  • "Wonderful atmosphere, food and wine. A best bet for Tapas lovers in manhattan."

  • "I found the service to be very good ! The place is energetic and the food is good. I liked the patatas bravas, and the scallops special on that night. The olives were the smallest known to men, and they were just ok. How can you not have a Tempranillo by the glass???? Overall the tapas are good although expensive, and it's excellent for a group although it's a small place so a reservation it's a must!"

  • "I made a reservation and when I got there I told the hostess we would have a couple more people joining us later. I said we were fine to sit close together at a smaller table. My friends showed up and she told us we couldn't all sit at the table and that my friends had to stand. After that she came up to the table at 8:20 telling us we had to leave at 8:30 because there was another reservation. My reservation was at 6:30 and she never told me this before we sat down. I will NEVER come back because if this. She was glaring at us the whole time and it was very uncomfortable. There was an empty table next to is for over 20 minutes that she could have sat the next party at. The food was good, but not good enough to deal with that hostess."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is excellent and the service is attentive and friendly. It is a cozy hole in the wall with a hip feel. Love it!"

  • "Small restaurant with a young loud crowd. Food and wine are good but selection a bit limited. It is what you would expect from a medium priced tapas bar. I would go again."

  • "Enjoyed it thoroughly. Food was prepared perfectly and quickly. Excellent wine was recommended that was reasonably priced."

  • "Super friendly service, knowledgeable but not too hard-selling. Excellent list of sherries both for before, during and after the meal - and honestly, when was your last serious glass of sherry? The tapas we had were amazing, comparable in style and quality with the other top tapas places in NYC."

  • "My husband were in NYC for an overnight and aren't very familiar with restaurants. We really like tapas and Spanish food, so I looked on Open Table and found Tia Pol listed. I was pleased to be able to get a reservation last minute and we were seated at a nice table in the back room, away from the more noisy and crowded front room. We loved the variety of the menu and the quality of the food was very good. Loved the scallop special, the tomato bread, and the chicken liver mouse. Although new, our waiter was very pleasant and helpful. The red sangria was killer."

  • "This was recommended to me by a real foodie. The food was really great. The omelette- a must. The potatoes Brava - definitely bravo. The steak and lamb superb. Everything ww had was great. Sangria - great! Service is slow and the place is small but worth it if you lije tapas! Recommended!"

  • "Sad they did not have the Chorizo and Chocolate tapa that I was craving - please consider bringing it back into the menu! Great Patatas Brava and Chorizo along with the Sangria."

  • "we sat at the bar, enjoyed the squid in its own ink, octopus salad, blistered peppers bartender was very helpful with drink suggestions"

  • "Great date spot. Make sure to get a reservation and be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes even with a reservation. It's a tiny place. Cute tables for two and a warn atmosphere. Tapas was delicious and service was friendly and attentive. We ordered a few rounds of tapas and a pitcher of sangria. My only caution is the pricing of the specials; most dishes on the menu range $8-15, but we ordered two of the specials, without being told the price, and the dishes were $20 and $27, respectively. The specials were scallops and steaks, but tapas sized, and while very delicious, it would have been nice to know the price ahead of time."

  • "Tia Pol is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The tapas are amazing including the croquettas, papas bravas, and chorizo. I commend them for their Valentine's Day experience. I appreciate there was no "Valentine's" menu to jack up the price and there were some tasty entree specials. My only minor critique would be to perhaps have a special dessert, although I didn't really mind because I was stuffed. Always a great dining experience there."

  • "I've eaten here a few times, and it's always great. Very tasty food, amazingly friendly and helpful service, and a neat ambiance. It's always crowded, yet there always seems to be a table available, which is awesome. It's typically noisy since it's small, but it's never been bothersome or distracting. Great place for a nice, but low key date."

  • "While the food is very good, the restaurant needs to get better control of the timing of its reservations and also the timing of the food. While a tapas restaurant is not a fine dining experience, I felt like they wanted me In and out as quickly as possible to optimize table turnover."

  • "Very tasty and interesting tapas, the chorizo was especially good. The place is fun and noisy. It’s as much a bar that serves really good food than a restaurant (e.g., the seating was stools rather than chairs with backs), and given that I’m not a drinker, I’m not likely to go back."

  • "One of my favorite places in NYC. Staff is very attentive. True Spanish food served tapas style. Very relaxing. I come in from Pennsylvania to enjoy the experience and ambiance at Tia Pol."

  • "We celebrated a birthday and enjoyed ourselves. The small plates were very tasty and we loved all of them. It was a bit too noisy to have a conversation but the food was well worth the visit."

  • "Food was terrific. We unfortunately ordered three items off the specials menu and although they were "tapas" style/size, the prices were not. For 2 people, 2 drinks each and 5 or 6 tapas items between us (can't remember), we paid $190 incl. tip. From someone who eats out a lot, I thought this was pricey considering the atmosphere is just so/so. Food is for the most part delicious. Just not convinced this is bang for your buck in NYC."

  • "We love Tia Pol: the food, the staff and the ambience! The tapas are traditional, delicious and great for sharing! They also have some of their own tapas, but keep in line with tradition, but add some variety to the menu. Don't miss the red sangria either"

  • "The staff are very attentive and helpful at this tapas place. Some of dishes were extraordinary and others."

  • "A friend and former coworker and I picked this spot to catch up over dinner. The food and service were great. The space was a little tight but all in all it was a great time. My friend is a bit of a picky eater but loved a bunch of the tapas we got. Our waitress was very friendly and responsive to our questions about food and wine. I will definitely come back!"

  • "I went here with my boyfriend. Great place for a date. We ordered the red sangria. It was very tasty. The pitcher was around $35, so reasonably priced. We ordered around six small dishes to share. All of the dishes we ate were fantastic. The restaurant was a little loud for me, but we went at prime dining time (8:00), and I usually prefer a quieter atmosphere. I would highly recommend Tia Pol."

  • "Many people had recommended Tia Pol but only now was able to have the occasion . It was fabulous. Great food, great wine, incredible service and a sensible bill. I am definitely returning!"

  • "I've visited Tía Pol many times and realized during my last visit it's no longer a legitimate tapas spot. New ownership maybe? I used to come here several years ago and the quality of food used to be fantastic. The giveaway was the jamón serrano that was cut 1/2 an inch thick!!! I asked if they could cut it thinner (how it's supposed to be served) and they brought it back almost in the same state. And there are many slight changes to the menu that you wouldn't notice if you didn't frequent this place years ago, but are quite obvious. Also, our first server clearly didn't have experience serving? He would interrupt almost every conversation in an abrupt way, which truly killed our vibe. Won't be returning!"

  • "We were at Tia Pol for our last night in New York and had never been to the restaurant before. Our wait person, Guy, was terrific. With tapas, it is sometimes hard to know how much food to order. Guy made sure we had just the right amount and lots of variety. We had a wonderful time and all the dishes were excellent."

  • "Great tapas bar. Narrow room with a good vibe. Service was friendly, efficient and helpful. Wine selection interesting, and wait staff knew the wines. Food was fresh, quick and interesting. We'd be happy to go back."
