Diner Reviews
  • "Thrive has a very nice atmosphere for date night and AWESOME service! However, the food items are over priced. At least one item on the menu lacked the proper seasoning."

  • "The menu was good. Food was good. Service was great. The place just looked a little worn and tired. Walls need a coat of paint. Kinda feels like they haven't done anything to the restaurant since it opened."

  • "We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Friday thought it would be busier for Happy hour and reservations required, but Who ever knows about Downtown ATL. The food was fab. Our waitress was Awesome and attentive, Just wish it had more thrive with people ...give it a try.. maybe call them and ask when they will have a good crowd to make you feel like you are not the only one the kitchen is working on..Oh and the dress is relax and chill but almost too relax.......... Short shorts and flip flops are cool,Hoodies are another story , not the atmosphere you would expect within a Kinda South Beach type venue.still a Two Thumbs up and we will be back maybe for lunch since no late night is avail.."

  • "We had a Groupon deal for 4 people thus the overall experience was nice. The food was delicous, the waiters were all nice and professional however when I received the final bill I was shocked to be charged gratuity included already. We would have given 20% tips but the restaurant charged us 18% along with tax. This is not how it was supposed to be done. I think a lot of Groupon customers foget to pay the tip based on total value before the Groupon discount but still it is not very professional manner to treat customers like this way. Also, the food was very delicous but the potions were rather small and without Groupon the total dining cost for 4 people would have been over $230 which I feel is overpriced."

  • "Thank you so much for making my daughters 16th birthday special! With no special request Thrive made a special sweet 16 birthday desert and presented it to my daughter after dinner. Although I wish she would have taken a picture of it, Thrive is a great place to dine and from what the girls in my daughters party said, it was a great overall experience! Thank you again."

  • "We loved our visit to Thrive. We made reservations just moments before attempting our visit, and they graciously greeted us by name when we walked in. The food was delicious. We weren't really hungry, so we just ordered sushi and another appetizer, and it proved to be plenty! Nice job."

  • "We're no sushi lovers, but Thrive has a sushi menu and so the quality of their tuna over forbidden rice entree is fantastic. Thrive is our go-to restaurant when we attend a performance at Theatrical Outfit."

  • "Very "safe" sushi choices (salmon, tuna, shrimp) prepared in unique ways. We tried and enjoyed 4 different specialty rolls. Very reasonably priced. Great way to introduce sushi to newbes but not everything you'd find at a more traditional sushi restraunt."

  • "We took a chance on a restaurant that didn't really deliver. The waitress did not really help us understand the menu. The restaurant promoted sushi but when is that prepared in the kitchen. Dirty cloth napkins is never a good indicator of a well run establishment. We all liked that they have kept the sixties decor."

  • "I honored a best friend for her birthday effortlessly. The ambience of Thrive did all the work for me!"

  • "This was a surprise birthday dinner for my fiance's birthday. The look and feel of the restaurant was great but the food was even better! We had lamb and sushi. I enjoyed my Sunrise 82 as well. We will definitely be going back! "

  • "The location is great, but the service is terrible! We sat at the bar and had a few cocktails, and then asked for menus. The bartender never brought them, so we quickly cashed out and left."

  • "Food was great, drinks even better. Wonderful staff and perfect for groups or for two friends wanting a night out. "

  • "The mix of sushi ( used by us as an appetizer selection) and other main courses with a local flavor was great for our group. I can see that if a sports event was in town it would be loud. Main course was served warm but side was luke warm. Server was attentive and manager came by with extra side his kitchen guy had made and gave it to us. Mains were inventive and cooked right. Lamb chops, fish all good. A good option if downtown."

  • "This was a great find! Although we went to the Cher concert @ Phillips (adjacent) - we will go back again - like being in South Beach in the middle of ATL - the sushi was incredible - duck was wonderful and a lovely reasonable priced wine list."

  • "Meh. Miso soup was terrible and there were no shrimp as advertised. Service was aloof."

  • "Had my friends bachelorette dinner there, the food was excellent!!"

  • "We were the only diners (Hawks were hosting playoff game) so was very quiet. Food was good (vegetarian option was great) and service very good but furnishings need updating - my seat had a tear in it. "

  • "I eat here frequently for lunch because of the location. The food is OK, but the service is very spotty and needs work. My last visit wS the worst. In attentive waiter, incorrect order, and cold coffee."

  • "Our group loved the calamari, braised rib wraps, scallop and grits (best). Filet mignon was great too. Lamb Perfectly seasoned."
    Dined on 4/22/2014
  • "We read the good reviews of this restaurant in opentable and decided to have dinner there. Calamari tasted excellent and our seconds were very nice too. French fries were also delicious. Service was efficient and very agreeable. Good relation between quality and price."

  • "Really extraordinary food. Diver scallops, filet mignon, rack of lamb. Seems like you can't go wrong."

  • "We went to Thrive before a Hawks game and told the waiter we needed to get out in time to make the game. He did an excellent job and was so responsive and attentive, he alone brought this rating up. We ordered the calamari on the recommendation it was the best thing in the restaurant. It was good, but not great - more sesame oil aioli than Thai chili sauce and it could have been the other way around. We had read reviews that indicated the sushi was good, but really, it was below average. There must be 100 places in Atlanta to get better sushi. Can't speak to the rest of the menu which was quite eclectic. BTW, a fire alarm went off for much of our dining time, but that was the building's fault."

  • "Entertained clients and some colleagues at lunch in April. Server was outstanding nad the ambience perfect for such an occasions. 6 people, all well taken care of. Sushi and rolls were delicious."

  • "My wife and I visited Thrive when we were attending an event at the convention center. While we selected Thrive based on good OpenTable reviews and proximity to our hotel it is a restaurant worth going out of your way for! The blood orange margarita and other specialty drinks were worth the visit alone. The appetizers were absolutely delicious and the sushi was some of the best we've ever had. The ambiance was a cool blend of retro and modern style, the staff very friendly, and the service surprisingly quick. Absolutely worth a visit!"

  • "Had a blast with a group of 10 for a last minute late night meal. The menu was varied, and offered enough to please even the pickiest amongst us. The cocktails could be improved a bit, but the wine list was adequate and the food tasty. Atmosphere is "glitz and glamour". Host/Manager was warm and inviting. Service was great, particularly for such a large group."

  • "We received a fabulous Groupon for Thrive from my nieces. It included wine, appetizer, entree and dessert. As we arrived at 101 Marietta in downtown Atlanta, we did not notice if there was a sign (don't think there was) indicating that the restaurant was on the first floor of an office building and that parking was around the corner at the back of the building. Once we figured that out everything else was uphill. The only suggestion we have is to mend the torn, but gorgeously metal stamped menus and perhaps spruce up the covered beams that are part of the building's construction."

  • "We enjoyed the sushi on a week night. Easy walk from Centennial or downtown. The prices were a bit high. And, the space needs to be spruced up (paint, surface repair, etc.). I would go again for lunch."

  • "Convenient to CNN. Staff was attentive. Food choices are diverse from southern comfort to sushi.there were nine of us and we enjoyed garlic roasted shrimp salad, fried chicken served with Mac n cheese, and a divine grouper sandwich served with fried green tomatoes. after 8:00 it is converted to evening entertainment and we saw the line forming at the door. We will be back again."

  • "1) Superb food. 2) Calamari with a difference (loved it) 3) Lamb chops were simply March madness(Yum, yum!) 4) Daughter had the best roast lamb sandwich. Did not share a bite. 5) Service was the best ever. Very caring and attentive. 6) Will go again."

  • "Had a great time with spouse and 2 staff members while in Atlanta for a conference. The food is delicious and creative. The waitstaff is friendly and professional. This was our second visit and won't be our last! We'll be back next year during our conference!"

  • "A modern decorated and designed place for quality sushi, appetizers, or entrees just a short walk from the Ferris Wheel, CNN, Phillips, or Georgia Dome. The staff are professional and warm."

  • "My second visit; GREAT place---food and service!!!"
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Went there for the sushi with my wife, the calamari was unique in that of was served dressed. They had just sat a large party do out rolls were taking a bit. The waiter brought us a couple of salads while we waited then the chef visited our table. The sushi was fresh and tasty."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "Our experience at Thrive was good. I wish they had a larger variety of food. The menu is very limited but the drinks were great. It's definitely a hot spot in Atlanta but the kitchen closes early, even on weekends. I would recommend it and will certainly dine there again."

  • "Our evening was wonderful. The service and food were over the top. Loved that the manager on duty checked in with us several times to make sure everything was great. Loved it and look forward to going back!"

  • "I had a great time at Thrive. The server was very nice and welcoming, the drinks and food came very fast. The only complain I have is that my food was not warm enough. I ordered the duck breast and even though it was kind of cold, it was delicious."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Went there for my friend's birthday. Such a great location- right by CNN center. They went the extra mile by decorating the table for us and giving my friend a tiara. Service was great. I was surprised that there weren't more people there on a Friday night!! It's such a great place that hopefully more will discover it. I know I will definitely be back!"

  • "The filet was unseasoned and bland. The not so famous Brussels sprouts tasted a bit like braised dirt. The crab ragoon appetizer was okay, but had a strong flavor I can only best associate with pimento cheese. The place was completely empty by 7:30pm. The server was very good. The sleek atmosphere was as promised, but benches showed wear in the form of cracked holes that should have been repaired long ago. At 8pm, the lights and atmosphere changed with more of a disco-ish feel which felt completely silly since no one was there. All in all, it was just a huge disappointment and had it not been a business dinner, I would have sent it all back and left. The only thing going for this place..was the server."

  • "We were from out of town and needed a nice sit-down spot for lunch close to the Sam Nunn Federal Building. This was a great choice! The server was extremely nice and accommodating of our need to be served and dash quickly for a meeting."
