  • "This restaurant is in a wonderful location in downtown Frederick. The food, service and wine is amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Good wine list Some interesting appetizers but portions small for the price"

  • "Always blown away by the service and food here. Tuna taco apps were great,"

  • "We made reservations online and requested an outdoor table. Unfortunately they don't accept reservations for outside. It would be nice if there were a way to receive a response after the reservation was made. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside after a 15 minute wait. Food was excellent as was the service accept for an entree change (before he left the table taking orders) for the recommended daily special. However, the waiter neglected to write it down and the original order was received. Wine flight selections were great, food was fresh and served at the perfect temp. Great place hang with friends and sip wine while enjoying the outside views along Carroll Creek."

  • "My birthday is right around Valentine's Day, so I am always looking forward to a good meal out. This year, we went to Wine Kitchen on the Creek and had a great time. We were both pleased with our dishes (scallops and duck) and the portions were just perfect! Our server was also very easy to talk to and truly enjoys her job. My only complaint is that we were sitting SO CLOSE to another couple that it was hard to hear my own converastion over their conversation. I am finding this to be a pet peeve of mine when it comes to dining out and is definitely not a problem that is unique to this restaurant!"

  • "This is a fun restaurant for oenophiles and foodies alike. They offer flights, not only of wine, but of scotch, too, which was perfect for my scotch-drinking husband and myself. The food was excellent and presentation superb. We started with a cheese platter, then entrees and ended with dessert, which was the weakest course of the night. All in all, I can't wait to go back! Delish!"

  • "This was my second experience dining at the Wine Kitchen. The occasion was a birthday gift for a family friend who doesn't get to dine out at upscale restaurants very often. She was blown away by the food and the scenic view. The only wrinkle was that the salt and pepper curiously did not appear on any of the tables. We had to ask for it. We both found this very odd but it didn't detract from an otherwise delightful experience. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. I'm looking forward to brunching on the patio when the weather gets better."

  • "We had an early dinner on Saturday and really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was wonderful. The wine tasting was nice and we even took advantage of tasting the rye whiskey, which we didn't really care for, but it allowed us the opportunity to taste without having to go all the way to Purceville to visit the distillery. It was a little noisy by the end of the dinner when the restaurant really filled up. Would love to try to private room or the big table in the back with some friends."

  • "Great food (I usually make a meal just from the cheese and meat board) and AMAZING wine! Try the "G"... you won't regret it :)"

  • "What a gem this restaurant is! Excellent in every respect; the food, the service, the setting. The wine flights (three 2 oz. glasses) were a great way to try several very good wines, all perfectly paired (tripled?) The food was simply prepared, yet beautifully presented and the service was five star. A return trip is definitely warranted."

  • "Selections for brunch are wide enough to satisfy those seeking traditional offerings , but luckily also include options for those whose tastes include oysters, special drinks and beautiful desserts for brunch. Satisfaction all around."

  • "The views are great with store front windows overlooking the creek. The brunch deal was a value for the portions. I really enjoyed the baby beet salad. The service made the experience. Very friendly and attentive server that was knowledgeable on the menu. I will definitely return with friends for brunch or to explore the available wines."

  • "This was our first trip and the food was good but we're from Northern VA and I don't think I would drive that far again for this place. The Tuna Tartare and marinated olives were great. The pork belly was also very good but the Parpadelle pasta, Mac & Cheese and Philly fries were just OK. The duck (my friend had) was very good but the Boar (hubby had this) was just OK. The atmosphere was fantastic, although if you don't know where you're going (and it's a rainy night) you might not ever find this place! Overall, hit and misses but a cool place to meet up with friends or a romantic dinner. I saw outdoor seating and I bet it would be a great place during the summer to have wine and apps outdoors."

  • "My folks and I took my fiancee here for dinner. Everything about the evening went perfectly. The food was spectacular, the wine was amazing and the ambiance was fantastic. Our server was always attentive and gave us good advice on food and wine selections. The only (extremely minor) complaint was that being located on a pedestrian canal it's a little hard to find by car. But that did nothing to detract from the evening. Five stars all the way."

  • "Took wife for bday. Had the cheese plate, tuna, scallops, and beef. Wine pairings were very good. Server very accurately described wines and made sure they fit our palette. Would come back again."

  • "We were impressed with the "digs", the design very eclectic and well done and very comfortable spacing of the tables. We started with a very good Chardonnay (Paul Hobbs, Russian river). We selected their 3 for $26 special. All of our selections were good. Most notable were the Quiche, the Fries with Sausage Gravy and the Maryland Benedict. My wife and I agreed that we had never encountered a Quiche that was incredibly fluffy and light and pack such wonderful flavor. Then to the worlds greatest Fries with Sausage Gravy....a portion that was perfectly sized if you don't want to over eat, My wife and I shared them. The Maryland Benedict was equally as good and perfectly done. We had such a great time at a great find of a restaurant"

  • "Squid black ink pasta was impeccable with swordfish meatballs and confit tomatoes. The suggested wine pairing was perfect, and our service was phenomenal. Not much more we could have asked for on a busy Friday night after a long work week. We love this place."

  • "I found The Wine Kitchen on the Creek on Tripadvisor and it sounded like a place my husband and I would like. We were not disappointed. The wine choices were excellent and the food truly scrumptious. We will definitely stop back when we are in the area again."

  • "Our dinner was amazing. The pork belly appetizer was very good as was my husband's sirloin steak. He us extremely picky about steak and he compared this one To his favorite steak house in Las Vegas. My duck breast was incredible ! Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu. The wine blights were a great way to try a variety of wines. The wine prices were reasonable, with the added Incentive of 10.00 off bottles purchased to take home . We are looking forward to Our next visit!"

  • "It was not what I was expecting. Reading the reviews I was thinking it was more like a bar with great food after reading comments about the size, noise etc. That would have been fine and I"m sure the jeans I was thinking about wearing would have been OK although most were in nice clothes. But this was not a bar, it was a high end restaurant right on the creek, tremendous location and view. Food was great, I got the mussels in a Thai spice mix that was really good. Everyone was happy with their dish, the only complaint was the scallops had only 3 to an order, which unfortunately is pretty typical. It was not cheap, especially with a $50 bottle of wine, but it was really good."

  • "First time at Wine Kitchen and it was a very nice experience, but very expensive. We were not rushed, wine choices were great and the food was elegant and tasty, some not what I expected."

  • "Found this place thanks to Restaurant Week promotion, and I'll be back. Would have given 4.5 rather than 4 stars overall if I could. The missing star is because the burger in my WK Hangover was overcooked. Still tasty enough, though. The flexibility of putting together the menu items, drinks, starrters, mains, desserts is great. Next time I would, do what the table next door did: have the corn pancakes for dessert! Lovely and lively waitress. Outstanding salads. Go!"

  • "..........as usual. Pork loin special paired with the Cotes du Ventoux was a match made in heaven - out of this world. Our server, Scott, was professional, courteous and a representation of what service and hospitality should be at any restaurant."

  • "In downtown Frederick this restaurant offers the best of the best in terms of a cozy, rustic ambiance, super-friendly servers, and a menu with enough variety to satisfy everyone's palate."

  • "It is unusual for our family to go to Frederick to dine out, but since it was Restaurant Week, we decided to drive and try something new. I chose Wine Kitchen based on their RW menu which offered a large variety and supplemental options as well. I was lucky to get a reservation on Open Table for the final day. We tried many different things ranging from pork belly to duck breast to wahoo. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. There is a good variety of affordable wines available by the bottle, glass, or mix-and-match flights which was a perfect option for us. I liked the little cards that came with the flight selections. We will definitely be driving to Frederick when the weather warms up to dine outside on the creek(?)."

  • "Happy to have visited the Wine Kitchen during restaurant week in Frederick. A three course meal - scrumptious in all parts! Plenty to choose from - all winners. Beet salad, mac&cheese, tuna tartare, mex blt, burger, chick sandwich, chick salad, steak salad. All hits. The banana split trifle was outstanding!"

  • "We're big fans of this restaurant, and ti was a great choice for restaurant week. Our wine flights were nicely paired and the descriptions are very funny (and accurate!) The wait staff was very attentive. Ours meals were delicious (pork belly and mussels for the starters, and then wild boar and Peruvian chicken for our entrees.) While I thought the dessert section was fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed my chocolate three ways, my husband wished there were less sweet options and actually opted not to get dessert. Very good food, very good wine and espresso, very good service. We had a wonderful night out at the Wine Kitchen."

  • "My appetizer, tuna tartar, was not very flavorful. My wife felt her filet was average. I thought the scallops were excellent. The waitress was nice but a little ditzy. Seated VERY close to other tables. Noise was high. They were out of at least 3 items. The wine selection was excellent and generally moderately priced. Overall very good, but food needs a just little improvement."

  • "Dined at the Wine Kitchen during Restaurant Week. Excellent choices for each course for a value of 30.14. Service was outstanding. Attention to detail. Liked the water bottles on each table. (I drink lots of water and it was nice to have it readily available to refill my glass instead of waiting for the waitstaff). I had visited this restaurant before but my husband had not. He is now a convert and wants to return in the future. Want to try the happy hour at this establishment."

  • "Never having been to The Wine Kitchen on the Creek we chose it for restaurant week. The food portions were small but perfect for us because we were sated and the food and presentIon was wonderful. The staff was friendly and service was impeccable"

  • "I have dined at The Wine Kitchen several times and from the starter to dessert everything is absolutely fantastic. Typically when I find something I like on the menu I order the same thing over and over, but I always order something different because the food is so good I want to try it ALL! My favorite place to dine in Frederick."

  • "Had an absolutely fabulous lunch during Frederick Restaurant Week. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back !!"

  • "Our food was FANTASTIC. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable the food was. The pork belly starter and the Duck Breast entree were stand-outs that were prepared perfectly and served fresh. However wonderful the food put out by the kitchen was, though... the timeliness left a lot to be desired. We were seated at 6:45pm, our drink orders were taken and delivered promptly, but when it came to the food, we waited... and waited... Three courses (for Frederick Restaurant Week) took us three hours. As first time customers, we enjoyed the food so much that we will consider returning, but the kitchen can't keep up with the full house that Frederick Restaurant Week seemed to bring, so we will try an off-peak visit if there's a next time."

  • "I have been to this restaurant 3 times and have enjoyed the food and the atmosphere each time. The food delicious but, small portions. The service was good but rather slow, which isn't always a bad thing if you plan on spending lots of time there! Make reservations and you will be happier."

  • "The numerous brunch selections have their own twist, like "Irish Eggs Benedict" (with corned beef) and "Corn pancakes" (with huckleberries). The food was simply delicious, prepared with obvious care but not gussied up. Our waiter helped make the experience memorable. We look forward to returning to this inviting, relaxed venue."

  • "Our 16th anniversary dinner for two at WK exceeded our 15th's in Sausalito, CA., which we didn't think possible. Our 15th was in a resort at the foot of the Golden Gate with a 5 star rating, every bit as great as advertised. We stayed home this year and chose WK because past experience told us it would meet our high expectations. The Wine Kitchen food and service were perfect and the rest was just icing on a many splendored cake. The cheese tray with wine samples was a great starter and we were still laughing and enjoying the wine descriptions through dessert. Beginning to end was a great experience and we would highly recommend Wine Kitchen to couple's or groups."

  • "On this our third visit to the Wine Kitchen, the vegetable cassoulet was satisfying beyond expectations, but it was the meltingly tender short ribs and the superb Primal Reds sampling that sent our taste buds home singing. We never imagined that a restaurant requiring a 35 minute drive up 270 would work its way so decisively into our hearts."
