  • "We celebrated our anniversary with an excellent dinner at the Wildflower. It was a beautiful summer night so we sat out on the patio by the waterfall and enjoyed our favourite dish - Cioppino. The meal, wine and patio were all fabulous."

  • "We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary for dinner and the Wildflower and staff made it a memorable one."

  • "We were met by very friendly staff, seated outside on a gorgeous sunny day. There are outdoor heaters to keep the diners cozy. Our hostess told us our servers name and wished us a great dinner. Our server came over, introduced herself, gave us the menus and explained the second menu, which has gluten free, macrobiotic, vegan, and other options. She then proceeded to give us a few moments and returned with some water. Service was efficient, timely, professional, and friendly. We had the buffalo mozzarella appie which was delicious. Our main entre's were beautifully presented, delicious, and filling. We were deciding on dessert to share so we asked our server. Dessert was delicious, the chocolate sundae with PB ice cream was amazing!!"

  • "We visited The Wildflower for dinner in June 2014 and were blown away by the level of service. Our server was fantastic (I believe his name was Dale). He was very knowledgable on all menu items and very polite and professional. He made great suggestions that we were very pleased with. He took the time to ask where we were visiting from and chat about our home town. They were also very accommodating to our 8 month old son. The food was exceptional and well worth the price. We left feeling very satisfied and would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "We have been dining here for years, but this was our best western (non ethnic) food experience in a long time. The new menu is delicious; everyone agreed that all our dishes were superbly prepared. The BC red wine selection is excellent. We highly recommend the halibut and the elk medalions served with savory bread pudding. The meritage church & state red worked perfectly with both. The ambiance is lovely and relaxed and we love their new upholstered chairs. Our party of seven all agreed five stars for sure!"

  • "Our party of 4 ate here twice during the week, the other places were ate at were Ciao-Thyme and 21 Steps. The food here was better than both, not one bad meal or dish. Nice and large, quiet, you can actually have a conversation without raising your voice. Large windows for those who like a view outside. Service was pretty good. You can also ask for and order off of the Grill Room menu. if you ask for the Grill Room menu you get a Grill Room waiter, who are definitely more experienced."

  • "A window side view of the snow falling starts off the evening. Our host took the time to call us prior to our arrival to ask us if we had any special dietary needs. As we were seated, we were presented with a regular menu as well as a health smart menu. Our server, Audrey, was so personable and attentive. Menu was varied and all very good. Meals were well prepared and presented. Everything was truly enjoyable and what was an ordinary night for dinner was made extraordinary."

  • "No vegetables with main item and veggies Very costly. My steak was 6/10 only warm and somewhat tough. Waiter was extraordinary. Wine very over priced. Had the feeling I was in Switzerland"

  • "We chose this restaurant for our last meal in Whistler with friends. We had Elk Medallions, red wine risotto, macaroni and cheese and for dessert white chocolate cheesecake and date cake. The risotto was as previously reviewed, excellent. The elk medallions were tasty but a bit tough (requested med rare by us). Macaroni and cheese was delicious. We paired with a red wine. Service was prompt and polite. I would recommend this restaurant to friends."

  • "We enjoyed our dining experience at the Wildflower. The food was excellent and we would return to dine again at the Wildflower. Unfortunately our table was in an higher traffic area with other patrons passing by quite often. Another time we would request a table near the windows (where we have been seated on previous visits)."

  • "Excellent service. Interesting menu. Well prepared and presented. Good wine list."

  • "We ended up waiting for our waiter multiple times throughout the night. He was inattentive - we often didn't see him for long periods of time, most notably the period between him clearing the main course and bringing us dessert menus (30 mins) Food was fair - party ordered gnocchi, elk, risotto, and pappardelle. Gnocchi needed a stronger sauce. Risotto tasted heavily of red wine. Elk and pappardelle were both okay, but not anything special. We will not be returning in the future."

  • "We had guests from out-of-country staying in Whistler and we drove up from Vancouver for dinner and the Wildflower did not disappoint. The Seafood Platter for two was plentiful and delicious for the four of us as an appetizer, and when asked, the waitress got us menus from the Grill Room! We ordered steaks and sides off that menu. Great grilled steaks and the truffled mashed potatoes were amazing."

  • "Loved the food and overall atmosphere. The only drawback was that our server was too busy and we had to wait for her to come over to take our orders/bring the bill."

  • "The Wildflower restaurant has many things going for it - nice setting, good ambience, good food. It's great if your like to converse with your friends - no need to raise your voice or strain to hear anyone. Our starters - prawns and a house salad - were both excellent. For our entrees, we had seafood dishes - trout and halibut. Both were perfectly prepared and quite tasty. The one area we were extremely disappointed was the service. There was a 35 minute wait from the time we finished our starters till the entrees arrived. And that was only after questioning our waitress on what was going on. Perhaps a fluke bad night for service but it definitely spoiled an otherwise good evening."

  • "My boyfriend and I were excited to try The Wildflower for our celebratory dinner after the Gran Fondo. The appetizer that my boyfriend seemed to come out as soon as it was ordered, which was a bit surprising but that was fine, but then when our entrees showed up about 7 minutes later, before the appetizer was finished and way before we were ready for them. We felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant and it did not allow us to have a relaxing dining experience. Overall the food and service were good-not great."

  • "Good food, decent portions. Drinks seemed unreasonably expensive"

  • "We had a wonderful evening, great food, fantastic service. Everything is "pricey" in Whistler, but it doesn't matter when you are completely satisfied with everything!"

  • "Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and accurate. Food is great but my favourite is dining on the patio!"
    Dined on 8/24/2013
  • "Great place with variety of food choices and lifestyle choices if you have dietary concerns."
    Dined on 8/16/2013
  • "I had the prime rib dinner and the beef was melt in your mouth tender! However, surprisingly, the green beans were the complete opposite - very disappointing"

  • "We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Wildflower and were very pleased with the people and the food."
    Dined on 6/26/2013
  • "When we arrived we originally thought we needed additional people. The restaurant was very accommodating and easily added more seating. However, the food and service was VERY slow as we ended up being at the restaurant for a very long time. Our first drinks took forever, our meals took forever, and the bill took forever. Additionally some of the food was cooked incorrectly. Just not what you expect from a restaurant in a higher end hotel."

  • "Perhaps the best prime rib I have had in a long time!"

  • "We went to Wildflower for my GF's birthday dinner, and were Royally treated! From our cocktails in the Mallard Lounge, right through our seating, menu presentation, et al... and great service unobtrusive - what more could you as for? As well, my GF is gluten intolerant, and every opportunity was taken to address the issue, suggest menu options, and even alternatives. So thanks a million Wildflower! You made a surprise birthday dinner most memorable for everyone. We will be back..."

  • "Excellent in all respects. This is a sophisticated restaurant in a beautiful hotel at Whistler. I would return on every trip to Whistler. Michael"

  • "Impeccable service, fabulous food. Would highly recommend this restaurant for brunch if you can afford the hefty price tag. I was a bit shocked when the bill came as the price I was charged was $13 per person above the advertised rate on their online menu!! Our waiter was attentive and courteous and the food was not only beautiful to look at, but of excellent quality and taste."

  • "We have eaten here on previous visits but were disappointed this time. The Dungeness crab cake looked a bit sad on its own but had a good crab content. The prime rib was excellent - melted in the mouth and beautifully seasoned. Amongst the mixed veg there were some lovely sweet carrots but the roast potatoes were over cooked and greasy. The desserts were pretty much restricted to a selection of cakes which were displayed by the entrance and were more suited to a tearoom than a restaurant. Well at least that saved a few 100 calories. What disappointed us most was the service which was intrusive and seemed insincere."

  • "The dining experience was spoiled at the end of the evening when they refused to accept DEBIT payment. I cann't believe it Fairmont Chateau Whislter can't afford DEBIT. We left a complaint and talked to the Manager who told us it was a Corporate decision. We won't be going to a Fairmont unless we know in advance that they accept DEBIT."

  • "Actually the food was not very good. Portions were too small for hungry skiers. My fish was deep fried and stale."
    Dined on 1/13/2013
  • "The service and setting far outdistanced the food. The prime Rib was under done (the medium rare, still"pulsating", and the roasted potatoes too salty to eat) The deliciously looking desserts where just that, .....deliciously looking."

  • "Beautiful room. Food is ok but expected a bit better. Cost is a bit high but expected at a nice hotel like the Chateau. Maybe we had a bad night."

  • "We had a lovely dinner in a warm and comfortable setting. We looked out at a lit patio surrounded by snow, staff serving hot chocolate, someone playing a guitar( we could not hear it). Truly a winter wonderland. A very pleasant server. Thank you."

  • "The quinoa risotto was flavourless and dry. A disappointment. The other meals were satisfactory but not exceptional given the price. We will not return."

  • "Food was mediocre and way too expensive for the quality/taste and service. My husband ordered salmon and was overcooked and dry. We expressed our concern for which we received a cold apology. Service was fair. Atmosphere was relaxing and the decor was welcoming. We will not be going back."
