Head in the direction of Thirty Seven North, the new dining destination for elegant "farm to table", American cuisine. Our Virginia Beach restaurant provides a casual on-the-water atmosphere in the Shore Drive area that is warm, local, and far north of ordinary. We pride ourselves on bringing you the freshest seasonal ingredients available and preparing modern fare using local produce, meats, and seafood with both traditional and exotic recipes. Our menu is ever-changing so that we can evolve with the seasons and today’s freshest catch.

  • "Went back to thirty 7 north and had another fantastic dinner. Some friends came in from New York and we had a wonderful evening with some great wine. I had the tuna which was cooked perfectly. My guests had salmon, ribs, steak and scallops. The ribs maybe the best ribs I have ever tried in Virginia beach. The server told us about the Sunday brunch so I came back with my family today for brunch. The food was amazing but the Bloody Mary bar was the bomb. It's definitely a must have."

  • "My wife, my sister-in-law and myself went to check this place out because I had a Hampton Roads Perks certificate for it. Awesome drinks, awesome food & awesome service equal an awesome time. The drinks are a little pricey, but that's par for the course for most nicer restaurants. The food was incredible though. We will definitely be back and I would definitely recommend 37 North to anyone."

  • "had been a big fan of 37N in past -- all courses of meal flawed (shrimp appetizer undercooked and delayed, steak special full of grizzle, dessert dry and poorly flavored). server stated there could not be any substitutions for sides wih main course -- on previous dinners, this had not been the case. was wondering why it had not placed in Hampton Roads best this year and now know why"

  • "Me and my wife eat here a few times a year and will usually bring out of town visitors. The menu changes from time to time with a few favorites that are always on there. The food is always great no matter what you order. I am not a big wine drinker but the wine recommendations are always paired well as per my wife. Overall highly recommended"

  • "Many open tables actually were "ready" after arrival for reservation. Seated 10 before acknowledge our presence. Watched 2 couples seated behind us get drinks, bread, and even course 1 before we had a water! Salad came to table wilted with black edges on lettuce. Not appetizing. $9 salad and it was about 1/2 cup if pre-packaged mix. Shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasty but still unsure if green sauce ( if wasabi had no flavor). Entrees were good. Braised short ribs tasty and well cooked. Rockfish perfectly cooked but pricey for a local catch. We skipped desert for the local frozen yogurt shop. Enough disappointment for our $160.00 bill."

  • "Unfortunately the volume of diners had an impact on the food. There was a limited menu and some of the items just weren't as good as we typically found. Still good but not great. Extra tables were added so the room was very busy. Service was, as always, excellent! We had one item that just wasn't prepared well and it was adjusted without question. We'll definitely return, but not on a prime evening."

  • "This was my first time going to this restaurant that is the awesome thing about restaurant week is that is makes you want to step outside of your normal box. Well I am so glad that we did! Our waiter Richard was very knowledgeable about the food and seemed to genuinely like being there and being a waiter. He recommendations were delicious and what was on the special menu was the perfect sampling of what they could do. I will definitely be back and will recommend Thirty 7 North to anyone that will listen."

  • "Great atmosphere but very slow service. The restaurant appeared to be half empty when we arrived and at first glance it was apparent they were overwhelmed. We arrived on time and the hostess recommended we have a drink at the bar. No problem. 30 mins later the hostess came and said they were ready. After we sat down we waited and waited. Our server greeted us only to run off again. Once he came back he took our order, told war stories of his old job and eventually got our food, which was good. I never did get that coffee I ordered. If you're gonna do restaurant week ya gotta staff it."

  • "One of the most innovative restaurants in Hampton Roads is Thirty Seven North. The bar, the food, the service and wine list are all superb. This visit was on "restaurant week" where restaurants in the city give a 3 course meal for $20. My meal started with "Duck Chowder followed by Braised Short Ribs. My dessert was a delicious Chocolate. As a bonus, Wednesday is half off wine, and I chose a 2010 California Red Blend, normally $70, which I got for $35. The service at the bar (Woodford Manhattans) and at our table were "rock star" quality. I visit here is a must for foodies and those looking for a first class dining experience"

  • "We have been to 37N many times and count it as one of our all-time favorites in Virginia Beach. However, we must have caught them on an "off" night. The fried shrimp were soft and doughy, when they should have been light and crispy. Two of us had the scallop entree, which consisted of 3 scallops on a small bed of spaetzel, peas and wilted arugula for $28 - definitely overpriced compared to a similar entree we had last year that had 4 scallops on a bed of spaghetti squash with cream and bacon - yum!! The service was excellent, though, but it couldn't make up for the "miss" on the food."

The food was fantastic, the service was spot on and we loved the atmosphere. We found the wine list to be extensive and offered many options.   • "Once again thirty 7 north did not let us down. The wife and I had a great evening and hats off to Jamie the chef and his team. We started with some oysters on the half shell they are the best in town followed up i had the flounder dish which was incredible, my wife had the scallops and they were spectacular. We had a nice bottle of wine and even bought a couple additional bottles to take home with us. Never knew we can buy from the restaurant, saved a bunch of money over total wine. We plan on bringing some out of town guests this weekend to this gem of a place."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood is 37 North. We enjoy the food,wine list and service. Unfortunately, on this visit we only got 1 of the 3.The food was excellent, but the service was bad, which was strange because we part of a training model where one girl was training another. Hopefully, this was the lesson "how NOT to be a server". The "experienced" server was not very engaged with keeping my table informed as to the status of our meal. It took an unusually long time to get our meal and we never found out why, although other tables were being served. The other jewel of 37 North typically is the wine list, BUT they were out of most of the wine and, surprise,only the most expensive selections were available. Not very good"

  • "Appreciated the tasty amuse bouche (ham and apple with port drizzle). The fried shrimp I would not order again, (can't help compare to Steiny's where the shrimp are lighter, less heavily battered), and the bread is not tempting, but the remainder of the meal was delicious: flounder, seared tuna, chicken breast. Probably enjoyed the veggies most of all: perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned brussel sprouts with lardons and broccoli rabe. The dessert we shared was worth every calorie: cherry and chocolate bar with coffee ice-cream and cocoa nib and granola sprinkle. Wish this restaurant had one or two lower priced dinner options (beside the $12 burger) so that I could eat here more often!"

  • "Once again, Thirty Seven North did not disappoint. We treated good friends to dinner and they had never been to the restaurant before but certainly will return. The specials were wonderful, salads very fresh and tasty and the Black Chicken was wonderful. Can't wait to return!"

  • "My "simply grilled" tuna (catch of the day) was the most perfectly prepared tuna steak in my 61 years...perfectly caramelized char marks, pink at the center, and unbelievably moist throughout. The roasted, halved, creamer potatoes and the roasted mushrooms I chose were flavorful and firm. My wife's scallops (seared on just one side) were almost dessert-like in sweetness and countered nicely by the mizuna. The cocktail menu and wine list complement the kitchen's fresh approach. Unstuffy, open, contemporary decor. Nice ambiance. The lighting above the booths along the north wall was a bit brighter than perfect and the service was charming, yet a little uneven. Thirty 7 North is at the top of my very short list of places worthy of a return."

  • "We had the best waiter. He was very informative and attentive. Unfortunately the kitchen can't seem to handle number of people the restaurant holds. We have had that experience before that food is very slow coming out of the kitchen. In this case we did not complain but were told our appetizers were complimentary. That was very nice and unexpected."

  • "We had friends join us for dinner, the food was excellent. Beef tenderloin and bone in rib eye were perfect, the Crab cake and scallops were as tasty as it gets. One of our favorites is the buffalo bacon starter. Of course the sides were just as tasty. Thanks to the staff for wonderful service."

  • "Our first time here, based on recommendation of neighbors. Service was excellent. The décor is upscale and very nice. Apps and entrees were beautifully presented, and generally excellent. Two items on the menu were not available. A crab cake special was offered, but disappointed. Cherry pie dessert was rather bland and without the zing typical in a cherry pie. But all-in-all a very pleasant dining experience. We will return to give them another chance to impress us."
