Great food - a bit noisy though, so not a good spot if you like a good conversation with your meal. That energy level carried through into the service such that I felt the wait staff was a little flustered at times. Wine flights are fun thing though - great way to try things beyond your usual go-to wines. We'll definitely go back, just not for an intimate dinner. (Although we were there prime time on a Saturday ... maybe it's quieter mid-week? Might be worth a try.)

Went to Wine Kitchen on advice of our bnb proprietor and were very pleased. It was our 25th anniversary and the staff was so nice about everything, even brought a celebratory free dessert. Our favorite part of the dinner were the wine flights, the funny and spot on written descriptions of each wine (the owner who writes them should be famous), and the charcuterie platter. Entrees were really good, but we found ourselves wishing we'd done more wine flights and small plates. Next time! Worth the trip from DC or Baltimore.

My wife and I visited Frederick MD for vacation and the Wine Kitchen was one of three or four recommendations of the owners of the Bed and Breakfast we stayed at. I can say it made the trip worthwhile and one of our most enjoyable nights there. Excellent service, excellent food excellent drinks.

The service we received from Will, who was knowledgeable and personable, was stupendous. The food unique, carefully prepared, and over-the-top fantastic. The "banana split" dessert was anything but ordinary. It was possibly the best flavor explosion ever! I looked over at our friend's face as he was eating the dessert and he looked like he was in heaven. I wish I could have had a picture of it! My friends commended me on my choice of The Wine Kitchen on the Creek! Magical experience!

The Wine Kitchen's menu always delivers! Their appetizers were amazing--I think the Papperdelle is my new favorite! We had the Scallops and the Peruvian Chicken and both were well prepared and just rich with flavors. I also love the Two Vintners Zinfindel wine--it's really a rich and superb wine that goes with just about any meal. The Banana Split and Strawberry Shortcake are amazing desserts--leave room for them! Only issue this time out was that our regular server was off and we had a new person who just didn't seem to have the best sense of timing. I' commented about this to the manager and hopefully this individual will improve over time. Otherwise, the Wine Kitchen on the Creek still remains a local favorite!

Lovely outdoor seating area facing the creek and flowers. The service was outstanding and they have a great brunch menu with lots of interesting choices. The food is very fresh and I liked how relaxed the atmosphere was, we never felt hurried. Great place if you like wine, as they have wine flights allowing you to taste several different wines for the price of one glass. We found this restaurant due to the Farm to Fork in Frederick weekend advertisements and are glad we traveled from Kensington for this delicious meal. We will go back!

I made a reservation for outside, stating it was our anniversary. They even called back to confirm. So far so good! Arrived, they started to show us to our indoor table. I'm like "what?" So 40 minutes later we were outside. Not the best start for 16th anniversary. Oh, well! This is a place for wine and cheese. Dinner is very limited. My husband hated his meal and his eight green beans.

We had an amazing experience at the Wine Kitchen during Frederick's Farm to Fork Restaurant event, we selected to dine from the specialized menu and were incredibly pleased by the variety of favors and the amazing selection of wines. The Charcuterie was to die for; head cheese, pate, !!!!! Matt, walked us through very aspect of the dining experience and was filling with little tidbits about the wines and food. We will return as soon as possible.

Second time my wife and I have dined there. First time was outside, this time inside. Both areas have a great feel, but when the weather is nice, outside can't be beat. I am no expert on food, but all the dishes we have had (steak, chicken, sangria, salad) are prepared very nicely and the taste is outstanding. Can't wait to try a wine or spirit flight in the future. Will definitely be back.

Loved this place. It was wonderfully romantic, service was great. My only issues were the Heirloom tomato salad had overripe tomatoes, and the flourless chocolate cake was not very chocolaty nor very tasty. I did order the tuna, but they were out and recommended wahoo...not a good substitute at all! So asked for halibut prepared the same way, then they charged me for the halibut rather than the tuna. Otherwise, it was a lovely evening.

Lunch at the Wine Kitchen offers great food--their fixed price menu is one of the best values in town! I had their Fried Green Tomatoes, Pappardella and Pork Belly. My companion had the Mac and Cheese and Steak Fries. All our food was simply excellent. The Flourless Chocolate Cake was a great ending to the perfect lunch on a nice summer day. WK is truly a great establishment, run with great care by John McCain, their General Manager. He takes great care of his customers, as does Jack, a young waiter who is polite, courteous and highly professional who is one o the best waiters in town. If you want to taste the best Frederick has to offer, head to the Wine Kitchen on the Creek!

After a lackluster dinner some months ago and despite starting with an insipid white asparagus salad, we are once again very high on the Wine Kitchen. The seared ahi on a bed of faro was perfection. The tuna had just the right amount of char -- not one second under or over cooked. Our other entree, seared halibut was also delicious and imaginatively garnished. And the banana split trifle belies its name -- since its scrumptiousness is anything but trifling!

This was the best visit yet to the Wine Kitchen. My party had great meals--the 22 ounce pork chop was amazing and one of the best things ever ordered from the place. We also had the filet and scallops. All the food was well-prepared and the wines were all delicious. The Stonetree Zinfandel was a standout bottle of wine-- a real treat. What made our evening great was John--our waiter. He was absolutely charming, polite and so helpful when one of the wine flight glasses was not to my friend's liking. He took care of us by having the manager come by with a glass of wine that turned into the bottle of Stonetree. Ask for John--he's really quite talented and charming! And the Wine Kitchen just gets better and better!

Stopping in for lunch on a weekday, I selected the two-course special. My starter was an artfully composed salad of Bibb lettuce, white asparagus, radishes, and speck (my new favorite ham). The lettuce leaves were perfectly dressed, each leaf shining with a thin, silky layer of light vinaigrette. The ham (just the perfect amount) added just the right touch of richness and salty smokiness, without overpowering. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and each bite juicy and crisp. All-in-all, a salad that satisfied and did credit to the masterful kitchen that produced it. The garden cassoulet that followed my first course was just as delicious and masterfully prepared. The Wine Kitchen is among the best dining spots in Frederick. Go!

We were seated Creek Side and had excellent service, excellent food and of course the opportunity to try excellent wines through the flights available. For meat lovers try the Cola Steak (yep-Coca Cola!) although everything is really great.

My mom and I brunch a lot, so we see many of the same dishes over and over. Wine Kitchen on the Creek offers a menu that rises above the ordinary. The WK Hangover Helper is the perfect blend of lunch and breakfast -- open faced burger, topped with a fried egg and sausage gravy, delicious! The potato cake on the menu is a nice break from the usual hash browns. Eggs are perfectly cooked, and the skirt steak my mom had (Steak and Eggs) was cooked to order, juicy and flavorful. I highly recommend the Banana Split Trifle -- AMAZING! I heard people at an adjacent table raving about the cornmeal pancakes, generously dotted with fresh blueberries, topped with just the right amount of whipped cream. The 3 for $26 brunch special is a great value!

The selection of daily oysters was prepared so differently, and requires nothing (no cocktail sauce, lemon, etc). The scallops and halibut we had were both amazing, and had a great presentation. Good was very good. Selection was excellent (menu was good size). Portions were just right. Service was a tad slow but I'm in no rush on a Saturday night. There was some confusion when I ordered the special because apparently they were sold out of the meal that our waiter explained to us. So when I got my meal, much to my surprise, it was the new special. The manager was very professional and allowed me option to enjoy the new special on the house or order something else off the menu.

The menu is set up in a way allowing you to mix and match dishes as well as the ability to taste several wines for the price of a full glass. If the weather is good, sitting outside along the creek is a beautiful way to spend a lazy weekend afternoon.
    Special Features:
fit for foodies, great for outdoor dining, great for lunch, scenic view, neighborhood gem, notable wine list
