  • "TAKING GUESTS TO THIRSTY LION PUB & GRILL FOR LUNCH IS A JOY BECAUSE I AM GUARANTEED THAT EVERY PALATE WILL BE SURPRISINGLY PLEASED. THE VARIETY OF THE MENU IS THE BEST FOR THE MONEY, FLAVORS AND PAIRINGS. THANKS!"

  • "Food was pretty decent, we had a variety of appetizers, our favorite was the mac and cheese with corned beef and cabbage (there St. Paddy's day special). But the real starts were the variety of beers."

  • "Service was great but food was not up to par...out of 8 four dishes were terrible...the mac, corn beef and cabbage, panini not warm, fish and chips...too much batter, rest okay...would not go back..."

  • "I loved this place, my girlfriend and I went there and we were met with amazing service and the waiter ( who was a teacher) was absolutley perfect. Great food and a good time."

  • "I don't want to rate this restaurant to harshly, because this was our sixth time. I did rate those other five visits with 5 stars. Unfortunately, this visit was really horrible. First we always use open table to make a reservation, this restaurant really needs a hostess for the long line of walk ins and a hostess for the people with reservations. We ordered drinks which both came in dirty glasses, and we got a Blue Moon instead of the Hefewizen. The appetizer we ordered didn't show up until our dinner came out, and we mentioned the error, it was fixed free of charge. The fish tacos were excellent, the grilled skirt steak was dry and the entire dish was bland."

  • "We celebrated St. Paddy's Day at The Thirsty Lion Pub and were treated to Bag Pipes and Corned Beef and Cabage! It was a fun way to spend the holiday. When we arrived, the hostess told is she reserved a great spot right next to the band for us. Although it was, indeed, a great table, I told her that we didn't want to be that close because we wanted to be able to talk and enjoy our night. She was very gracious and sat us in the outer bar at a great booth/table and we had a wonderful night! Our olive and cheese flatbread was a great appetizer and the wine was exceptional! Our waitress was a bit slow; but then she had to wait on the entire bag pipe band! But, we were in no hurray and had a wonderful night! Check out The Thirsty Lion!"

  • "My husband and I went to Thirsty Lion on St. Patrick's Day. We were impressed that we were able to get in so quickly, but we weren't greeted by our server for quite a while. The food was pretty good. The live band was so loud that my husband and I were shouting across the table to each other. Overall we had an okay time."

  • "Good food and drinks at a moderate price. The decor was a little dark trying to mimick an Irish pub. We went on a whim around Saint Patrick's Day looking for a nice place to eat. Being from CA we were unsure, but we like to try new places. We would recommend The Thirsty Lion to anyone looking for a nice meal! There was a band playing that made the atmosphere even better."

  • "We arrived at 7:15 for a 7:30 reservation and were told we had to wait and couldn't be seated even though our table was sitting ready and empty. Service was extremely slow, not real friendly and the food was only fair. Disappointing for a group of 6. Luckily we were outside because the inside was so loud we wouldn't have been able to hear each other. However, the "outdoor dining" we read about was in a parking lot and we got to watch cars go by and listen to them idle."

  • "Went to this restaurant for a St. Patrick's Day celebration and it was great. Live music with fairly large bagpipe group in attendance. Great food and the service was excellent."

  • "Went to the Thirsty Lion Pub & Grill while on vacation in Phoenix/Tempe. Very nice staff greeted and sat us, and our server was very knowledgeable about their menu (We had a Gluten Free need at our table) and were given a special menu to order from. The food was great, and they had a beer (Papago Brewing Co's Orange Blossom) that I had heard was great (and boy was it not disappointing). I would come again if I'm ever in town, and wouldn't think twice about recommending them to others."

  • "I love this restaurant. I have been here 6 times and every time the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere has been absolutely superb. This restaurant even beats out several Las Vegas top pubs and restaurants. I recommend making reservations on open table on the weekends, its very busy."

  • "My husband and I met with my cousin and her husband - hadn't seen her in about 30 years. We sat at our table for 4 hours and received excellent, friendly service - and she never once made us feel like we had to leave. Very welcoming!"

  • "This is the first time I have been at this restaurant. The food and service was good. The inside was a bit dark and noisy so we ate outside. It was a nice afternoon."

  • "I am a very picky eater and tend to avoid trying new things, not because I don't like change but because typically that change ends up being bad. This restaurant was a rare and wonderful exception. I tried the lamb shank and it was wonderful, my fiance had the salmon risoto and also loved it. This place was great for valentines day and will be on our list for where to go for our next major outing."

  • "Pretty standard large mall restaurant anchor trying to channel a British Pub. Beer and ale selection is good, and plenty of burgers, but other than that, there is nothing pubbish about this place. Very loud inside with tons of TV screens and loud background music. Good hangout for young crowd, catering to locals and ASU students. Food just ok, service is rushed, but ok."

  • "Diverse menu. Not your normal "pub" menu. Great selection of beers and wine. Ahi tuna salad was large and fresh. Grilled Salmon with Asparagus Risotto was unique and tasty. Great service staff."

  • "I was very happy we made reservations on open table. When we arrived there were several people waiting to be seated. We arrived about 15 minutes early but we only waited a minute to be seated. I ordered the Southwest Smoked Chicken salad and my girlfriend ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. We both enjoyed our dishes, they were tasty. My friend ordered a Blueberry bliss to drink and it looked so refreshing that I plan to order one myself on my next visit. Our waitress was on point and took care of us.I'll be returning and next time with my husband and maybe some friends for a group date!"

  • "We love The Thirsty Lion because it brings together the best of all worlds: 50+ beers on tap, excellent menu, plenty of TVs for sporting events, just enough music to be fun but it will get turned up as the bar scene develops. One of our favorite places! P.S. try the NW Pub burger."

  • "Stopped by here for New Years Eve as it was close to our event for the evening. Food was very good. I had the NW Burger and it was very good. The bacon wrapped dates were outstanding. I'll definitely be back."

  • "Place was very large, lots of TVs, some 60 beers on tap and a large menu for this type place. There were six of us, everyone had something different for dinner and we all thought it very good. Delivery of beverages could have been faster, took maybe five minutes. Hint if really thirsty get the first one from the bar."

  • "We had some special friends over from Surprise to view Christmas Decorations / Lights at the Mesa LDS Temple. Then off to the Thirsty Lion for dinner at 8:45 PM. The atmosphere was wonderful / service friendly and prompt / and we were given a booth which was very comfortable.. My wife and I had eaten at the Thirsty Lion several times previously and that is why we chose it. Our friends were very impressed with the entire experience. We will definitely choose this eating establishment again! Thank You."

  • "Open table was a life saver! When we arrived it was a two hour wait for a table. Without open table I would never have enjoyed such a fun night! Great food everything was cooked perfectly and served quickly! The bacon wrapped dates were so delicious I'm making them at home for a Christmas party! Our server was perky and efficient. We never asked for anything twice. Except my margarita! They were so good I indulged with TWO! Nice work everyone."

  • "I was meeting a friend from out of town who was staying in Gilbert & I live in North Scottsdale thus this was exactly half way to meet. I chose it because the vast variety of food and was not disappointed. The specialty salads were fantastic as was the soup & I had the NW Burger which as to die for! The noise level was quite high with so many sports games being played on numerous televisions but then again, it was a Monday night. The servers were ok but nothing overboard as I had to wait for my wine for quite awhile.....the chardonnay listed in their website was unavailable which was a dissapointment. All in all for the location, variety and reasonably priced food I would recommend to friends & will revisit whenever in the area!"

  • "So walking in it was very busy, we waited 20 minutes past our reservation. It was very dark, and loud, very much like a pub, I just wish the tables had a little more light so food would be easier to see. I ordered a rosemary pear press which was very delicious. The pretzels were alright, nothing special, their burgers on the other hand were delightful! I think they have the best burgers I've ever had!"

  • "The old Board of Directors was reuniting for lunch so we had a lot to catch up on. The wait staff was right there when we needed them but gave us lots of time for reminiscing. Very pleasant staff, very efficient, thoughtful, and anticipated our every need. It made our reunion perfect!"

  • "This is one of our go to places. We always have great food and service when we come to The Lion, that is our nickname. We also love that we can depend on the games, football, basketball, etc. on the TV's, and you can see them from were ever you seat inside the restaurant."
