Diner Reviews
  • "We went because of this special event. Food was great and we will look forward to this event the next time it is offered. It was a prie-fixe menu at $35 with two choices each of appetizer, main course, and dessert. Naturally, we chose one of each. It was quite enjoyable. There is a nice ourdoor dining area facinf High Street--we did not choose it this time because the weather was slighty sticky."

  • "Had a wonderful experience sitting out on the porch with friends visiting from fla. Had the walleye and will be back soon for a repeat"

  • "This was our first visit after a long absence from the Columbus area. Prior to our move we were always fond of the quality and creative food at Worthington Inn. What a disappointing to encounter a place which was a shadow of its former glory. Food and service were mediocre, the interior of the restaurant seems to be in urgent need of updating. The only item in line with its former reputation were the prices on the menu. Fortunately, there are many other places in the Columbus area which maintained their high quality level over time and others which joint them during recent years."

  • "Everything for the dinner was great, but the dessert was a giant disappointment. I recommend passing on their dessert and going to get ice cream across the street at Graeters!"

  • "Great service and food. The whole experience was wonderful and all of the staff members were welcoming and attentive."

  • "Food at Worthington Inn was excellent. The Vegetable Plate had a nice variety of choices and seasonings. Their version of a calamari appetizer is superb. Just the right amount of asian slaw mixed with the calamari. Though the restaurant was not crowded, service was below par. For example, we had to asked for the bread basket."

  • "Our server was polished, perfectly mannered, and presentation was awesome! The Worthington Inn ambiance is exactly what one wants when desiring a 'period piece' setting... great historical Inn. The wine list is outstanding... I had the Allamand Malbec which was great with my filet. I am very sensitive to MSG and I wonder if any of my food contained it. None the less, the food tasted great."

  • "Great atmosphere with a very attentive staff. Food was excellent. Recommend the Beef Worthington with a unique twist on Au Gratin Potatoes. Long time Worthington resident but only my second time there. We will be back."

  • "Good foodie quality menu with local greens when possible. Service staff were each lackadaisical--- have seen better service at an Olive Garden. Long delays for each course and even drinks. Hope the owners read this review, service should be consistent. Shane the food was good."

  • "Lovely, elegant, refined. Good food and service. Quiet so conversation is easy. Will come when we're in the Columbus area again."

  • "A great place for brunch. Good breakfast/lunch selection. Very kid friendly but also good for couples wanting quiet (there are a lot of different rooms + outdoor seating)."

  • "I ordered the special since it sounded wonderful and I have never had a bad food item here. The red snapper from Hawaii with ginger and coconut sounded irresistable. The folks at the next table had a piece that was large enough to share. My fish was overcooked to bouncy and tough and chewy, no flavor, large gray chunks and very small. The waitress never returned to ask how everything was. My bill was over $100 - so one would expect to have professionally grilled fish that is at least edible. Disappointing."

  • "Had a weekend without the kids so my husband and I decided to try brunch at the Worthington Inn. Our reservation was for 12:30. We arrived at the front door and waited several minutes before being approached. They took us to a small table, but we asked to have a larger one. None of the other tables were set yet (there were plenty available) so we waited another 5 minutes or so before one was ready. The brunch menu was a served menu, and there were many options for breakfast, much fewer lunch items. My husband got the crab benedict, I had the steak. Service was OK, a bit slow, only got one refill on beverages. Food was good. Would have liked to have more lunch options. Overall, a good meal, not sure I would rush back."

  • "We really enjoyed the Friday night specials (Bone in Ribeye was fabulous). Fun to listen to the music too after dinner in the Pub."

  • "The brunch menu at Worthington Inn was very nice --- lots of choices including breakfast/brunch items, salads, sandwiches and other platters. I was concerned about parking because of the Worthington Farmer's Market, but it was over by noon, so if you go a little later, parking isn't a problem."

  • "We dined here on a stormy night with tornado sirens for background music but still had a wonderful dinner in a quiet, peaceful ambience with outstanding food and wine. Our server was well-informed and helpful, attentive but not overly so. All in all, a memorable experience."

  • "Beware that this is an old Inn and doesn't have handicap access to the dining area. The Inn should figure out a way to improve entrance for people in wheel chairs and walkers."

  • "Worthington Inn is a wonderful dinning experience whether it is for a special evening or a gathering of old friends. The old Inn gives the experience that few other locales can offer. "

  • "The ONLY reason we selected this restaurant was because of the Sunday Brunch buffet. We mad our reservation in early April for brunch on Sunday, May 4. Upon our arrival, we noticed a sign indicating that as of April 27, they were no longer offering the Sunday brunch buffet. They did offer a regular menu, but it was fairly limited and certainly not a buffet - where we could choose to sample many different items. The meals we did have were good, but nothing spectacular - if you have a big appetite please know the crabs benedict is a small portion."

  • "The restaurant is absolutely adorable and in character with old Worthington's classic style. The portions were large and the food was so fresh and delicious. Overall I would recommend it for a special occasion!"

  • "We came for a birthday lunch. Food was excellent. I think there is a new chef. The service was disappointing. The Opentable reservation was not recognized so we had no idea if we would get points. Nothing was said about my birthday even when I mentioned it."

  • "Took a client for lunch. Although the food was great it seemed like there needed to be one more server on t assist with the large party that was there. Our server would disappear from time to time and wondered if she forgot about us."

  • "In the past this has been a classy restaurant with excellent food, most of it uniquely interpreted. Lately it's turned into a boisterous place with live music (some great, some Holiday Inn Lounge) and so-so plates. Nothing very special on the menu this time, and the filets tasted like liver. Still a great place to get a cocktail."

  • "The Worthington Inn NEVER disappoints. I love the menu options that focus on local sourcing, the wine list is spectacular and the service is always polite and not intrusive. Yes, it is not an inexpensive place to eat, but you definitely get what you are paying for-from the food, the wine offerings, the service, and the overall ambiance of the meal. A great place to take anyone for a nice lunch or dinner. They also have a great happy hour and live music Wednesday and Friday. I would highly recommend!"

  • "We had a wonderful dinner on a quiet Monday evening. From first course to dessert the food was outstanding and prepared with such care. They also took special care of my peanut allergy which was greatly appreciated. The menu changes with the seasons so you can always expected fresh quality local ingredients which is one reason why it's top notch!"

  • "Would have preferred eating in the pub area, which was totally packed for Happy Hour. Dining rooms were fairly empty at 6:30 pm. Our server was excellent and attentive, however the food was very disappointing. Tasteless bread served with a whipped spread that did not look or taste like butter. Due to other rave reviews, we both ordered the Beef Worthington which was presented nicely and the potato and spinach were quite good. The two tiny filets of beef on my plate were so tough I kept looking to see if I was cutting across the grain and I was. Ended up taking 1/2 of each home in a box. Sliced it up for a treat for my 3 Bearded Collies & they wouldn't eat it either... just tossed it around in the air and left it. Kind of makes you wonder!"

  • "I wish I could love this restaurant! I want to love it!!! The food is excellent, the location is perfect, but the kitchen and staff just can't get it together?!? I live close by and go there frequently, and this restaurant is just so inconsistent. My last visit was on a slow night, maybe 4 other tables were occupied, and our food took so long. I've had some of my best meals at restaurants when there were only a few other diners. Why did it take so long? What was the kitchen doing???? Other times I've ate at the Inn and our server basically abandoned us...I had to walk around and search for him! Pull it together"

  • "This is supposed to be one of the top restaurants in Columbus, but I don't understand why. For the price, the food was not that great. It was good, but I would have expected more considering the hype. Our server was very good and knowledgeable regarding the menu. I can't see myself returning unless I try the pub. I know of other restaurants in the Columbus area that serve better food in the same price range."

  • "When you walk in you feel as if though you have been whisked back in time to a beautiful and elegant dining establishment. Everything from the wallpaper to the linen covered tables invited you to participate in a wonderous journey. Hand craved peices of furniture, sconces on the walls and small oil lamps on the tables all spoke to your inner soul. We loved it and will definitely take the journey again. The meal was an experience in quality and taste. Excellent !"

  • "Personally, I didn't like the food. The goat's cheese salad was nothing especial, neither were the apetizers (lamb rack and grill mix), all drawn in sauce. The best was the wine. Pretty expensive. Service was right, but not amazing. I am Spanish an my taste criteria may be slightly different to americans, but I frankly think this is not worth the price."

  • "Two words: BEEF WORTHINGTON. This dish is over the top: petit filet mignon, potato gratin, sautéed spinach, Point Reyes blue cheese, mushroom-cabernet demi. We generally avoid beef just because great chefs can make so many other things that are typically unavailable elsewhere (or at home). This item fits that category including the potato and spinach. You'll leave wanting to have licked the plate! To put the place in perspective, we drive from Cleveland (home of many great restaurants) to dine at The Worthington Inn. Service is always good and the prices are reasonable for the setting and food."

  • "Very nice environment with great service. The steak was excellent, although other food items were a bit on the sweet side for my family but still delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or just anytime if you don't mind the spicy prices."
