A word from Three Degrees
To be honest, the view came first. There aren't many places that command the vantage point we enjoy here at Three Degrees, so we like to make sure it lives up to Portland.

We do that with a blend of the traditional and the non, the comfortable and the slightly twisted, the satisfying food and the swinging drink.

Most of all, we like to share. Between well-traveled Executive Chef Tom Dunklin, and Lauro Romero as Chef du Cuisine, Three Degrees embraces the Shared Plate philosophy that encourages more people to enjoy more flavors in more ways than any single plate can accommodate. And because we're Portland, we make it as local as possible. When we see water we think fish, so you'll find plenty of it on our menu. Basically, we just like to keep it fresh.

Three Degrees is where food & drink & people always complement each other, and everything goes with the view.

  • "The four of us selected different items and we were all satisfied. The appetizers, the salads, and the entrees were all very tasty. I had the crusted halibut and the halibut was as good as any I have recently had. We also needed to get in and out and make it to the play at the nearby Keller Auditorium and did so. So, the food, the service and the ambience were all very good and the location was quite convenient for going to the play."

  • "This restaurant is set in a lovely spot, and there is valet parking available. The outdoor seating affords a view of the marina. Wait staff are pleasant and efficient. The menu is interesting, if a bit esoteric, the entrees well prepared and beautifully presented. Few options available for alternate menu items, and the only soup available without a shellfish base included frogs legs! No milk was available, and the bar doesn't have a blender, so no blended margaritas can be had. Dinner for two was $120, plus tip, but we did have wine. Nice for a special dinner, but check out their menu online first, to assure that it meets your preferences, and fits your purse."

  • "From the minute my friend and I walked in, we knew it was going to be a nice meal. We were in a semi-rush because we were heading to the Keller Auditorium within an hour. We needn't have worried. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delish! The dessert was over the top good. I set aside my rule of only a couple of bites, and vacuumed it up! This restaurant was a great surprise."

  • "I needed a place to take out of town guests for lunch on a lovely day. Three Degrees is in the River Place Hotel, and its handsome restaurant and bar overlook a marina and activities on the Willamette River. Service was friendly and good, except for an order of excellent fries that didn't arrive until we were almost finished our meals. Three of our 4-person group ordered fish and pronounced it delicious. With some assistance from the staff, I was able to obtain a vegan lunch, but there was no entree on the menu that was vegan without making adjustments. I will probably return to Three Degrees, because it is so pleasant, but I'll probably have to order the same dish and request the same modifications."

  • "The best thing about Three Degrees is the location. Situated right on the waterfront on a beautiful spot coupled with a large open and airy dining room make it a very comfortable place to go. That said I really wish the food was better! It's not that the food is bad, it just underwhelms me.... consistently. My husband and I have been there numerous times and each time we leave with the feeling of "eh..." So why do we go back? Again the location, free parking and generally happy, upbeat staff. Please put a chef in the kitchen that excites the palate and then you might have something worth talking about!"

Understand, we have 2 kids who we love and adore and we never have adult time away so we took the opportunity of her birthday to go away and had dinner at # degrees and oh my. Lets start with the outdoor sitting.... amazing, weather... gorgeous, server... wow talk about service, Sarah you attitude, demeanor, smile and conversation are second to none, did I mention an adult outdoor piñata. That's right I mean 3 degrees blew us away. So if you are looking for a great romantic place to have dinner that's outdoors look nowhere else than our new fav 3 degrees."

We all had breakfast meals and very happy with our choices, including our teenage boys. A nice touch of having free Memosa's for Moms added to the special day.   • "We went to Three Degrees for Mother's Day brunch. The view did not disappoint, but the food was mediocre. I had the egg white scramble which turned out to be cooked egg whites with the other ingredients on the side (avocado, kale, tomato, etc was all on the side of the eggs, not scrambled in). The quinoa side was extremely watery and bland. Mom had the lemon pancakes which were definitely better than what I had. Husband's mom had bacon and eggs which seemed fine, but it's hard to mess up bacon and eggs. The service was slow, but it was personable. In a city of amazing restaurants, this place is going to have to improve to make it. View alone will not do it."

The hostess is friendly and seats your table promptly. The table servers are not managed well. They seem to be short staffed and always running around.   • "I booked a reservation because I was staying in the hotel the restaurant was located in and I wasn't sure how busy it was going to be when I would want to eat. I really didn't need the reservation, as it didn't get busy until later on. The food was fresh and tasty, and so much better than I expected from a hotel restaurant. The food arrived promptly, and it was still hot and exactly to order. The service was prompt, consistent without being overwhelming, and very friendly. The waitress explained to me that all of the paddlers I saw out on the river were practicing for the dragon boat races in June. It was fun to watch them practice as I was eating alone. Since this is a hotel restaurant, I'm looking forward to my remaining meals while here."

  • "Two things are of prime importance for my enjoyment in dining out: pleasant staff and good food. Three Degrees has both. Each staff member, from hostess to waiting and kitchen staff, is friendly and good-hearted. And the menu reflects a good choice of slightly unusual offerings, as well as something for those less adventurous. Being of the less adventurous type, I can vouch for the great flavors found in the chicken and pork entrees. There's also a bit of playfulness in some of the food.....a lovely Italian custard, topped with cocoa puffs, for one. A wonderfully quiet atmosphere, and a great view of the river with the dragon boats practicing. We return to this restaurant whenever we visit Portland."

  • "My husband and I like to take our kids out to a new restaurant every weekend. This last weekend, on Valentine's Day, we took our kids to Three Degrees, not realizing it was going to be pretty busy everywhere due to the "holiday" (quotes because we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day). The restaurant was pretty full and the staff was extremely busy, however, we never got the impression that we were not the only table in the restaurant. When our server, or anyone else who came by to tend to us, was at our table, we were the only table that mattered, making sure our needs were met was the only concern. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back...maybe without the children next time."

  • "There is no menu for vegetarians, so I ordered crawfish tortellini. Admittedly it's my own fault for making reservations before checking the menu, but I am not to blame for the size of the entree I ordered. My 3 year old eats more then the portion I recieved on a regularly. I ended up eating some of my husbands chicken. I was rewarded with a bone I honestly thought broke a tooth. It took our server longer the. It our server awhile to say she could bring our table some house bread. I ate almost the entire loaf to myself. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is nice, if you don't eat meat/fish this isn't a restaurant for you. If you like caveman size portions of chicken and sausage(what my husband ordered and loved) you'll like it."

  • "This restaurant was chosen by my friend to celebrate a birthday. He considers it the best place in Portland, OR for excellent food and service. Our wait staff were attentive; brought soda and napkin to the table, when my friend jokingly said he needed to remove a spot on his tie. He corrected the person bringing plates for not approaching from the left side and he expected removal to be from the right (which was done). Our waitress was attentive, helpful with suggestions, and interacted well with an extroverted personality. I found the food to be superb and the service excellent."
