We've been here for happy hour, midday snack and dinner with a small group...they never disappoint. It's fun to share flights of wine and the $9 flight special on Tuesday was terrific! My rockfish dish was incredible---fresh, stacked with artisan veggies. My boyfriend's french dip burger was amazing--he would order that again and again! Cheese plate was small, but tasty artisan cheeses and spreads. Highly recommend hanging out around the fireplace in advance of dinner and sipping some fine wine.

The Wine Kitchen is located on the Carroll Creek Linear Park. It is a beautiful setting anytime of the year. during the warmer months there is outdoor dining. Now that it is November we elected to dine inside the restaurant. The wine selections are superb. I choose a flight of Pinot noir composed of two domestic (CA & OR) and one Chilean wine. all three were wonderful but I choose the Pinot noir from Oregon for a second glass. While the roasted wild pheasant special was not available when we dined I did opt for the filet of beef topped with garlic butter, This was one of the best steaks I've had for some time. The meal was finished with a wonderful seasonal pear cobbler and a class of Graham's Port. A wonderful finish to a wonderful meal...

My wife and I have been to Wine Kitchen a few times now, and it never disappoints. It's been at lest a year since our last visit, and I'd say that the food, service, and wine has actually improved. The pork charcuterie was something I've never tried before, but it was awesome. I ordered the Short Rib for my entrée, which was also delicious. It seemed to have dried out a little bit, so I'd maybe advise the restaurant not to cook it as long, but overall, it was a great meal. We finished with the cobbler, which was a nice ending to the night.

Great restaurant with good wine list and very good food. Service is very attentive. Be aware that although the selection is good, the wine is WAY overpriced---especially for glasses. They could be upwards of $27 glass. I had a glass that cost $15 and I could get the bottle outside for around $22--that's what I would call an unacceptable mark-up. Cheese/meat appetizer plate was excellent and Scallops were good. I had the French dip, where the burger was great and tasty, but the side of "cheese fries" could have been those served at a local sports bar; not up to par the TWK. A nice mix of steamed vegetables would be much better. All in all, a very good place with exquisite service

My first time here and finally, a restaurant that lives up to its menu without any hype. Sitting outside by the creek was terrific, Tuesdays is $9 night for all flights of wine--and we're talking some seriously good selections for tasting. Charcuterie board was ample, interesting and high quality (house made chicken liver pate was the best I have ever tasted), pork belly and polenta both creative (pork belly is not just bacon disguised, it's a real belly with REAL FAT!). The only slight disappointment--and mostly because everything else was so great--were tuna tacos. They were fine, just not as compelling. Can't wait to return for an actual dinner entree'.

The Wine Kitchen is a favorite of my wife and mine, particularly for special occasions. There's always something new and good on the menu, as well as both our old favorites. It might seem like a bit of a waste since I don't drink, but honestly you don't have to be a wine aficionado to have a good time at the Wine Kitchen. I suspect we'll be back again soon.

We had a great time at The Wine Kitchen. There was lots to choose from for wine, cocktails, and entrees. The food was all delicious. Though the portions were a little smaller than I'd like (for the price). That said, I gave it 5 stars. The service was fast and very responsive. Other waiters/waitresses pitched in when one got busy - without even asking. I liked that.

We chose this place for dinner prior to a show at the Weinberg. Our waiter made every effort to ensure we would get there right on time. He did a great job with the service as well as with his suggestions for both wine selection and food. The food was absolutely divine. I will definitely come again when I'm not feeling rushed to get to another event.

The food was excellent. We had the pork belly appetizer, the ribeye, and the smoked brisket special. I would order all again. The steak came with three types of sea salt in small test tubes. One was smoked and one was a special herb blend. Both added a lot of flavor. The steak was nicely charred on the outside (maybe just a little too much) and melty mid-rare in the middle. For dessert, the chocolate trifle had tons of good things going on simultaneously. The wine flights were awesome...letting us try 9 different wines throughout the night. The scotch flight was also good! The service was attentive and helpful without being pretentious.

The wait-staff took a long time to provide drink orders & provide silverware. It then took a while to place our order. They weren't busy when we arrived; they just seemed disorganized. My wife's shrimp main-course was mushy and over-cooked. The waiter brought my first two courses at the same time, even though I asked that they be brought one at a time. Since we were sitting outside on a lovely day, the second course got cold while I ate the first one. We are regulars and know a lot of the wait staff. I think this must have been the "B Team" since we didn't know either of the two working the outside tables. Everyone has an off-day. This was the Wine Kitchen's bad day. I'm sure it will be better next time. They're usually great.

From the Fried Green Tomatoes to the seasonal bread with pumpkin butter to the Pork Shoulder and Apple Mousse, the place offers truly distinct flavors and amazingly well-prepared food. Our out of town friends requested another visit to the WK and they loved it just as much this time as they did before. Add the wait service of one Jack C. and you have the perfect night out in downtown Frederick! We went here for our anniversary and we had a good experience. The food was yummy and the wine was good. My husband recommends their Bloody Mary. It was different yet delucious. The couple sitting next to us was from out of county and had never been there. They were surprised at how good the food was and that Frederick had so many good restsurants in general.

The fresh oysters were very nicely presented, but my dining partner cast aside the extra little garnishes from his share. The chicken entrée, mashed potatoes & carrots were delicious. Rack of Bore was a special and was very disappointing, the presentation was lovely but the meat was tough. Prior to ordering I questioned the server about the preparation (brined and recommended at med-rare) and stated that from past experiences I knew the meat could be on the tough side. The server spoke with the chef and assured me that the meat would not be tough due to being brined. While trying to chew the meat I began thinking about alternate ways to prepare the meat to make it more tender; maybe slow cooked for chili or stew would make it eatable.

On paper, this place looked great and is in a lovely location next to the stream in downtown Frederick. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our overall experience. We had a reservation and were seated promptly, but things went south from there. Service was slow ---we waited over 20 mins for our order to be taken. When the food finally arrived, it was tasty but the portions were small for the price, the mashed potatoes that accompanied the meat dishes were cold, and the "rare" 2009 Bordeaux we ordered from the wine list didn't taste any better than a $15 bottle of red from a liquor store.

This time we returned with our son and his wife after we had built the place up after our first visit. It was even better this time. Nice wine choices and a good selection of entrees. From the burger, which is excellent; to the pork shoulder; to the filet. All were very content with their meals. Everyone attacked the cheesy fries that were too much for my wife. Then we shared a superb desert made with pears, like an apple crisp. I'm sure we'll be back.

Great food - a bit noisy though, so not a good spot if you like a good conversation with your meal. That energy level carried through into the service such that I felt the wait staff was a little flustered at times. Wine flights are fun thing though - great way to try things beyond your usual go-to wines. We'll definitely go back, just not for an intimate dinner. (Although we were there prime time on a Saturday ... maybe it's quieter mid-week? Might be worth a try.)

Went to Wine Kitchen on advice of our bnb proprietor and were very pleased. It was our 25th anniversary and the staff was so nice about everything, even brought a celebratory free dessert. Our favorite part of the dinner were the wine flights, the funny and spot on written descriptions of each wine (the owner who writes them should be famous), and the charcuterie platter. Entrees were really good, but we found ourselves wishing we'd done more wine flights and small plates. Next time! Worth the trip from DC or Baltimore.

My wife and I visited Frederick MD for vacation and the Wine Kitchen was one of three or four recommendations of the owners of the Bed and Breakfast we stayed at. I can say it made the trip worthwhile and one of our most enjoyable nights there. Excellent service, excellent food excellent drinks.
