  • "My friends and I love your restaurant, recommend highly to others Everything is always excellent!!!"

  • "Good was very good. Selection was excellent (menu was good size). Portions were just right. Service was a tad slow but I'm in no rush on a Saturday night. There was some confusion when I ordered the special because apparently they were sold out of the meal that our waiter explained to us. So when I got my meal, much to my surprise, it was the new special. The manager was very professional and allowed me option to enjoy the new special on the house or order something else off the menu."

  • "My wife and I recently returned to The Wine Kitchen for a second visit. We really like this place. The food and wine selection are excellent and the service is first rate. The menu is set up in a way allowing you to mix and match dishes as well as the ability to taste several wines for the price of a full glass. If the weather is good, sitting outside along the creek is a beautiful way to spend a lazy weekend afternoon."

  • "Reservations were flawless. The table was ready on time though we added two friends at the last moment. But the maitre d' was cooperative and cheerful and made it happen. We really appreciated the flexibility. Dinner was fantastic - and we are foodies. Truly a world class steak cooked via sous vide and finished on a grill. We ordered it medium rare but the server misheard us due to some crowd noise. She apologized profusely and the kitchen promptly delivered a medium rare (done perfectly) again with no fuss or muss. My swordfish was over the top good - bronzed perfectly and tender on the inside. Also, our request for a window seat via Open Table was missed - but again the maitre d' adjusted perfectly and professionally"

  • "Sat outside - very nice there by the creek. Food was very good - we'll be back. One question though: why can't you get get unbuttered bread. Does it come that way from the bakery?"

  • "We've never been to Fredrick much less to any restaurants in this cute little downtown area. I picked The Wine Kitchen based on reviews I read on line and thought we'd give it a try. We sat outside and had great ambiance with the scenic canal less than 20 yards away. We had our dog with us and it turns out the restaurant is very dog friendly (outdoors, of course) with water bowls placed throughout and staff offering Beau (our dog) treats. Service was outstanding. Wait staff were very attentive and made great recommendations but were not over bearing. The food was fantastic. I would highly recommend."

  • "Best wine tasting menu in the city and unlike so many other places, you have the option of choosing the ones you want to taste. We had a duck entrée that was spectacular and a lamb belly entrée that was both unique and tasty. (The volume of food resulted in both of us taking some food home with us.) Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at The Wine Kitchen. The food was delicious, nicely plated, and well portioned. Our server was friendly, efficient, and made us feel very welcome. We will most definitely return and will bring friends!!"

  • "Very pleased with this gem in Frederick, Maryland. Totally worth the visit from Gaithersburg, although plan to have a designated driver. That way you can sample the local spirits they offer on the menu!"

  • "The food was quite good although the service was a bit lacking, i.e. inattentive. I do not like hovering wait staff but this was too much in the other direction. It also took much too long for the food to be brought out considering that there were very few diners in the restaurant at that time."

  • "Recently discovered the best dining I've yet to experience in downtown Frederick. On weekends, a reservation is a must as the place is always packed! Impressive menu and unique wine selections. The visual presentation of everything served was as spectacular as it was well prepared and delicious. The ambiance is charming and welcoming, and you can't beat the view along the Carroll Creek. Appreciated the good service and not being rushed through the meal. Perfect for casual get-togethers or romantic evenings. Was so good, we came back again the same week! Cheers to an excellent, well-trained Chef."

  • "We landed at this restaurant because our normal favorite was closed on a Sunday night and we were glad we did. When first pulling up, it appears to be in an office building across from parking deck, but once you walk in, the restaurant is beautiful and sits on a gorgeous waterfront promenade in historic downtown. The menu was diverse and the food fantastic. A little bit pricy (dinner for 4 was over $300) but a great experience. The servers need to know when to filter and not go into intricate detail on every menu item and to allow their guests to enjoy their time. We tried several things on the menu and everything was terrific. The beet salad was one of the best things I have ever tasted!"

  • "We've been dining at Wine Kitchen since they first opened. The kitchen continues to deliver very impressive food. WK is not Volt, but it is the closest you can get in Frederick County. There are several fine restaurants in Frederick, but nobody else is turning out food like this. The menu is seasonal which means you never can get tired of the food. We do miss the tuna tartare though. The 2/$19, 3/$23 fix prixe options for lunch are a bargain."

  • "Love the Wine Kitchen Brunch!! Food was awesome!!"

  • "Make no mistake; if you want great food and terrific service served up in a vibrant downtown Frederick scene, you can't miss The Wine Kitchen on the Creek. However, with that said, you need to eat something before you go because the portion sizes are tiny and the costs are high. If this is not an issue with you, have a great time! I guarantee you won't be disappointed. If you are "value" conscious, this restaurant will please your taste buds but may leave you feeling you paid alot to leave hungry! Again, quality and service is impeccable; value for your money is definitely in the eyes of the beholder BUT if you are new to this restaurant (as I was) go in knowing in with your eyes open."

  • "We sat outside for a delicious lunch and it couldn't have been better. The service was great, and we are still talking about the food weeks later. Next time we are in Frederick, this place will be on our to-do list again."

  • "We love The Wine Kitchen! It is definitely a restaurant to add to your rotation, if you have not done so already! Great food, and the service is delightful!"

  • "We keep coming back all the way from DC! Inventive, really tasty food, wine and spirit flights have many choices. Must have an English major writing the blurbs for the flights, love reading them. Eating outside is quiet and lively at the same time. Love the creek, people watching, doggy friends, and tree lined ambiance."

  • "The food at the Wine Kitchen is good. If you manage to get a table on the patio one will have a pleasant meal. If you must eat inside it is not a warm and well designed dining area. The bar dominates this place, as does the fireplace area. Otherwise, it is just so so. Additionally, the portions are very small. We ordered the Tuna Tacos which were delicious however, it needs to be listed a bite-size or demitasse. Having eaten around the world from Vienna to Venice to London to Paris, {in many fine restaurants} the Kitchen is an average place and a rather pretentious one. If you are in Frederick, I'd check out other fine restaurants on Market Street. Yes, the Kitchen is in the new trendy area but it is not worth it. Sherlock!"

  • "theIr Slogan Says Good Food Somply, I Believe. It Is No Lie. Even A Simple Charcuterie Plate Was To Die For. The Service Was Well Paced. The Menu Had Something For Every Foodie Out There. We Had Brunch And I So Want To Return To Enjoy A Flight."

  • "I have been to the Wine Kitchen several times for business and personal lunches and dinners and have never been disappointed. The food and service are both excellent. On a nice day, you can sit outside and enjoy the very nice atmosphere of Carol Creek. Parking is convenient nearby in the parking garage near the Frederick Library."

  • "We had an amazing experience. The friendly wait staff worked as a team, and were very attentive; it was a pleasure to be served by them. The food was amazing. My wife had the mussels, which were great, in a broth with coconut milk & thai chiles. I started w/carrot ginger soup–delicate and delicious, and then we split the Tuna Tartar "tacos"...amazing little bites of tiny taco goodness, w/avocado lime mousse; I kept chewing them the flavor was so good. Then we both had the duck sausage salad that was on special. The Chef makes all these sausages by hand, and you can tell. I am neither a salad nor a sausage person, but this dish had me raving the rest of the night. I finished w/the lamb belly, which was out of this world flavorful."

  • "Wine Kitchen has very pleasant location on walkway along creek that really looks more like a very long koi pond. Lots of pleasant people watching but still feels private. The service was great and the food was good."

  • "We went here to celebrate our anniversary and could not have chosen a better location. Everything was wonderful, the food, service, etc... We were looking for something different in Frederick and we definitely found it. It is pricey so expect to open that wallet pretty wide but for something special it was worth it. My husband got the duck and I the boar - both were excellent. Mash potatoes came with my meal and I've never tasted any as wonderful as those. I was raving about them and my husband couldn't believe mash potatoes were worthy of such marvelous comments until he tasted them. I don't know what it is they do to them but wow, I'd go back just for a dish of those. Give this place one try & you'll be back."

  • "Once again we found our way to The Wine Kitchen in Frederick, this time for a Father's Day brunch. Service has always been great, we had Sarah, a transplant from LA. What a delight! Now to the food. We started with Mac & Cheese and Tuna Tartar Taco's. Both were full of flavor and rich. The Tuna was especially creative in its presentation and use of ingredients. We both had the quiche, which was a bacon, cheddar and onion delight, as always, creamy and light. A meal would not be complete with the Sausage Gravy Fries... magnificent! We will be back again soon, with friends."

  • "This was the 3rd or 4th time we have met another couple for lunch at The Wine Kitchen. We have always enjoyed the food, the service and the wine selection. I love knowing such a quality place is available for lunch. I also really appreciate the fact that reservations can be made online!"

  • "Four if us gathered at the WKOTC for a first time taste of their brunch. Despite the smaller portions the food and drinks were thoughtfully prepared and the server was attentive and informative."
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "The entree portions were small. The seared ahi was basically four 1-inch cubes and the oysters were the smallest I've ever had. For $28 I expected a larger piece of fish. No bread or crackers served along with wine flights. The wine was nice, the service was good however the food was not what we had hoped for. I would not return for the food but would come back for drinks. Lots of potential. "

  • "I came here with my other son two nights ago after having been here with my older son who is a big traveler and foodie critic. He loved this place- we all did! I had the Peruvian chicken. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Lived the kale and plantains. My son had the duck and thought it was the best he's had! Fantastic!"

  • "Only been here once when on a business trip in Frederick. Could not wait to come back. Was very pleased to see Tuesday night was flight night for $9. Everything was nearly perfect on this trip (last time all 5 stars)! Being by myself, I decided to sit at the bar. To my surprise when I sat down with enthusiasm to be back, I asked for a menu and was told by the bartender, just one minute. I was shocked! It dampened my excited. In fact, many other employees came by the bar and were extremely pleasant and checking on me (hence why service was not a 1). He had no personality at all and never seemed to engage customers. I was at odds interacting and or asking questions. Could not wait for anyone else to swing by! Food 10, bartender 1!"

  • "Very memorable, especially the fantastic food and outdoor setting. All 4 of us practically licked every plate-the food was so outstanding. Even the coffee-everyone gets their own French Press pot with super fresh full bodied coffee. Every detail, every bite, outstanding. The service started out a bit rude, but warmed as time went by and ended up very well."

  • "Overall, a pleasant experience. A touch pricey and the waiter was a trying to be a bit too chatty with my date. We really didn't need to know that he had been working 6 days straight."

  • "We chose to dine outside, as inside was rather noisy. It was beautiful evening around 6pm on a Saturday night. My husband ordered the scallops and I ordered the 10 oz. sirloin. Both were delicious!! We started with a glass of wine...I had Pinot Grigio and he chose a local merlot. The wine came with a fun description card that made you realize the flavors in every descriptive detail of the wine. That was fun! I highly recommend the Wine Kitchen!"
