About:

theMINT: envisioned in the past, resurrected by opportunity, executed by experience, enriched by community, growing through innovation

What We Do:

Gastropub refers to a bar and restaurant that serves high-end beer and food.[1]

The term gastropub, a portmanteau of gastronomy and pub, originated in England in the late 20th century. English pubs were drinking establishments and had little emphasis placed on the serving of food. Then that all changed. theMINT is an AMERICAN Gastropub that focuses on premium food and beer as well as premium spirits, cocktails, and martinis.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Reservation at 6:30 on a Friday evening. Ordered at 6:40. Food did not arrive until 7:20 40 minutes for a ticket time when you order a lobster roll is insane!"

  • "Loved the food and service. But you should update your menus because it's difficult to choose from verbal menu. Many items were changed, non available, our waitress was telling us the changes."

  • "Enjoyed our dinner. Service was excellent. Dining experience more suitable for a younger crowd. Noise level was too up there for my older lady get together. We had trouble conversing. I would def go back again. Just not a place to go if you are planning a serious dicussion."

  • "The evening was enjoyed by myself and family members. However three had ordered the Lobster Mac and one Bacon/Chipotle Mac which we all love only it wasn't heated the way we have enjoyed it before, it was only warm. Every one enjoyed there meal and desert including myself. The flavor was good on my Brisket sandwich only the meat was a little dry. Some Au jus would have added another dimension and taken care of the dryness. We've been there before and will continue to dine there. Great beer list and distinctive menu. Thanks"

  • "The food was of quality & intersting enough, however service was something to be desired. One of us ordered salad & 2 apps (hot & cold) instead of an entree; all of them were brought out at the same time. We had to remind 2 servers to bring out 1 of the salads 3 times before the burger; it came 10 minutes afterward. It took too long to get a 2nd beverage & we had to ask; no one paid enough attention to offer a refill. The decor was tacky & had a diner feel. Too many kids. Lighting was poor. Noise level too loud to enjoy conversation. Tables on top of each other; we experienced a very loud talker for the 2nd half of our meal and couldn't hear each other. Probably better for lunch with a goup. Not a good date night place; I'll pass."

  • "It helps that theMint is walking distance from my house, but that just means I can have more than one of their fantastic cocktails. Their draft list is always fun and full of variety and I've never had anything bad from their menu. It's one of my favorite restaurants in town which is really saying something considering the number of restaurants in the area."

  • "Recently my husband and I dined at The Mint. We'd been here multiple times before and always had great service and great food. This time was a game-changer for us. Many problems with our server. Crazy long wait times for drinks, service, food. Our server seemed to be elsewhere. My cocktail was wrong. Took ages till the server came back to us. Other tables who came in after us were already being served food/drinks well before we ordered. They had a different server who was very attentive. So many issues with this visit, we checked it off our list. There are so many great new restaurants in the valley. No need to put up with this kind of poor service. Sad to say the food wasn't even good."

  • "As always great time at the mint! We love this restaurant for the food and of course the great beer list. Service is always great. Always reliable."

  • "Food and service was great! Two kinds of macs and duck fries doesn't get any better than that. Great martini list and of course beer!"

  • "We had such a great night out here! We brought our Canadian friends who were in town, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the amazing beer selection and delicious grub. We will DEFinitely be back. The service was outstanding - very knowledgable about the beer, and quick to give us tastes of things when asked for. We had a lot of fun and all the food was ace. Can't wait to go back! Our only critique would be the atmosphere - in part it's an awesome looking place, but the television were distracting and disturbing to what could otherwise be a perfect ambience. The "sports bar" feel at the bar was out of place, and I'd seriously consider removing them to give the place more of the hip-beer-gastropub vibe! :)"

  • "Neat concept for a restaurant, just needs some polishing to make it a real gem. Outside dining was nice, but please trim down the weeds at your entrance. It sets the tone for what the dining experience will be like. Menu was varied and nice but not clear. The restaurant offers a different take on "comfort foods" which is fine BUT, the customer should not be surprised/disappointed when their food comes out. If food is extremely spicy please label it as a spicy entree. My entree had so much hot sauce on it that I could not eat it. It completely destroyed the dish that otherwise would have been great. The Fish and Chips was fantastic. The scallops were very nice also, just a little salty. Our waiter was great."

  • "The ambience, food, drinks and service are perfect. I've never had a less than memorable experience at the Mint. The Maryland crab Mac N Cheese is to die for and the baby back ribs melt in your mouth. An absolute must for the foodies!"

  • "We've been going here since it opened. The menu is always a suprise. Seasonal ingredients make dining here a wonderful event. The beer and cocktail lists are extensive, and it will take you many visits to find your fav. My new summer drink, the gin smasher. Our most recent trip was with family and friends to celebrate my daughters 21st. Her choice of restaurant. We're never disapointed."

  • "we had a really good time, starting with the beer and cocktail list. Appetizers were excellent. Oysters outstanding. All our dinners were fabulous. We actually did not want to leave. And our bill was reasonable for all the good stuff we consumed. We'll definitely be back."

  • "The gluten free offerings are great. Service and food was wonderful. I loved gluten free mac & cheese and my husband said the duck was delicious. We'll be back, again and again. My husband appreciates the beer selections."

  • "When my son in Philadelphia asked me if I'd heard of The Mint, I said "no, is it new?" Answer turned out to be no; it has been there three years. After one visit, I am so sorry I didn't know about it three years ago! The food was absolutely amazing--from the duck confit fries and cheese board to the applebutter bread pudding and each course in between. We sampled the spicy lobster roll, the Weyerbacher fish and chips, and the spring pea tortellini among our table. All were unique, flavorful and equally delicious. our dining experience was further enhanced by the excellent service and interaction with our server, Drew. Can't wait to return to try their other offerings."

  • "This was my second visit to The Mint and it was another enjoyable time. The Rye of the Tiger IPA was surprisingly easy to drink for a hoppier IPA. The lobster rangolls were delicious and the cream cheese filling worked surprisingly well. We had lighter finger food fare for dinner. The chicken and donuts were OK. The chicken and spicy sauce were great but the donuts were an odd pairing with a not so savory icing. Dessert was the liquid cheesecake and was definitely a great ending to a great night out. "

  • "Converted bank restaurant with well done interior - art deco. We started with mac and cheese. They had 8 kinds. We shared chipolte which was tasty and very cheesy. Portion size a bit small for the price. Chix and donuts with blue cheese dressing was a unique and surprisingly tasty combo. Fish and chips were generous and very good with curry catsup and sauce. Lobster roll was small but spicy and delicious. Dessert was small but tasty. One too small to share."

  • "food was good, but they are overpriced for the size of the portions"

  • "Interesting menu, appealing concept, great atmosphere, quality service. Beer list is extensive. Food quality just ok. Lobster rangolls were very good. MD crab mac was ok- flavors were not appealing- bay seasoning just doesn't go well with pasta. Ribs were tender but lacked flavor, not sure what the duck fat added besides a menu eye catcher and fat. Side with the ribs were very good. Alot of folks were ordering scallops- which did look tasty. Overall my wife and I enjoyed the evening out- will try again and order different food. Also gluten free friendly. "

  • "The food tasted great but the portion size is extra small for the price. Close quarters so you can listen to the table next to yours without trying. Somehow the beer tap wasnt working and the menu wasnt right either as the waitress made 4 corrections. I went for a special occasion and my wife and I left a little dissapointed. I wouldn't go back myself unless someone else really wanted to go. "

  • "The food, mixed drinks and beer were all amazing and we will definitely be coming back. We were a group of 5 and all of us loved our food!"

  • "This place is noisy, but the food is great. Very unusual twists on normal food. We had short ribs, mussels/frite, baby back ribs, fish and chips, and lamb chops. All sound pretty usual fare, but trust me, you will be surprised how good it is. If you like beer, you will also be amazed by the 100's on the list! I'll be back."

  • "The food was good, the service was very good. Over all it is a neighborhood gem, the bar does attract a younger jet set which made for a noisy atmosphere. Great place to have a lunch. The hamburgers were of a large size with the toppings and looked delicious. I had a sausage board for a starter, and it was very good. My wife order oysters as a starter, I tried one and they were so tender a melt in your mouth. Her main entree was the scallops and she enjoyed them very much. Overall a nice restaurant. The mint the perfect name for a former bank building. Everyones opinion counts, for a make it or break it. I think it is a make it. "

  • "We went to Mint with friends, it was our second time here. The food was terrific, but don't plan on watching your cholesterol or anything like that. I had a pork belly sandwich that was really terrific. Someone else ordered the special that was a pulled pork with crispy chicken skin -- again, not a diet meal but a superb one. The lobster mac and cheese looked great, one of our tablemates ordered it and I could see big pieces of lobster sticking out of the pasta. The last order was a patty melt and although it was fairly messy to handle, got great reviews from the person who ordered it. The drink menu is very good and our server was attentive."

  • "Back for a third time -- time our son who was visiting over Easter. Service was great (as usual). Love the food, it's always great. I went with the lamb this time while my wife had the scallops. The lamb was the best I've had anywhere. Tried a cocktail this time, will hit the the beer list (again) next time "

  • "Service was very friendly, every "extra" was attended to promptly. The drinks were STRONG! Apps. were delivered fast; hot and decent sized. The turtle soup (with a 60 minute egg added) was amazing. I've never had it before, but if this is how turtle soup usually is, it's a new favorite. The shrimp & grits was quite spicy, but the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The liquid cheesecake was an outstanding, delicious dessert. And the coffee, in great big mugs, was strong & hot (I hate lukewarm coffee in little cups!). Dinner wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. the Mint is a great place for a special occasion."

  • "This was my first experience at The Mint. The menu was impressive with something for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of my dish. We had great service from Drew who was both attentive and informative. It was a bit difficult to hear some of the dinner conversation because of the noise level but it would not deter me from returning. I really enjoyed dining here!!!"

  • "I've eaten at The Mint several times now (weekdays) and have had a consistently excellent experience. The service is really top notch; knowledgeable and considerate. The menu has several interesting choices and will appeal to the foodies. Really, something for every taste. Especially if your tastes runs to the savory. The beer, wine and cocktail list is long and excellent. There's a full PAGE just of IPAs. Mid-Century Modern décor and a terrific music system; great selections, perfect volume, round out the experience. Oh, yeah, you can eat at a table just outside of the vault...The Mint used to be a bank."
