  • "We enjoyed our meal but the regular prices were quite high for the portions offered. The cider chicken was amazing! The service was excellent and we used a groupon but our waitress was very helpful about it. The only other downside was their air sounded like a horrible industrial fan that made my head want to explode- but it wasn't constant and the ambiance was very nice otherwise. Would recommend to friends"

  • "I was really disappointed in my dining experience. I had been really looking forward to eating here and had heard from a friend for years about how much she liked this place. This was the first time I had eaten at this restaurant. They were severely understaffed. We waited at the host stand for at least 10 minutes before we were helped despite having a reservation. Then it was at least another 10-15 minutes until our server arrived. She was rather rude. She took our entire order at once. They were out of the entree that I ordered, which wasn't a huge deal, though disappointing. Our appetizer was cold. Our entrees were decent, but nothing special. Perhaps we hit them on a bad night. Regardless, I wouldn't come back."

  • "Came in and stood for a few minutes, then had a gal tell us to find a table. She seemed a little unfriendly. Then we sat, she brought water, then completely ignored us, walking by waiting on others for a full 20 min before I asked the waitress from the upper deck if she would please wait on us. She did and did a pretty good job especially considering running back and fourth from upstairs. The food was good, plates a little smaller than my last visit. All and all it was o.k. might give it another chance since I have liked it before this."

  • "This is a great place for an adult night out! We have been twice and we were amazed by the food both times. We really went back for the beef tips with burgundy mushrooms. Delicious! And their drinks! Strong and smooth just the way we like them. One of the best places to eat in Kansas City! Ambience is perfect for date night. Vincent Cook is there Tuesday thru Saturday playing the piano and crooning out tunes."

  • "We purchased a coupon online and went on Friday May 30 2014. Service was a little slow getting to our table and seemed hurried when he arrived but took our drink order and left. We ordered and food arrived promptly at the appropriate temperature. It seems like device was slow and maybe they were understaffed that evening. "

  • "Have dined here many times in the past without any hesitation. Great food, people, and atmosphere. One of our favorites! This past Saturday was 100% off compared to other nights. It was very slow due to Memorial Day, so one might think we would have better service and attention. Took forever to be greeted by our server. Another 10 minutes to get cocktails from the bar (even though no other guests were at the bar), food took extra long, and to top or off our server shorted us 10 dollars in change for the bill. She had the nerve to act confused when I got up from my table to present my findings to her. This last trip really put doubts in our mind about coming back. I hope things turn around."

The food was fantastic (we had the calamari and buffalo mozzarella ravioli small plates and the burger, chicken, and salmon for dinner). The atmosphere was relaxed and elegant, with live music, and intimate lighting. I would highly recommend for a scrumptious meal for a special occasion."

  • "My fiancé wanted to go to "someplace different" for her birthday. The food was very good. We had crab cakes for an appetizer (highly recommend that choice). Then she had stuffed pork chops and I had a seafood pasta. We enjoyed both. Then for desert we shared chocolate cake and turtle cheese cake. Sinfully satisfying. Now our server (Aaron) was firmly in his element. He was there just as we needed him, but, didn't interrupt when he wasn't needed. He had great anticipation for his customer needs. He was pleasant but, not annoying. Easily the best service I have received in 2 years and I eat out at least twice a week. The piano player was a nice touch. I would, however, been more impressed if he dress the part. "

  • "...our waitress - not so impressive. She was clearly annoyed that my daughter returned the strawberry daiquiri because the first one tasted like plain lime juice. She was also not happy with my comment that, while the flank steaks tasted very good, they were rare, not medium as ordered (which was clear by the amount of blood on the plates). She only said: "You could have asked me to cook them longer". Yes, true but we wanted to eat our meals together. After those two glitches I didn't even want to mention the hair my daughter found in her mashed potatoes. Since we used a Groupon maybe our expectations were supposed to be at 50% off as well... My husband and I have reservations in 2 weeks so hopefully we will have a different server then."

The flavors are perfect and compliment each other fabulously. The bartender made perfect martinis and the wait staff was attentive and helpful. Run dont walk to this little hidden gem."

We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and Vincent (the piano man) added a nice ambiance to the whole evening. We look forward to return visits!"

  • "We chose Thomas after looking through reviews on Open Table for a neighborhood restaurant with charm and great food. I chose Thomas and couldn't have been happier. For our appetizer we ordered the Crab Cakes. Best we've had in KC. For the entree, I ordered the Buttermilk Cider Chicken and my husband had the Pork Chop. Both were full of flavor, tender, and juicy. Meals came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Our only negative was our waitress. She did her job, but no personality. She only said "welcome" when we told her this was our first time. She was of no extra help to us. We were too early for the piano player, but we will visit again and make sure our reservations fit his schedule."

  • "As previous reviewers had noted they had gone on a Groupon so I was dreading my experience. I can say it was just the opposite. I had a very nice experience and most of the diners there that night were on a Groupon and all the waitresses were very friendly so maybe management talked to their staff. I had the Pan Fried Chicken which was outstanding and the Crab Cake appetizers was very good. My husband had the Thomas Chicken Diablo and he really enjoyed it. Loved the piano player I just wish he had started earlier so we didn't have to leave. And one thing is, he didn't play too loud so you could still have a conversation. I would go again."

  • "First visit, table of four. Pleasant, simply decorated, with old brick walls above the bar, and wooden floor. Table setting plain, with butcher paper over paper tablecloth, but with linen napkins. Stainless, utilitarian silverware. Good mixed-drink and beer selections, but didn't evaluate wine list. Appetizers were very tasty. Entrees were varied and interesting. The roasted duck was absolutely outstanding! The pork chop dish and the seafood combo were likewise well-received. Did not have dessert. All in all, we really enjoyed our dining experience. Prices were moderate. We had no complaints."
