My husband and I met with my
cousin and her husband - hadn't seen her in about 30 years. We sat at our table for 4 hours and received excellent, friendly service - and she never once made us feel like we had to leave. Very welcoming!"

Came here for a date and was
satisfied by the delicious food and great atmosphere overall."

First time visit was great. Food
was good alone with outstanding service . My wife and I was able to talk and enjoy each other will dinning to appetizers . Btw had great happy hour pricing. Must make the trip again very soon."

This is the first time I have been
at this restaurant. The food and service was good. The inside was a bit dark and noisy so we ate outside. It was a nice afternoon."

I am a very picky eater and tend
to avoid trying new things, not because I don't like change but because typically that change ends up being bad. This restaurant was a rare and wonderful exception. I tried the lamb shank and it was wonderful, my fiance had the salmon risoto and also loved it. This place was great for valentines day and will be on our list for where to go for our next major outing."

Pretty standard large mall
restaurant anchor trying to channel a British Pub. Beer and ale selection is good, and plenty of burgers, but other than that, there is nothing pubbish about this place. Very loud inside with tons of TV screens and loud background music. Good hangout for young crowd, catering to locals and ASU students. Food just ok, service is rushed, but ok."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was amazing, but we spent
most of the night waiting for our waiter."
Dined on 2/14/2014
It is fun to sit outside. Like
their choice of burgers. Had an interesting starter, bacon wrapped stuffed dates."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Diverse menu. Not your normal
"pub" menu. Great selection of beers and wine. Ahi tuna salad was large and fresh. Grilled Salmon with Asparagus Risotto was unique and tasty. Great service staff."
Dined on 1/18/2014
I was very happy we made
reservations on open table. When we arrived there were several people waiting to be seated. We arrived about 15 minutes early but we only waited a minute to be seated. I ordered the Southwest Smoked Chicken salad and my girlfriend ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. We both enjoyed our dishes, they were tasty. My friend ordered a Blueberry bliss to drink and it looked so refreshing that I plan to order one myself on my next visit. Our waitress was on point and took care of us.I'll be returning and next time with my husband and maybe some friends for a group date!"

We love The Thirsty Lion because
it brings together the best of all worlds: 50+ beers on tap, excellent menu, plenty of TVs for sporting events, just enough music to be fun but it will get turned up as the bar scene develops. One of our favorite places! P.S. try the NW Pub burger."
Dined on 1/3/2014
Stopped by here for New Years Eve
as it was close to our event for the evening. Food was very good. I had the NW Burger and it was very good. The bacon wrapped dates were outstanding. I'll definitely be back."
Dined on 12/31/2013
Place was very large, lots of TVs,
some 60 beers on tap and a large menu for this type place. There were six of us, everyone had something different for dinner and we all thought it very good. Delivery of beverages could have been faster, took maybe five minutes. Hint if really thirsty get the first one from the bar."

We had some special friends over
from Surprise to view Christmas Decorations / Lights at the Mesa LDS Temple. Then off to the Thirsty Lion for dinner at 8:45 PM. The atmosphere was wonderful / service friendly and prompt / and we were given a booth which was very comfortable.. My wife and I had eaten at the Thirsty Lion several times previously and that is why we chose it. Our friends were very impressed with the entire experience. We will definitely choose this eating establishment again! Thank You."

Excellent food, great environment,
stellar service. I will definitely eat there again!"

Open table was a life saver! When
we arrived it was a two hour wait for a table. Without open table I would never have enjoyed such a fun night! Great food everything was cooked perfectly and served quickly! The bacon wrapped dates were so delicious I'm making them at home for a Christmas party! Our server was perky and efficient. We never asked for anything twice. Except my margarita! They were so good I indulged with TWO! Nice work everyone."

I was meeting a friend from out of
town who was staying in Gilbert & I live in North Scottsdale thus this was exactly half way to meet. I chose it because the vast variety of food and was not disappointed. The specialty salads were fantastic as was the soup & I had the NW Burger which as to die for! The noise level was quite high with so many sports games being played on numerous televisions but then again, it was a Monday night. The servers were ok but nothing overboard as I had to wait for my wine for quite awhile.....the chardonnay listed in their website was unavailable which was a dissapointment. All in all for the location, variety and reasonably priced food I would recommend to friends & will revisit whenever in the area!"

Wasn't great; wasn't bad; nothing
special; just average."
Dined on 12/15/2013
So walking in it was very busy, we
waited 20 minutes past our reservation. It was very dark, and loud, very much like a pub, I just wish the tables had a little more light so food would be easier to see. I ordered a rosemary pear press which was very delicious. The pretzels were alright, nothing special, their burgers on the other hand were delightful! I think they have the best burgers I've ever had!"
Dined on 12/14/2013
The old Board of Directors was
reuniting for lunch so we had a lot to catch up on. The wait staff was right there when we needed them but gave us lots of time for reminiscing. Very pleasant staff, very efficient, thoughtful, and anticipated our every need. It made our reunion perfect!"

This is one of our go to places.
We always have great food and service when we come to The Lion, that is our nickname. We also love that we can depend on the games, football, basketball, etc. on the TV's, and you can see them from were ever you seat inside the restaurant."

Enjoyed the bar and restaurant on
thursday. Fun place to hang out"

Group of eight had a wonderful
time dining on the patio. Vinny was a fantastic waiter!"

Food was great service was
horrible ! All of our meals came out about 20 mins before my 2 year olds meal. Sorry but the toddler should be fed first before anyone else ."
Dined on 11/17/2013
Staff was very nice and well
educated on their menu. A nice place for a casual dinner or a romantic date. Decor is unique. I visit this place often."

I have been to this restaurant
several times and over the weekend we decided to take some out of town friends. Knowing that this place is busy, we made reservations. Good thing we did. The place was packed and on a wait. We sat on the patio and had the best service in years. They even had a glass giveaway with Guiness and our out of state friend was super happy he received one. The food was awesome. How do they continue to provide such a great experience every single time we go there? Fabulous staff, friendly and accommodating. Thank you for doing a great job, every time! (we have made another reservation for this weekend)"

Our server Rebecca was fantastic!
She keep our party flowing and she was right on top of the food and drinks that everyone had ordered! She did a great job for our group celebrating my friend Lorrie's 50th birthday! Thank you!"

STEAK WAS A LITTLE OVER COOKED.
OVERALL FOOD WAS NOT BAD BUT NOT GREAT..... BEER SELECTION WAS GREAT."
Dined on 11/1/2013
great place to meet up with
friends and feel comfortable to visit for a while after finishing with the lunch. could have used a bit more attention to checking back on drinks though"
Dined on 10/18/2013
Great selection of draft beers and
good food. Noise level made it hard to talk to anyone who was not next to you."
Dined on 10/19/2013
California roll Sushi was
terrible. Tasted fishy and had bad consistency"
Dined on 9/11/2013
Went here on a date, was not
disappointed. Food was awesome and moderately priced. Every employee from the hostess to server to waitress was friendly. Great value, tastes more expensive than it is. Will be coming back 5/5."
Dined on 8/28/2013
The atmosphere was low key
allowing us time to chit chat. Wait staff was amazing, prompt, and friendly! Loved the big screens with music videos, some of which stretched all the way back to the 80's!"
Dined on 7/30/2013
It was a wonderful dining
experience and the food was wonderful except for the tri-tips my husband ordered. The song was too salty and the volume of sauce was too great."
Dined on 7/28/2013
We went on a Tuesday night as a
family dinner night selection - all adults - Guinness on tap was the deciding factor to go (Dad's favorite). Service was great - the food was too. We sat in the dining area - a little loud for the older folks, but not overly to the point we couldnt have a conversation. Mom ordered onion rings for the table - yum! Three of us had burgers which were outstanding (Tavern Burger was recommended by server and was wonderful!), mom & dad shared the steak tips and still had leftovers. Overall great experience and we most definately will come again!"
Dined on 7/24/2013
I ordered the chipotle mac and
cheese but because the mac and cheese's sauce was thin and a had consistency and flavor that seemed to suggest powdered cheese had been included, I opted to return the dish and order the bacon-wrapped prawns (they were more like shrimp, not prawns) and bacon cheddar potato cakes. My friend enjoyed her salmon and mashed potatoes, but when I tasted the potatoes, they seemed to have an instant taste to them. My potato cakes were likely made from the same batch and tasted quite good, but I saw/tasted no sign of bacon. I might return for the potato cakes and so my husband can try the fish tacos. This was my first visit, and it was somewhat of a hit or miss experience, so I'll give it another chance."

Met a friend for lunch here and
the food was good, great selection for lunch and the servings were generous. Service was attentive but not obnoxious and since it was lunch it was nice the they get you in and out. Can't wait to meet friends for lunch again"

Table for four at 7:45PM. We
decided to check out Thirsty Lion after seeing the chef on a segment of Sonoran Living. The beer selection was great. We tried the soft pretzel appetizer and thought the dip was so so. The beer cheese soup was excellent and we would recommend that they use the soup as the dip for the pretzel. We had burgers and ribs for dinner. The french fries were fresh cut and cooked perfectly. Cons: The music was so loud we had to yell at each other across the table. We probably would have stayed and had another drink after dinner - but we couldn't hear one another so we decided to split after dinner. Our waitress also acted like a snob. Maybe we till try an earlier reservation next time."
Dined on 7/21/2013
Their Happy Hour is Awesome! Great
drink specials and the appetizers are enough to fill you up! Pulled pork sliders, pub chip nacho's and potato cakes are at the top of our list! Both food and drinks are always delicious."
Dined on 7/4/2013
The food was awesome, lots of
choices! 5 of us had 5 different things and everything was excellent. We really liked how the wait staff worked as a team. Even though we only had one designated server, there were a lot of other servers coming to our table in a very organized fashion. We had 2 servers offer to take our drinks, and everyone was super friendly and the timing was great. Only food item that we didn't care for was the calamari. They were rubbery."
