A word from Three Degrees
To be honest, the view came first. There aren't many places that command the vantage point we enjoy here at Three Degrees, so we like to make sure it lives up to Portland.

We do that with a blend of the traditional and the non, the comfortable and the slightly twisted, the satisfying food and the swinging drink.

Most of all, we like to share. Between well-traveled Executive Chef Tom Dunklin, and Lauro Romero as Chef du Cuisine, Three Degrees embraces the Shared Plate philosophy that encourages more people to enjoy more flavors in more ways than any single plate can accommodate. And because we're Portland, we make it as local as possible. When we see water we think fish, so you'll find plenty of it on our menu. Basically, we just like to keep it fresh.

Three Degrees is where food & drink & people always complement each other, and everything goes with the view.

Diner Reviews
  • "We ate breakfast here several days because it was in our hotel. It was equally subpar all three days. Staff was cheerful but orders were confused and incorrect. Orange juice tasted fresh out of a box, eggs were lacking in taste and bacon was cooked to the consistency of beef jerky. The did write off my omelet one morning when the order was totally muddled. It was just inadequate for a moderately expensive hotel. The view is good over the river."

  • "The soup was excellent and a generous portion as well. The kale caesar salad was very nice and also generous. However, the cod fritters offered a skimpy portion. And the dungeness crab with melon and fried oyster offered a negligible amount to eat and was not very good."

  • "Would have been quiet. Just happened to have a large loud group next to us."

  • "We had a group of seven people who went to brunch at Three Degrees. The view was beautiful and the food was very good. I appreciated that there were some creative things on the menu, such as lemon pancakes. Our service was very friendly and attentive. While this is a nice restaurant, I thought the prices were reasonable given the setting ($12 or $13 for each dish)."

  • "7 of us dined on a variety of small plates and very nice wines. We had 1 main entree. none of us left hungry. the smoked salmon and the tuna was outstanding as was our waitress who definitely paid attention to details. moderately priced, nice view of the river and a pleasant spot to stop for drinks. this was my 3rd time dining there."

  • "The hostess was very nice and sat us at our table with smile. The table had a very nice view, from there it was down hill. Our waitress obviously wanted to be somewhere else and often was disappearing several time long enough to leave all the tables around us looking around wondering if they would get their food, their bill or more water. The food was borderline uneatible and left me wishing I would have walked down the shore to another restaurant."

  • "We ate outdoors on the patio, which is very nice, with a great view of the river. It is also fairly quiet as it is elevated. We had an appetizer which is a baked oyster on crab and melon and it was wonderful with light spice. For dinner I had the Cod, which had a great sauce, and my dining companion had the ribeye which he said was excellent. Waitress was great."

  • "We celebrated our 47th with a dinner at Three Degrees. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was not full. Our waiter, the food, the window table, and the friendly atmosphere was most enjoyable. We both found aspects of our side dishes wanting. My wife's risotto was undercooked and the chicory, while delicious, was hard to cut with a butter knife. Our server was a highlight and she engaged her customers well. Finally, I thought the host and the bar server were pretty inept. We had mentioned our anniversary on the reservation and did not receive even a "happy anniversary" from the staff. Bottom line: we will go back and our 47th was a very nice evening thanks to Three Degrees."

  • "Great being outside with the view etc but the food was just so so. Very strange combinations. Chef trying to out-chef himself. Waiter Michael was very accommodating. Lovely spot but just drink"

  • "When we want to go out for a classy brunch with friends, we often chose the 3 Degrees. I love having linen tablecloths and nice china. The view of the water adds a nice ambiance."

  • "I love to take out of town friends here on sunny days. I know the food is always good, they have a nice wine list and craft cocktails. Great atmosphere, service and dog-friendly too."

  • "The service was great. We were in an out-of -the way table, but were never forgotten. The menu is fresh and local and is very interesting. The food was tasty and the ambiance pleasant."

  • "Great potential and nice location but poor service. The restaurant was mostly empty but we barely saw our waiter. Nice views and tasty food, but part of my food was cold by the time we were served. What a shame !"

  • "The four of us selected different items and we were all satisfied. The appetizers, the salads, and the entrees were all very tasty. I had the crusted halibut and the halibut was as good as any I have recently had. We also needed to get in and out and make it to the play at the nearby Keller Auditorium and did so. So, the food, the service and the ambience were all very good and the location was quite convenient for going to the play."

  • "This restaurant is set in a lovely spot, and there is valet parking available. The outdoor seating affords a view of the marina. Wait staff are pleasant and efficient. The menu is interesting, if a bit esoteric, the entrees well prepared and beautifully presented. Few options available for alternate menu items, and the only soup available without a shellfish base included frogs legs! No milk was available, and the bar doesn't have a blender, so no blended margaritas can be had. Dinner for two was $120, plus tip, but we did have wine. Nice for a special dinner, but check out their menu online first, to assure that it meets your preferences, and fits your purse."

  • "Good food and a beautiful place to have dinner on a warm summer evening in Portland."

  • "From the minute my friend and I walked in, we knew it was going to be a nice meal. We were in a semi-rush because we were heading to the Keller Auditorium within an hour. We needn't have worried. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delish! The dessert was over the top good. I set aside my rule of only a couple of bites, and vacuumed it up! This restaurant was a great surprise."

  • "We love coming here. Perfect boardwalk view for anytime of day, but especially at sunrise. The food and service is great. The place is huge. The bar is stunning. It's a hidden gem that rarely has a wait!"

  • "Salmon was moist, tender, and tasteless. Eggplant cannelloni tough. Caesar salad did not even closely resemble a decent Caesar and was not pleasing. Will not go back."

  • "I needed a place to take out of town guests for lunch on a lovely day. Three Degrees is in the River Place Hotel, and its handsome restaurant and bar overlook a marina and activities on the Willamette River. Service was friendly and good, except for an order of excellent fries that didn't arrive until we were almost finished our meals. Three of our 4-person group ordered fish and pronounced it delicious. With some assistance from the staff, I was able to obtain a vegan lunch, but there was no entree on the menu that was vegan without making adjustments. I will probably return to Three Degrees, because it is so pleasant, but I'll probably have to order the same dish and request the same modifications."

  • "This was our first visit to their restaurant and it was very nice. We went for the view and location. The food is not your typical lunch spot menu, but we like to try different foods. We were surprised and satisfied with our selections and our server was prompt and friendly."

  • "The best thing about Three Degrees is the location. Situated right on the waterfront on a beautiful spot coupled with a large open and airy dining room make it a very comfortable place to go. That said I really wish the food was better! It's not that the food is bad, it just underwhelms me.... consistently. My husband and I have been there numerous times and each time we leave with the feeling of "eh..." So why do we go back? Again the location, free parking and generally happy, upbeat staff. Please put a chef in the kitchen that excites the palate and then you might have something worth talking about!"

  • "My husband ordered the salmon and was disappointed that no selection of rice or pasta to accompany his salmon, only fingerling potatoes. My rib eye steak was very flavorful. A little disappointed on lack of selection of food/appetizers."

  • "The food was fine, not exceptional, except for the oyster sliders which were truly superb. Service was very friendly but slow and inattentive. It took forever to get our order and forever to get our food."

  • "This was a treat for my wife and I. Understand, we have 2 kids who we love and adore and we never have adult time away so we took the opportunity of her birthday to go away and had dinner at # degrees and oh my. Lets start with the outdoor sitting.... amazing, weather... gorgeous, server... wow talk about service, Sarah you attitude, demeanor, smile and conversation are second to none, did I mention an adult outdoor piñata. That's right I mean 3 degrees blew us away. So if you are looking for a great romantic place to have dinner that's outdoors look nowhere else than our new fav 3 degrees."

  • "The views and service from this restaurant were great! The waitress that worked with me did a great job. However, the food was left a lot of be desired. My chicken was dry and over done. The side dish was also dry. "

  • "We had a wonderful time at Three Degrees on Mother's Day. Very attentive staff, great food, and excellent view of the riverfront. We all had breakfast meals and very happy with our choices, including our teenage boys. A nice touch of having free Memosa's for Moms added to the special day. We plan to go back and enjoy the restaurant again."

  • "We went to Three Degrees for Mother's Day brunch. The view did not disappoint, but the food was mediocre. I had the egg white scramble which turned out to be cooked egg whites with the other ingredients on the side (avocado, kale, tomato, etc was all on the side of the eggs, not scrambled in). The quinoa side was extremely watery and bland. Mom had the lemon pancakes which were definitely better than what I had. Husband's mom had bacon and eggs which seemed fine, but it's hard to mess up bacon and eggs. The service was slow, but it was personable. In a city of amazing restaurants, this place is going to have to improve to make it. View alone will not do it."

  • "Three Degrees has a great menu and the food continues to impress me. However, this is the third and final time I will dine at Three Degrees because of the service. The hostess is friendly and seats your table promptly. The table servers are not managed well. They seem to be short staffed and always running around. Additionally they are not very friendly, likely because they are feeling the pressure of unhappy customers. "

  • "I booked a reservation because I was staying in the hotel the restaurant was located in and I wasn't sure how busy it was going to be when I would want to eat. I really didn't need the reservation, as it didn't get busy until later on. The food was fresh and tasty, and so much better than I expected from a hotel restaurant. The food arrived promptly, and it was still hot and exactly to order. The service was prompt, consistent without being overwhelming, and very friendly. The waitress explained to me that all of the paddlers I saw out on the river were practicing for the dragon boat races in June. It was fun to watch them practice as I was eating alone. Since this is a hotel restaurant, I'm looking forward to my remaining meals while here."
