Overall I enjoyed the food. Everyone in our group really like the food. The two hostess that greeted us were very nice. The service was a bit lacking. No one ever checked on us. The wait staff seemed like they do not really care and had no personality.

Went for Long Island Restaurant Week and the restaurant was packed, only to find out that they have a set menu every night that is only two dollars more. Had we known might have opted for another evening. Regardless, the food and service were spot on. Portions were plentiful and presentation was lovely. Staff was friendly and professional. We look forward to returning.

I celebrated my 40th Birthday here with a few friends, and am extremely happy with my experience here! We switched tables twice due to 2 of my friends being an hour late, and the hostess was very helpful, patient and accommodating even though it was a very busy Friday night! Our first waiter, the coat check girl and the valet were all very nice. Our last waiter for the night was a bit abrupt. But, I will not give a bad review on a place because of just 1 person! I will definitely go back for a romantic dinner perhaps? 😊

My fiance and I dined here during the recent restaurant week. We had never been, and always wanted to come since we've heard all good things. They had a wonderful selection to choose from, and the dishes were GREAT! Everything we had (Mussels, Calamari, Scallops, Pork Chop) were all great. Dessert was such a treat as well! We will definitely go back for a date night. Word to the wise, portions (at least my portion for the fish dish) was small, so you definitely want to order an appetizer. Can't wait to go back...

My husband and I decided to have a mid week dinner out. We had been to Thyme before and remembered enjoying it. We were NOT disappointed. Thyme is a wonderful restaurant. The ambiance is lovely, the food is delicious and the wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We chatted with the owner who was very pleasant. I had the Warm Brussels Sprout Ceasar Salad and Seared Sea Scallops and Grilled Shrimp. My husband had the Calamari and the homemade Papardelle. Our desserts were Creme Caramel and Caramelized Apple Tart ... Everything was delicious. Thyme is definitely a gem ... we will be going back soon.

The food is wonderful and so is the wait staff however, we had a small issue with the hostess. We went for lunch and there were only 2 tables with water view. The table for two was taken and the hostess refused to sit us at a 4 table even though we were only the second group in the room. Highly disappointed. When asked why, she lied and said it was reserved. After 30 minutes a table of 4 arrived and she asked in front of us "would you like the waterview table?" It was my mothers birthday and a little kindness from the hostess would have made her day extra special. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn't. They could have easily accommodated our request.

Last minute plans resulted in our staying in Roslyn. Thyme's menu appealed to our comfort zone in contemporary American dining. The menu is interesting. We enjoyed the fix prix selections- well priced and diverse. Enjoyed the ravioli and mussel starters as well as the very tasty scallops and shrimp entrée. Apple tarts and vanilla ice cream were a pleasant ending to a very enjoyable evening. Pleasant setting overlooking the water.

When our dear friends asked us to choose a restaurant for dining....my wife and I did not hesitate to turn our friends onto Thyme and the wonderful culinary experience that I knew was awaiting. From the greeting at the door....the wonderful lemon drop martini at the bar....to the delicious corn chowder soup and mixed green appetizer.....only topped by the amazing short rib main course that my wife had and the done to perfection grilled salmon entre that I enjoyed this evening and prior visits. Oh....how could I forget the mouth watering chocolate truffle tort as a sendoff for a special evening of food...drink....and memories shared with friends. Do yourself a favor...make the time to experience the culinary treat you will enjoy at Thyme!

I live in Sea Cliff and it's great having this cute little place just 10 minutes away. It's like walking into someone's home, but then there's this very nice, well-conceived layout for diners. The food was killer. There was an excellent musician playing at just the right volume in the front bar area. The service was excellent. I've driven past Thyme in Roslyn many times but never noticed it due to it's unorthodox location. I am so glad a friend recommended it though and will be back for sure. This is a very nice place for dinner or brunch. The owner makes you feel comfortable, the bar scene was alive and the rooms were full or nearly so. The outdoor porch area was delightful on a Saturday night. The waitress was warm and friendly and engaging. All good. The snag was the fish entree- red napper. This is a delicate fish and it was simply overcook or precooked. Someone wasn't watching and it changed a very good evening to mediocre. A restaurant with a Greek foundation should always know how to cook fish. When the dryness was mentioned no offer was made to replace or adjust. Yes i would go back to see if this was a aberration. It has a lot going for it but food prep is a key to any good experience

Place is clean and neat, and old house in Roslyn with a view of the pond. The decor is somewhat dated, ladder back chairs and a shiny old fashioned bar. Staff welcoming and neat, wait and bar staff in black. Drinks at the bar ok. Only one sparkling wine by the glass - only btls of French champagne which is a shame. Dined on a small patio above the parking lot - not stunning but if you look over the cars you do see the pond. Wait staff friendly and attentive. 1 dinner roll served with tongs and only a small ramekin of butter. - I expected a bread basket. Food was plentiful. Lobster bisque was overly creamy and was a thick wintery serving. Tuna tasty if somewhat heavily seasoned. Wine list modest, Arrogant Frog Pinot pleasing.
