for the first time. Food and service were excellent. Menu was small but what was offered was great. Did not have a starter but the meatloaf was better than mom's. Had a delicious dessert too. Portion sizes were good. Will go again. "

  • "TT has really improved, we have been there twice in a couple of weeks, food is good, ambiance is also nice, service can be hit or miss, maybe not enough waiters, too many bus boys... The waiters are good, you just get the feeling that they're all over the place but not necessarily there when you need them... I would def recommend the restaurant!!!"

  • "With a new chef, creating more tasty menu items, and the wait staff being more attentive, I was happy to see the change and will go back again. "

  • "We used a groupon which had a pre-set menu for three courses. However, for $5/ person you could upgrade your entree to one off the regular menu. We both did that & got the NY steak which was phenomenal!!! I also upgraded my app to the lamb sliders which is a definate do-not-miss item!! Our Italian server was really nice, attentive & full of charm. I love the Tiburon Tavern & can't wait to go back!!! :-D"

  • "My lemon drop cocktail took 15 mins to arrive and was not served in the traditional sugar rimmed glass nor was it chilled. The kale caesar salad used fried chickpeas in lieu of the traditional croutons, however, the chickpeas were soft and did not add the desired crunch intended. The potato soup was bland & served at room temperature. The pork chop was tough, over cooked and therefore dry. Service was poor and slow. Our waiter did not: bring customary bread/butter, offer additional cocktails, refill our wine glasses, offer ground pepper for salads, or offer coffee/tea after dinner. The lodge is a great Tiburon spot. It's too bad they are not paying more attention to the details of food preparation, presentation and service."

  • "1st time-very welcoming place - lucked out to sit outside & enjoy the live music. He was a soloist who did 70's oldies-fantastic. Service was on the spot; hosts spent the time. Food was good at Happy Hour and dinner. Outside could be for families or a date as it just worked. Nice to see well behaved dogs & they had water bowls for them. Inside was ambient. "

  • "Great find - outdoor dining that is dog friendly in Tiburon. My hamburger was fabulous - juicy, flavorful on a tasty brioche bun. Although not on the water, it is very close allowing for a nice stroll after brunch. We also had the eggs benedict and the pork belly sandwhich - both were also really good. Friendly, attentive service. Seating available under umbrellas at a table or on large, comfy couches. "

  • "Had Mother's day dinner. The food was very tasty and everyone liked their meal. Friendly staff. Cool atmosphere."

  • "I chose this restaurant because I thought (a) Tiburon would be a lovely setting for a Mother's Day brunch and (b) they had vegan items on the menu (for my father). There was some vague way that an outdoor table could be reserved and I had not complied with it by using Open Table. So we were sat between two tables with very young children indoors. The menu was special for the day, fine but they were completely unwilling to help us source something vegan. I told the server that I'd chosen the restaurant for the steel cut oatmeal (a staple for Dad) on the menu and asked if we could order that. No accommodation was offered. How hard is it to make some oatmeal? Not as hard as making a reservation. I won't make one there again."

  • "Nice place for dinner. Food was good and the night we were there they had an amazing duo playing live music. That really made it a special evening."

  • "The restaurant was jumping and noisy. Kids were running around. Our waiter noticed 3 middle aged women and a coupon and that was it. Reservation was at 7:15 and we left at 10:00. Everything was slow. The waiter was snide. The bussers were nonexistent. The only saving grace was that both hostesses were wonderful. "

  • "I will be back! We couldn't eat that evening because my g'frd became very ill. But everyone at this restaurant was just amazing in the ways they demonstrated their caring. We were there while she stabilized and WOW, that place, no the people, it's the folks working there - they are great and the food looks to be just great!"

  • "We used a Groupon prix fix coupon and certainly got a deal. The soup was pasty and the deviled eggs were bland. The pork chop however was excellent. It was perfectly cooked and had deep flavours. The shared chocolate dessert was decadent. The bottle of chardonnay was thoroughly acceptable and part of the deal. If the starters had been better, it would have been an extraordinary deal and we would go back."

  • "Received complete meal for 2 as a gift. Was extremely pleased with experience - will definitely return. Dining room quiet as majority of patrons outside on patio (bit too windy for us). Live music was also outside on the patio. Inside, music was not overly loud; had easy time of hearing dinner partner. We chose from the Prix Fix menu but used option of entree choice from regular menu (at only an additional $5!!!!). Bay scallop risotto so tasty and portion just enough. Also had delicious pork chop on spatezle - different but worth a second try. Would have rated service "very good" which it was up until receiving the bill. Waited almost 15 min to get someone to take payment...."

  • "My friend and I ate an early dinner at Tiburon Tavern out on the front patio on a beautiful day. The place was bustling and there were families with small children who seemed to also be having a good time. The waitress was charming. We had ordered a fixed price meal with Groupon so our menu choices were more limited than the full menu. I had the pork chop entree which was excellent. The potato soup was good but not outstanding. I liked the atmosphere of the inside (tables, lighting, etc) but it was empty given the nice weather. IMO the main reason to go to Tiburon Tavern would be to socialize and enjoy the atmosphere. "

  • "My husband and I came for dinner. We had so much fun! Our server was excellent, the music was excellent, and the food was...excellent. I recommend the caesar salad and the bucatini puttanesca. While we were there I learned that they have happy hour every day. We will be returning!"

  • "Everything was way oversalted. But the atmo is pleasant and the manager stopped by our table to check in, so it seems like they care about service, etc. They are nice. I think next time I would try the happy hour."

  • "We got a coupon deal supposedly worth $106 for $49. There's no way the food we had [2 apps from very short list, 2 entrees from very short list, one shared dessert [no choice], and a bottle of BV Century Cellars wine was worth $106. It was a value for $49 but one app [the soup], one entree [vegetarian pasta], and the bland chocolate dessert were nothing special so really can't recommend."

  • "We've been there many times, but shall not return on a Friday evening. At first, it was fun... the crowd coming home on the ferry, etc., but the noise level has gotten unbearable... and the band doesn't help. This time the meal took over 2 hours. We waited over an hour for our entre. Josh, our waiter was excellent, friendly, etc., but the GM came in and looked at us twice and I caught his eye, but he hurried out, They did comp us some wine, and the GM finally came over and talked with us, and we liked him, but overall, not an experience that I'd like to have again."

  • "If you're looking for a burger and onion rings with a cocktail, this may be your spot. But skip the watery blue cheese wedge salad, tough chicken main course and pasty risotto with flavorless seafood. This is a casual dining place that's trying to stretch into fine dining. The poorly-trained servers simply can't keep up with their tables. Bussers tried to clear our plates while our forks were in our hands. On a warm evening we may go back for a glass of wine and appetizers on the patio, but we'll skip the dining room."

  • "I had the prix fix dinner. Kale caesar is too wierd. Pork chop was the best food item. It was sitting on top of something that was chopped up. Chocolate pudding for dessert was okay, whipped cream could have helped. Ambience was nice; service was good."
