Love the outdoor dining for a larger party. The server we had was experienced, friendly, and knowledgable. She made the evening so much less complicated than large-group dining can be! The menu offers a wide variety of food-types and price-range to meet anyone's needs or desires.

I was really excited to eat there & then quickly deflated when I started to eat. The food was not "polished." The veggies were frozen & not fresh. They were not even cooked properly. My pasta had so much water in it, it looked like soup. The waitress said, "That's how it is made" to just about everything we asked about. In other words, "Back off." Our waitress started out very delightful but by the end of the meal, I was sure my food was no longer "Safe" when it came from the kitchen. At the end of my meal, I decided that this place was for people to drink, hook up and relax in their own neighborhood. Not really a place to enjoy a good meal with a glass of wine. In the restaurant's defense, the manager offered us a dessert and apologized.

We keep on coming back to the Wine Exchange because it is in our neighborhood and they have a very pleasant patio that is pet friendly. They have an excellent wine selection and great cocktails, but the food has proven mediocre. We’ve tried several things on the menu, but have yet to find a dish worth repeating. That being said, the menu is diverse and good for group dining.

I made my reservation through Open Table about 40 minutes before showing up to the restaurant. Upon checking in with the hostess, she said "oh some of these people called before you did" and then proceeded to make my party wait for 15 minutes before seating us. If the Wine Exchange posts availability to the Open Table website, they should honor it. I don't know what she was talking about when she implied we had just called them on the phone. It was weird and rude. But the food is good and it is close to my home, so I will be back.

There was 10 in our group. Took 30 minutes after being seated to get our drinks Our appetizers were delicious but salads were delivered 5 minutes after Once Our dinners finally arrived they were cold. My fish was dried out and my mashed Potatoes you could cut with a fork. I may drop in for a glass of wine but I won't be rushing back for dinner.

First- the positives. They have excellent bread and hummus. I like their wine tasting option. We sat outside on a beautiful evening. The negatives? The sides they place on the plates with the meals are quite odd. I had a salmon with bread crumbs and dijon mustard (could have left both off since the fish was good by itself) and mashed potatoes with peas and blue cheese it in. Very odd.. and cold. My husband had a seared tuna steak with the same potatoes. Didn't go together well at all. I would always be back for the wine, bread and hummus though!

Nice location in the heart of Hyde Park. There is nothing too memorable about the menu or the food but it was a reasonably priced meal in a good spot. Wine list is not huge but is quality and not overly expensive. Apps were just OK and my steak was overcooked by at least one and closer to two temps. Servers were very friendly.

Outdoor patio atmosphere is great...appetizers wonderful...Brie plate with wine is amazing!! (Exception is the soups which are usually too salty) Salads are excellent and so are main dishes. Yummy deserts...good wine etc.
