Diner Reviews
  • "Really extraordinary food. Diver scallops, filet mignon, rack of lamb. Seems like you can't go wrong."

  • "Entertained clients and some colleagues at lunch in April. Server was outstanding nad the ambience perfect for such an occasions. 6 people, all well taken care of. Sushi and rolls were delicious."

  • "We went to Thrive before a Hawks game and told the waiter we needed to get out in time to make the game. He did an excellent job and was so responsive and attentive, he alone brought this rating up. We ordered the calamari on the recommendation it was the best thing in the restaurant. It was good, but not great - more sesame oil aioli than Thai chili sauce and it could have been the other way around. We had read reviews that indicated the sushi was good, but really, it was below average. There must be 100 places in Atlanta to get better sushi. Can't speak to the rest of the menu which was quite eclectic. BTW, a fire alarm went off for much of our dining time, but that was the building's fault."

  • "My wife and I visited Thrive when we were attending an event at the convention center. While we selected Thrive based on good OpenTable reviews and proximity to our hotel it is a restaurant worth going out of your way for! The blood orange margarita and other specialty drinks were worth the visit alone. The appetizers were absolutely delicious and the sushi was some of the best we've ever had. The ambiance was a cool blend of retro and modern style, the staff very friendly, and the service surprisingly quick. Absolutely worth a visit!"

  • "We received a fabulous Groupon for Thrive from my nieces. It included wine, appetizer, entree and dessert. As we arrived at 101 Marietta in downtown Atlanta, we did not notice if there was a sign (don't think there was) indicating that the restaurant was on the first floor of an office building and that parking was around the corner at the back of the building. Once we figured that out everything else was uphill. The only suggestion we have is to mend the torn, but gorgeously metal stamped menus and perhaps spruce up the covered beams that are part of the building's construction."

  • "We enjoyed the sushi on a week night. Easy walk from Centennial or downtown. The prices were a bit high. And, the space needs to be spruced up (paint, surface repair, etc.). I would go again for lunch."

  • "Convenient to CNN. Staff was attentive. Food choices are diverse from southern comfort to sushi.there were nine of us and we enjoyed garlic roasted shrimp salad, fried chicken served with Mac n cheese, and a divine grouper sandwich served with fried green tomatoes. after 8:00 it is converted to evening entertainment and we saw the line forming at the door. We will be back again."

  • "1) Superb food. 2) Calamari with a difference (loved it) 3) Lamb chops were simply March madness(Yum, yum!) 4) Daughter had the best roast lamb sandwich. Did not share a bite. 5) Service was the best ever. Very caring and attentive. 6) Will go again."

  • "A modern decorated and designed place for quality sushi, appetizers, or entrees just a short walk from the Ferris Wheel, CNN, Phillips, or Georgia Dome. The staff are professional and warm."

  • "Had a great time with spouse and 2 staff members while in Atlanta for a conference. The food is delicious and creative. The waitstaff is friendly and professional. This was our second visit and won't be our last! We'll be back next year during our conference!"

  • "My second visit; GREAT place---food and service!!!"

  • "Went there for the sushi with my wife, the calamari was unique in that of was served dressed. They had just sat a large party do out rolls were taking a bit. The waiter brought us a couple of salads while we waited then the chef visited our table. The sushi was fresh and tasty."

  • "Our evening was wonderful. The service and food were over the top. Loved that the manager on duty checked in with us several times to make sure everything was great. Loved it and look forward to going back!"

  • "I had a great time at Thrive. The server was very nice and welcoming, the drinks and food came very fast. The only complain I have is that my food was not warm enough. I ordered the duck breast and even though it was kind of cold, it was delicious."

  • "Our experience at Thrive was good. I wish they had a larger variety of food. The menu is very limited but the drinks were great. It's definitely a hot spot in Atlanta but the kitchen closes early, even on weekends. I would recommend it and will certainly dine there again."

  • "Went there for my friend's birthday. Such a great location- right by CNN center. They went the extra mile by decorating the table for us and giving my friend a tiara. Service was great. I was surprised that there weren't more people there on a Friday night!! It's such a great place that hopefully more will discover it. I know I will definitely be back!"

  • "The filet was unseasoned and bland. The not so famous Brussels sprouts tasted a bit like braised dirt. The crab ragoon appetizer was okay, but had a strong flavor I can only best associate with pimento cheese. The place was completely empty by 7:30pm. The server was very good. The sleek atmosphere was as promised, but benches showed wear in the form of cracked holes that should have been repaired long ago. At 8pm, the lights and atmosphere changed with more of a disco-ish feel which felt completely silly since no one was there. All in all, it was just a huge disappointment and had it not been a business dinner, I would have sent it all back and left. The only thing going for this place..was the server."

  • "We were from out of town and needed a nice sit-down spot for lunch close to the Sam Nunn Federal Building. This was a great choice! The server was extremely nice and accommodating of our need to be served and dash quickly for a meeting."

  • "We waited 15 minutes after we were seated to order drinks. We ordered Manhattans on the rocks and when I asked what Bourbons they had, he had no clue. Drinks came 15 minutes later and were not on the rocks. We placed our food order and I asked that the lamb chops come with farm vegetables instead of rice and was informed that the chef does not alter his preparations. I told him, I didn't want rice and to ask the chef for vegetables instead. He informed me the chef would do it but for a $5 dollar up charge. We ordered dessert and told the server we were pressed for time. After 15-20 minutes and still no dessert, we flagged the server down. We told him we needed the check and he told us we'd have to pay for the desserts we never received."

  • "I visited Thrive the weekend of my birthday and had a fantastic time. This was my first visit and I will definitely return in the near future. The food was phenomenal and cooked to perfection!! Completely satisfied from the food, the service, to the selection of alcohol. I recommend Thrive 100 percent."

  • "The most notable is the contemporary atmosphere, the availability of specialty cocktails and the sushi menu. There are limited choices as far as other food is concerned."

  • "+ - Deco was modern/sleek. - Scott was a great waiter, attentive and friendly. - Food was good but nothing spectacular that you couldn't get anywhere else. - - The kitchen closed at 9:30, too early for a weekend. They said it was to make way for the club it turns into, but it did not take them that long to get it ready. - The club was supposed to open at 11, but it didn't open until around 11:40. - They have 4 separate rooms for the bathroom. One of the women's rooms was closed because the door window was broken. They could have covered it with paper, I had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. - Parking is $5. It should be free if I'm coming to eat. Even though it wasn't bad per se, nothing really stood out for me to want to come back."

  • "When we go to Theatrical Outfit, we stop at Thrive and have their Spiced Tuna with forbidden rice. Because they use #1 Sushi Grade Togorashi tuna, it can be cut with fork and is delicious."

  • "Service was impeccable, great ambiance, pot stickers were too dry but the sushi was excellent with an outstanding presentation!"

  • "I went there expecting a normal restaurant and a little bit afraid because I was the responsible for a large group including some europeans, and every single participant loved everything, the food, the drinks, the environment and services. It was one of the best places I've ever been in Atlanta."

  • "Conveniently located with accessible parking, Thrive has innovative, reasonably priced lunch options that are just delicious."

  • "Nice location . Easy free parking, not hard to find. Staff very attentive. Menu well rounded, something for everyone. Decor needs updated and repaired. Kitchen looked clean and well organized. Restrooms small and dark. Would do again, try the grits and scallops!"

  • "Our business dinner was a success here - 8 of us all together. The bar served one of the best mulled mint juleps I've ever had - this one had the addition of fresh crushed blackberries - very delicious! Our table had a variety of appetizers and entrees - from sushi to seafood to fillets - all prepared flawlessly. The waiter was ESL, and didn't always understand us, but took reasonable care of us. Great wine list - we found some delicious cabs very reasonably priced. Very nice meal at a good value in a unique setting convenient to the downtown hotels - we will be back! - Epicurious."

  • "Thrive had a great menu for both sushi and other foods. The place was quiet because it was such a cold night so the waitress was very attentive. Food was great, location nice (right downtown), and service excellent."
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "Good food. My lamb was perfect! The only downside was the parking. The restaurant parking lot is very small and was full. I spent 20 minutes searching for cheap parking."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "Food and Service were very good-the restaurant itself-could use some updating(i.e. new paint job on near the windows). We were sitting by the window and the paint was all cracked. My wife wouldn't even put her purse on the window as she felt it would get paint chips on or in her bag. Overall the food and service were good-but I found the decor/ambience outdated."

  • "Food is excellent, outstanding service from Leonardo. But the restaurant was so cold that we had to eat with our coats on. But I would reconnect this place for any occasion."

  • "Lovely experience beginning to end. Try a signature cocktail, they are complex and refreshing."

  • "This place was beautiful inside. Very chill, and nicely furnished. I had the rocket salad. It tasted better than it looked (not that it looked nasty, it just had about 4 ingredients so it didn't look like much). I also, had the crab rangoon which was very tasty. I wish I could've had more. They also have a nice sushi selection so between the appetizers, the dish and sushi, you can definitely get a filling and tasty meal."

  • "The dinner was excellent. 5 courses plus champagne for $55. We had lobster."

  • "We ate here on New Year's Eve prior to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, so a special set menu was offered. The food was good, but not great. The service was quick, although the server didn't really know anything about the dishes and seemed offended when several of the females in the group didn't "clean their plates"."

  • "Went with small group, food was good entrée was better than the apps. Service was good but waiter was a little pushy on ordering more food and cocktails. Good location downtown"
