  • Private Party Facilities: Warm earthy tones and expansive windows overlooking Roslyn Pond characterize the upstairs dining room. This casually elegant space has a private bar and is able to hold a variety of events including lunch meetings, rehearsal dinners, showers, festive celebrations and intimate gatherings for up to 40 guests for seated meals, and up to 55 for cocktail-style events..
    For larger events, the entire main floor, which includes main dining room, attached large mahogany bar, and outdoor patio may also be rented for seated events of up to 70 guests, and up to 100 guests for cocktail-style events. The main dining room features a working fireplace and expansive windows, french doors & patio all overlooking Roslyn Duck Pond.

Located in the historic village of Roslyn, and overlooking Gerry Park and the Roslyn Duck Pond, Thyme has a harmonious approach to food which embraces wholesome ingredients, diligence and care in preparation. The finest and freshest of ingredients make all the difference at Thyme, and we work closely with local farms and purveyors whenever seasonally possible. Spectacular presentation is also an essential part of who we are.

  • "The restaurant was in a good location by the clock tower in Roslyn. The ambiance was good overlooking the pond however if seated on the 2nd floor by the window you see a lot of the roof as well. We went for Eater brunch at 11:45. I thought there should have been a larger selection of breakfast specials. I had the challah French toast with cinnamon and to be honest it was nothing special. I could have prepared that in my kitchen. My daughter had the eggs Benedict which she liked. The drink a Bellini was good. "

It didn't help that they seated us at a tiny table in the middle of the room surrounded by large party tables - and this was after I requested a table that was not located in the middle of everything as it was our anniversary dinner. The food and service might be ok but I couldn't tell you because I was so distracted by the noise. Will definitely not go back. "

  • "A small gem of an establishment that greets you with warmth & hospitality... You are taken to your table & the delightful experience begins from your appetizer to dessert... If you are inclined try in the caramelized apple tart for dessert with fresh pressed coffee... Great ending to a fabulous meal.. Bon appetite!!"

  • "The food is wonderful and the menu is constantly beinng updated with the seasons and for special occasions. It is a very chill, relaxed atmosphere, but it is not appropriate for children since, while relaxed, it's also a little stuffy. While the food is delicious, don't ask for too many substitutions or adjustments, as this is frowned upon. However, my opinion is trust the chef and you won't be disappointed."

  • "The place is lovely, came for brunch, sat outside on the patio overlooking the pond a wonderful view. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendlier. Very accommodating with all of the requests at the table they never showed a sign of irritation or annoyance. Our male waiter (wish I knew his name) whom has a foreign accent was acceptionally great! The food was good.bpeople complain about the noise level but because we were outside and it was brunch it was very relaxing. Overall, a very enjoyable day. "

  • "the early bird prix fixe is a real deal; we were a party of four and i ordered two appetizers only - fuji apple salad was excellent, though i would have preferred it a tad less sweet; crab cake was fine; others all enjoyed their lamb chops, hangar steak, baked brie, tomato soup, etc. very good at regular price and a find for the prix fixe. quiet when we arrived, it was less so by the time we left, busier and some live music about to begin. pleasant atmosphere with a nice view of the roslyn harbor inlet from the rear tables near the windows. very pleasant waiter provided fine service."

The swiss chard was inedibly salty and the "lump" crab cake was disappointing--very small, bready and dry. The best thing about Thyme is the atmosphere and view."

  • "4:30 reservation. Arrived late, sat at 4:50. Only guests until 6:00. Quiet. Staff attentive. Food excellent. Met my girlfriend for a pre-weekend night out. Beautiful dining room with nice view of the pond and its resident ducks. Easy to get to. The prix fixe menu had a wonderful selection of meats chicken and fish as well as interesting starters (baked brie with apples). Shrimp and scallops for me, Hangar steak for her. Well prepared and very tasty. Courses were nicely spaced so every taste was savored. Because we started early we were able to linger after our meal with no rushing out the door from the staff. I'd go back to Thyme in a minute!"

All it needs is a small, but what could be game-changing fix! Despite that, I'd still give it another shot, albeit maybe for lunch, on a weekday to keep the noise level to a small jet plane!"

  • "There was no one there for lunch yet you got the feeling that the waiter was in a rush to get rid of you.we weren't settled in our seats that he wanted to take our drink orders, and it continued throughout our lunch.as soon as we started a conversation the waiter was there asking how our salads was,how the food how is everything............on and on. The other very annoying thing is that the seats are so close to each other that the waiting staff constantly bumps into you seat...."

  • "Thyme is a cozy gem in the village of Roslyn. The dining room is a relaxed environment that sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. I had the seafood paella piled high with clams, mussels, and large shrimp over a delectable saffron risotto. My only disappointment was that there was not enough risotto. The beet salad was delicious. The dining room did become very noisy as it filled up. I recommend coming early if you prefer a more quiet atmosphere."

  • "We have dined at Thyme dinner and loved it. Our waiter suggested the Sunday brunch. It too was fabulous. My eggs benedict were delicious. Instead of an english muffin they were on a potato croquette. My husband omelette was also quite good. Surprisingly the complimentary bloody marys were also very tasty and substantial. This is a lovely but small establishment so with most tables filled the noise level was rather loud. Still I would highly recommend this restaurant as the food and service is superb!"

  • "we think Luis is the best waiter ever. he is always on top of everything and very helpful. nice touch having music of fri evenings but it is hard to hear in the dining room but great for the people hanging out at the bar. we also felt that the singer could dress a little neater. his clothes looked so wrinkled like he might have slept in them for two days. normally i would not even think about it but these were really bad. (just our opinion) it takes away from the ambiance of the music and looks like you took him in off the street."

  • "Always enjoy ourselves. The martini's and sangria are excellent. They made some nice additions to the Prix Fixe menu, although at + $. Started with the mixed greens (the endive/fugi is now +$) and the mussels in white wine appetizers. Very tasty. The main of seared sea scallops & grilled jumbo shrimp w/grilled asparagus over parsnip puree was a nice blend of flavors. Looking forward to seasonal berries in the new fruit plate dessert. The apple tart, excellent. Luis is always on his game for attentive service and allowing time to dine. The view of Roslyn pond beautiful in any season. Can do without the valet parking. Lot in town instead. Go early as it can get noisy."

  • "Thyme is a wonderful little restaurant. We have been to Thyme many times and have never been disappointed. Often the food is simply great. Other times it's just very good, but never disappointing. We love the love the live music by the bar area which is played at just the right volume-- never too loud. The valet parking is very convenient since parking can be challenging nearby on weekends. The lovely view of the Roslyn pond through the big picture windows is a great plus. Sometimes the restaurant is so busy that the servers seem rushed and a little defensive unfortunately."

  • "Great brunch, however not if you have children in your party. The portions are large & it would have been perfect if we could have shared one between the two 7 year olds that were with us but that is not allowed. The restaurant policy is no sharing even for children & there is no children's menu so you pay the same price as an adult. Not a great policy, & therefore not a kid friendly place for any meal, too bad. The brunch menu has a interesting selection of choices & the portions are quite large. To start you are offered a choice of either a Bloody Mary, mimosa, bilini, or juice, however coffee is extra. When crowed it can get very loud as it was."

Last Friday we were 2 couples for dinner and although we all enjoyed our dishes we did not enjoy how loud it was!! We sat downstairs, the place was pretty crowded and we could not have a conversation without having to shout (and adding to the noise)."

  • "A GREAT FIND We visited Thyme for the first time this past weekend. We were interested in the Pre-Fixe dinner package. The food was fabulous and the service impeccable. My husband had a pear martini that was perfectly chilled and delicious. Our server Scott was not only knowledgable but personable and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the butternut squash ravioli for an appetizer and the baby lamb chops with root vegetables- excellent! We definitely will be visiting Thyme again."
