The Wooden TableFinally found a neighborhood gem!We really loved the Wooden Table! We had tried another great ace down the road, but were seated so close to another couple we felt almost rude not engaging them in conversation!
Not here, our table was a nice distance from our neighbor. . The food was wonderful. I recommend the mussels for an appetizer. My husband ordered gnocchi and that was fantastic! I also recommend scallops. Nothing we had here wasn't extraordinary.
Service was so good, it was almost too much. our new favorite 'special occasion' place to eat6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be backWe reserved a table for Father's Day and were seated as soon as we arrived. Our waiter Brad was knowledgeable and engaging. The food was very good: flavorful and seasonal. The noise level was a little high, but I put that down to the cement floors. The other diners seemed to be having as good a time as we were.
Highly recommend the gnocchi and the duck.
We will definitely be back. Wooden Table is a treasure in the Southglenn neighborhood.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mussels, salad, pastas,Great mussels, salad, pastas, house-made sausage and wonderful sea scallops (we had leftovers). It's not inexpensive, but it's a wonderful value. I've paid twice as much for less quality.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCloseIt just missed being a great experience. While some of the food was outstanding, other parts were disappointing. One of the dishes wasn't hot, albeit very tasty. The guest attire ranged from cargo shorts and rope sandals to evening dresses. Early in the evening the service was over-zealous and petered out to nonexistent. We will give it another shot for sure.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGary, the maitre d is friendlyGary, the maitre d is friendly and knowledgeable. Jordan our waiter was right on top of things. His knowledge of the wine list got us a pefect selection for our dinner. My wife had the manila clams and sausage. An outstanding dish. I had the monkfish and it was the best preparation of this fish that I have ever had. We shared a wonderful chocolate pot de creme to complete a charming and wondeful evening. The Wooden Table is a south town gem.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about the eveningEverything about the evening was terrific. Only comment is that the room is very loud.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMsuperior in every way. thesuperior in every way. the best gnocchi and pasta anywhere. a remarkable find6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Neighborhood Italian GemIt was a great evening! We grabbed the last bottle of a moderately priced, but great wine. The lamb carpaccio salad and my sweetbreads were both taste treats. The main course of homemade gnocchi with veal shoulder and the my wife's duck were both expertly prepared. Wait staff was extremely friendly. The only downside was the large and rather loud party seated in the middle of the restaurant.
We're looking forward to our next trip to this outstanding eatery.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have again enjoyed theirWe have again enjoyed their great food beginning as we always do wi their mussel appetizer. For a Wednesday the resturt was very busy which translated into overwhelming noise. This as well as our service was sporadic left us a little disappointedwith the evening. The noise levels will begin to impact their business if not addressed.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFun time for our groupOur group of 9 met at the Wooden Table for a going away party. It was a good fit for all of us. Eight of us enjoyed wine and drinks with one having iced tea. One person had just a large salad. Most enjoyed large pasta dishes with two of us ordering salad and a main. Everything was very good with the duck being "over the top" wonderful. Service was spot on.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA New FavoriteAmazing food and great service. Can't wait to go back so we can try everything on the menu.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable!I took my husband here for his birthday. It is right around the corner from our home and I had heard lovely things about it. We had a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent. Although, it is Italian cuisine...it is not typical of what you would expect to find. Everything we ate was phenomenal. Our waiter (Jordan) was very pleasant as well as knowledgeable. We cannot wait to go back and try something different off the menu. I highly recommend this place.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu to die forExcellent, creative menu and over the top delicious offerings!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW! What Food...This was our 5th or 6th time at the Wooden Table and we live 35 or more miles away. Many times when we are "in town" we try to arrange a dinner there just for the food. Our table had four different entrees; the lobster with linguine was deemed " excellent", the monkfish with scallops and sea urchin was "fantastic", the beef tenderloin was cooked to "perfection', the veal cheeks were " moist and tender". Everyone loved the Proscuitto de Parma salad. The grapefruit sets this salad apart from the ordinary.
Good wine, great service, wonderful company and "WOW, what food" makes for a great combination!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and nice intimateDelicious food and nice intimate interior. Don't let the location stop you from trying it out!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive, but deliciousThe hand-made pasta and attentive service make the prices mostly reasonable. Location probably has something to do with it as well, being tucked in Cherry Hills Village. We would go back if it was a special occasion.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI've had only dinner hereI've had only dinner here so far, but hope to return soon. It's a comfortable ambiance and deliciously dependable food.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Flawless ServiceThis is one of those neighborhood restaurants that make you think Denver is really trying to be a grown up food town. We loved it and won't hesitate to go back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent but priceyFood was truly outstanding! My duck was cooked to perfection - non-greasy. Excellent wine list - great variety and relatively affordable in relation to their food prices. Entrees were priced somewhat high and long wait between courses (kitchen, not service, and honestly we didn't care but beware). Definitely a great place for special occasions, especially if you want to stay in the south metro area.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGo on Mondays!Half price bottles of wine for all bottles under $100 every Monday night. Consistently excellent food and service. Menu changes with the seasons. Love this place.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMStrip Mall GemWe love love love this place. Housemade pasta is amazing and so is the fried oyster mushroom salad. Have been at least 8 times now and it never disappoints. Nice to not have to drive downtown every time we want a "fancy" meal. The view is of the TJ Max across the strip mall but who really cares when the food and scene are perfect!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great EveningIf it is a special evening to entertain special gests or a special evening with a special someoe. this is the place to be. Wonderful food, great service. Should be on your resturant "bucket" list.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHighley recommend. Food isHighley recommend. Food is wonderful and service outstanding.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been to the Wooden TableWe've been to the Wooden Table several times and always thought the food was incredible. But this time was even better. It's rare to find gnocchi in the US that are really good and appropriately light, but the gnocchi on the spring menu at the Wooden Table were spectacular.(I grew up in an Italian family and ate gnocchi regularly. I've also sampled gnocchi all over Italy so I have lots of experience. My family calls me the "gnocchi queen"!). I also had the veal cheeks which were melt in your mouth tender and tasty. The brodo (broth) in both the gnocchi dish and the veal cheeks was especially delicious, with wonderful flavors and not too much salt. We will definitely be back again soon.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Wooden Table is an amazingThe Wooden Table is an amazing fine for us. The food is wonderful and we definately have some favorites. This was our fifth visit to TWT and we were not disapointed. TWT was a bit noisier than we are use to; however, I believe it may have been due to the city wide fundraise which we take part in each year.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood HeavenYou just can not believe how outstanding the Italian food is here. All the pasta is handmade in the kitchen and the food fresh with brilliant combinations of taste treats. All in my group demanded more bread so that we could sop-up the sauces on our plates. It has been a long time since everyone at the table was freely sharing bites with one another to decide which of the fantastic dishes was better than the next. It was not a fancy atmosphere but rather relaxed and comfortable. The servers were prompt and knowledgeable on the dishes and wine. I loved this place and will be back many times to come.
I will have a tough decision on which I want next time, they truly were all amazing!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstandingJordan was our server and did a fantastic job; he remembered and used our first names throughout the night, politely checked in us and made sure we were always satisfied, and replaced missing silverware after I would leave it on a dish that was taken away... HUGE bonus. Food was wonderful, too!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!!! A great placeLoved it!!! A great place hidden between all of the chains. The food was outstanding!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMYou are made to fee so welcomeYou are made to fee so welcome and appreciated. I'd eat at their Table anytime!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place. Welcoming staff,Nice place. Welcoming staff, great food. Recommended.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI recommended the Wooden TableI recommended the Wooden Table to our monthly lunch group; we visit a different restaurant each month. I was the only one that had been there before, all the women really loved it and their lunch choices! The steak salad got rave reviews.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was absolutely devine! The food was absolutely devine! High quality and cooked to perfection. Very nice wine list too. I will return with more friends!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMRare gen in the suburbsI am really not one to give a 5 star review unless it goes well beyond expectations. All the food was great and well prepared. The flavors were bright and wonderful. Overall a great place for special occasion and a rare gem in suburbs.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFourth visit to Wooden TableFourth visit to Wooden Table and again it was excellent!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food & service. Hostess, eh.First time for dinner. We had a very nice evening and the food was top notch. We split a gnocchi and had the veal cheeks and monkfish for entrees. Apparently Monday night is half price wine night when you buy two full entrees so that was a nice surprise.
A couple minor negatives in regard to the hostess. When we walked in she called us "guys". I really, really dislike that. She seated us at a table for four. After my wife sat, I sat down next to her. Then the hostess questioned my choice! Are you sure you want to sit there?
I like siting next to my wife so we can talk quietly. Apparently the hostess thought I should sit across. Good grief! Hopefully the owner will give her some lessons in hospitality.
But we will return.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Wooden Table is a greatThe Wooden Table is a great place to unwind after a long day. The ambiance was good but not so cosy to be a romantic place. The staff were relaxed, very friendly and were knowledgeable about the menu. Two of us split an appetizer (chicken liver mousse), salad (arugula), pasta (linguinie w/ pork belly - yum!) and entree (monkfish) - and had plenty to take home too. The food was amazing and prepared with a deft touch - no one flavor overpowered the others, and the portion sizes were perfect. Definitley coming back.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh Quality MealExcellent food and high quality service. We went for our anniversary and the vibe was very low-key on a Tuesday night. nice wine list and drinks, and the manager treated us to dessert on the house in honor of our anniversary. A very nice experience; we will go back.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTutto bene! The menu reflects an Italian respect for the freshest ingredients with an American flair for creative presentation. Our favorite appetizer is the mussels (perfectly balanced broth with saffron and fennel highlighted with delicious meatballs and fragrant toast), although the mozzarella, eggplant, and sweetbreads were excellent starters. The red sauce has impressive depth and subtle layers of seasoning. There are no bad choices with the pasta dishes, but committed carnivores will devour the roasted pork bellies on linguine. The homemade sausage is complemented by a crispy polenta, chicken cacciatore and sauteed vegetables. Box up half your primi and secondi to save room for heavenly housemade desserts (especially the gelato).3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit but definitelyFirst visit but definitely not the last. Wonderful presentation, good selection of wines, knowledgable staff, and warm ambience. The wife had the duck breast and I had the veal cheeks and both of us would recommend our dishes.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood placeThe fact that Wooden Table is tucked into a shopping center, makes the inside even more appealing. A real "neighborhood" feel. There were so many good choices on the menu, it was hard to decide, but I settled on the sausage, and my husband, that homemade ravioli. Both dishes were fantastic. They took a while to prepare, but we were told ahead of time that each dish was made to order. Our spinach salads were good as well. The waiter was pleasant, knowledgeable, and did his job well. My only "complaint" might be that the monk fish was substituted with some other fish that was not remotely like monk fish. So-no one at our table ordered it. All in all a very nice dining experience.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at the Wooden Table and we totally enjoyed it. We look forward to coming back and trying a different dish because what our friends ordered also smelled and looked great.
Thanks!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific experience! LikeTerrific experience! Like Denver without the downtown!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHands down, one of the bestHands down, one of the best Italian restaurants in Denver metro. Homemade mozzarella panzanella salad appetizer was divine; Potato Gnocchi with lamb shoulder confit was perfection!! Very nice wine selection. Book a reservation. You will not be disappoointed!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAn impressive mix of a creativelyAn impressive mix of a creatively American approach to authentically Italian dishes, highlighting seasonally fresh ingredients with well-balanced spices. Service was attentive but not smothering, and an interesting assortment of apetizers and wines complemented excellent entrees. Top-notch quality from the olive oil to the vin santo. Downtown standards without the commute...our new favorite!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA Hidden Gem in Greenwood VillageExcellent varied menu. Food prepared beautifully. Excellent friendly efficient service. All in all, an excellent experience. My two grandchldren, ages 7 and 4 were with us, and the staff treated them very well. They loved the ravioli.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFOOD WAS EXCELLENT! SERVICEFOOD WAS EXCELLENT! SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT! What can I say, it doesn't get much better than the Wooden Table for dinner. What it lacks in ambiance, the food and service more than makes up for it.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDespite the unusual stripDespite the unusual strip mall location, The Wooden Table was excellent. I'm a big fan of mussels, tried me everywhere, and these were fantastic! The wine, butter, sausage and saffron broth was amazing. The waiter jokingly suggested we might need a straw and by then end of the bowl, a straw is exactly what I wish I had to finishe the broth! I also enjoyed the tortellini with spinach, sausage and Romano. The flavors were delicious and creamy. I was thankful they had the option for two different sized dishes and I chose the smaller plate with 6 tortellini which was perfect after all the mussels. I felt perfectly full and not stuffed. The restaurant also has some fun cocktails. I especially enjoyed the sage lemon drop! I'll be back!!!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBig thumbs up!!! Our friendsBig thumbs up!!! Our friends wanted to dine here during 5280 restaurant week. I have to say I was skeptical until the food came and wow was I pleasantly surprised! Everything we ordered was so outstanding, not just good, outstanding! They had a very limited menu, so we were able to try everything and it was all just amazing. Definitely fit for foodies and we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant in the southern suburbs. I can't wait to go back and check out their regular menu. This will be our new "go to" place for sure!2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the food but they needLoved the food but they need to change their menu more often to keep interest in the place. They do not have nightly specials.2/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was great,The food and service was great, it was way too loud.1/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
