  • "Very disappointed in beer selection. Demerit points just for that. Nothing I couldn't buy at jewel. If you don't live in neighborhood, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Had burger and octopus and some apps. Burger was good but octopus for being grilled , was expecting a little char and didn't get it . Maybe that's just me.. Flavor was ok. I could see how the patio could be a lot of fun in summer. "

  • "I made a large reservation on a saturday night and they were extremely accommodating, even put us near TVs to watch a game. I've also had brunch on the patio during the summer and that was great as well!"

  • "Great food and drinks. Menu changes regularly with new and unique dishes. Always interested in seeing what the chef has created. The vodka sours are the best. The outside dining is the best. Can't wait for it to open. Would highly recommend this place to all."

  • "I really liked the atmosphere, but thought the food was overhyped. The baked olive dish was very good, but needs more bread! 2 pieces just isn't enough for an $8 dish. The pork tenderloin was well-cooked, but needed more seasoning apart from the cheese. Maybe our server was having an off night and we took some time making decisions, but it felt like she was giving us a lot of attitude, and we believe she deliberately ignored us, refusing to make eye contact at least twice."

  • "Definitely not the usual bar fare. Real restaurant fare at reasonable prices. Great mortadella pizza...served on a slice of tree trunk? Odd. Music is way too loud and ambience is totally bar. Okay for an after work or before game nosh."

  • "I was not expecting such a good restaurant out of what looked like a small neighborhood bar but I was impressed. Good bar scene on the Friday we went although it was a bit dark inside. They had patio seating but it was too cold the day we went. We sat at a table near a few students playing pool but there was plenty of room between us and the group playing. Their beer menu was solid, it had some unique and very good brews. Their Ace burger was delicious."

  • "Place is good for a romantic date. Food isn't all that great, overpriced definitely. Not on my top list at all."

  • "This place has amazing food for a "biker bar" type of atmosphere. The burgers are the best we've ever had! Great beer selection too."

  • "Got charged $14 for bringing in birthday cupcakes from home. We weren't notified that there was going to be a service charge, not was this listed clearly on the menu or when making the reservation. The waitress, who was nice, even took one of the cupcakes we offered her but did not mention the surcharge or comp it after taking a cupcake. Put a bit of a damper on an otherwise pleasant night."

  • "The pork rinds were fantastic. I had the special corned beef special. It was so good that I went back the next night in hopes if having it again. They had a different special, but I had another great meal. For those of you who have never tried one of Three Aces vodka sours, I highly recommend them. Can't wait for the outside to open!"

  • "It's a VERY casual, loud bar with GREAT food! Good drinks including Moscow Mules!"

  • "My husband and I don't have the opportunity to eat out very often, so perhaps we feel disappointment more deeply than others whose next meal out is just around the corner. We picked Three Aces for dinner before a show at the United Center because it had been highly recommended by on-line reviewers and had availability. The ambience is basic-bar - dark, musty, loud conversation. Our server was less than friendly, more like uninterested. Maybe this place only cares about regulars. But how do you become a regular if you're not treated in a way that makes you feel the people working there were glad you came? The food was okay - the risotto with beef cheeks had more meat flavor than my Aces burger, which was overpowered by the toppings."

  • "Nice spot to chill and grab a drink and chit chat. They have a large outdoor patio which was closed off due it still being winter. However, it was very nice indoors. Great cocktail menu and many beers to choose from. Their wood oven pizzas are great and their special french fries are awesome. I definitely recommend checking this place out."

  • "The food at this place is outstanding. It's a fairly small menu, and you need to be a little adventurous, but their pairings for entrees are delicious! We had scallops, mushroom risotto with beef cheeks and the hamburger. Highly recommend! Might be a little intimidating for suburbanites. Great beer and cocktails too!"

  • "Went with my husband for Valentine's Day - we have been several times and Three Aces is one of our favorite spots. We love the cheese and charcuterie to start off with. We have always wanted to try the burger because it looks so good and finally did...it was perfectly cooked and delicious. We also had the risotto with braised beef, I didn't want to share it! Didn't make it to dessert this time, but enjoyed some excellent drinks. Our server was terrific, so friendly & helpful! We can always count on great service here and have never been disappointed. We tend to always get sat right next to the pool table, so I would like to be able to sit somewhere else next time. It gets a little crowded with people playing pool. Music is awesome!"

  • "Great beer selection, the Mushroom was risotto was absolutely delicious, great atmosphere, it was a blizzard out and freezing, seating hostess sat us down at the warmest seat in the house. Great time, Definitely coming back."

  • "I have a short list for places to take friends, dates, celebrate birthdays, and day drink. Three Aces is on every one of those lists. It's laid back and fun with food that typically isn't. Everything I've ever had there has been stellar and seasonal, the cocktails are magic and the beer list is always changing and really excellent. It's noisy sometimes and it's kinda dark at night, but that adds to the awesome. During the summer, the outside is a perfect spot to eat, drink, and hang out."

  • "This is really one of the best/top restaurants in Chicago, and the best part about it is it's a neighborhood spot, very affordable fun and they are dishing up some great meals that are thoughtfully prepared and fresh. Not to mention, their waitstaff is amazing and very attentive, no mater how busy it is. We always have such a fun time, whether it's just the two of us or we're with a group. This is a GREAT spot and I can't wait fro my next meal there - probably later this week!"

  • "Varied menu with unique ingredient combinations. Not your typical bar food. The burger and short rib pizza were wonderful. The bolognese sauce was yummy as a dip for the fries. My only criticism is that it was SO dark! There was a candle on the table that I had to hold right up to the menu and could still hardly see to read it. They were also out of the cocktail I ordered. To their credit they brought me an alternate drink to taste."

  • "This place rocks as long as you love bacon. They are noted as winning several years awards for most creative use of bacon. And boy do they deliver in a great way. I have been here quite a few times and I never leave hungry or dissapointed. They also have a pretty big beer list of drafts and bottles along with some cocktails. This place would be $$ out of $$$$$ as far as cost goes it's not crazy expensive but some things are."

  • "We were running down our list of best burger places in Chicago so we had to try the Ace Burger at Three Aces. It was very good and I'd definitely order it again, but it wasn't as good as some of the other top-rated places. They also serve their fries with a bolognese sauce -- it wasn't for me but others in our group raved about that unique twist on the fries"

  • "Group of three looking for the best burger in Chicago - Three Aces was on the list so we tried it. Really, it seems like a bar more than anything - hard rock played at high volume cuts into the table conversation but we all tend to like a good bar atmosphere. For the the main event, I have to say (and all agreed) one of the best burgers I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, great combination of ingredients, just damn near perfect. Will return anytime I'm in the mood for the burger - frankly, I don't recall much else about the menu!!"

  • "There were 6 of us and 3 of us ordered the short rib panini at the recommendation of the server. When our food arrived, I opened up my panini to find zero meat on the bread. It had cheese and a couple of slices of mushrooms scattered across the bread. My two other dining companions who ordered the panini looked at theirs too and it was the same thing. What the heck?? We showed the server and she took our plates back to the kitchen. About 30 minutes later, our sandwiches showed up again with a minimum amount of meat. By then, we ate them because we were starving. The owner took them off the bill, but we still left feeling ripped off and embarrassed that we recommended the restaurant to our friends."

  • "Three Aces is a very noisy rocker bar with surprisingly good food. There atmosphere of this bar/restaurant is loud and crowded and dark. The noise level was so high it was difficult to hold a conversation without raising our voices . The service was fair for a crowded restaurant. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations were good. The pizzetta appetizer (porchetta sausage) was great for sharing with good flavor. The Ace burger was the best we've had in a long time. The drink selection was excellent. There was a huge beer selection and the mixed drinks were also good. We had the pomegranate lemonade and it was excellent. As long as you know it will be difficult to hold a conversation, I would go back again for the food."

  • "We went to Three Aces before a concert at UIC Pavilion. It's within walking distance, and definitely worth the stop. We were initially attracted by it's outstanding selection of micro-brews. The group I was eating with enjoyed trying new beers, and getting to order some of our traditional (but hard to find) favorites. The food was top notch. We had the amazingly buttery and delicious brussel sprouts and the duck fat chips to start (eh). My husband, who is a burger fanatic, was not disappointed by theirs. One of the best he's had in awhile, according to him. We also had the flatbread with short ribs and ham/beet salad. The service was a little slow, but our waitress was very nice (and they were very busy). Make reservations, & come!"

  • "I'd been curious about Three Aces. So we went. Loud. Very loud. Weird menu. Mediocre food. Not going back."

  • "This is a local bar on Taylor street, but the food is far from usual. Everything we ordered was delicious from the duck fat chips to the pasta. They have a special fun drinks menu too. Be prepared, if you are in the main bar area it is noisy. If you want it quieter ask for a table in the back area where it's a little quieter."

  • "We had a late seating, so most of what we wanted was no longer available. Food was good, thought the bolognese fries were soggy. Our Server was attentive."

  • "Saw their photo of the special on Three Aces facebook page & booked the reservation. Bustling Friday night crowd. Excellent food. Always something new on the menu & whatever is on menu is spot on. We had the pork shoulder which melted in your mouth. Also the special was sausages over pumpkin spatzle with kale & a poached egg. Exceptional beer list. Vibrant atmosphere. Good service."

  • "If you plan on enjoying any conversation with your dining partners, forget it. This place had music blaring so loud you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you. Might be fine for drinks, but the atmosphere for dining was atrocious. Never again."

  • "While our food was good, the portions were way too small. Also, I had two cocktails. One was a classic - Corpse Reviver #2 - and it was the worst one I have ever had. It tasted like frat house punch."

  • "Three Aces was not quite what I was expecting, when going for their "bike night" on Sundays.... It is more Hip than Rough, has a diverse menu and MANY selections to choose from on the Beer Menu!! The patio was loud and energetic, with a Rock-a-billy band playing (playing very well too!!). It was also Womens Mud Wrestling night, so we were not expecting to see a bunch of ladies in costumes running around the bar, but the people watching was priceless!! Try on of the pizza's, if you like thin crust home made!! Many entree's are great as well!"

  • "Three Aces is an awesome find in the Little Italy/UIC Medical District area. The food is very well done, using interesting and fun ingredients, and the service is top notch. Love the music - a great mix of today, 80s punk, and rockabilly. The scene is ridiculous - medical professionals, 20-somethings, bikers and greasers - but everyone is looking to have a great time and eat great food. Drinks are fantastic and the beer selection is top-notch. We love this place, esp sitting on the patio on a great summer night,"
