The Wild Orchid CafeUnexpected DelightThe food was great! The service was a little slow but I'll say it was worth the wait. Our waiter was way to chatty with the table near us which may have been the reason for the slowed service. I made a point of not engaging him in too much conversation so as not to delay our food any longer than necessary. All in all, a great experience and my Mom really enjoyed herself.
One suggestion for the restaurant is for better signage directing patrons to the parking garage. It's a little confusing driving around that Circle trying to figure out where to park.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Mother's Day andWe went for Mother's Day and the food was great. My mother totally enjoyed it. We all cleaned our plates. This is my third time. My sister particularly enjoyed the old jazz vocals (Billie Holiday, Etta James) playing softly in the background. Really enjoyable afternoon.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for pre- or post-performGreat spot for pre- or post-performance dinner - it's an easy walk to/from Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Mother's Day lunch on SatStarting with the Oysters Rockerfeller and Butternut Squash Soup, we got off to a great start. The mussels were excellent also. We enjoyed the fresh warm bread that kept being delivered during our meal. No one was disappointed with their lunch selection. The lump cake meat crab cakes on the platter and in the sandwich were the best any of us had ever had. The sweet pea ravioli was a big hit. The salmon quiche was delicious. The gyro was also great. We had enjoyed the food so much that we didn't have room for dessert, but we are sure the desserts would have been excellent also.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSo AnnapolisThe wild orchid exudes the Annapolis culture. A little eclectic, very nice, very annapolis5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery quiet, romantic atmosphere.Very quiet, romantic atmosphere. The service and food were great! A restaurant for all occasions.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch with classI could enjoy lunch at Wild Orchid for the Wild Orchid salad alone! A very reasonably priced entree-size salad with a delightful mix a flavors, thanks to the fresh strawberries and Danish bleu cheese. Their butternut squash soup with crabmeat is a trade mark offering that can't be missed. The lunch menu provides ample variety for al palettes, with prices that still keep a very classy lunch under $20.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, sterile ambienceFood was good and very fresh, but ambience was a bit sterile.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday get togetherI had a most delightful culinary and service experience when we went to the Wild Orchid. Our server Tatiana, was amazing and gave great advice. Started with Wild Orchid Martini...tasty with chambord. Also, had a lovely pork loin and our gluten free friend had a fantastic, flour less chocolate cake. Overall a great experience.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLast-minute findWe were looking for a new place to try, and I was intrigued by the "locavore" philosophy that appears to be foundational here. Our first experience was very positive. We were able to find same-day reservations for the time that suited us, and we were seated right away. Mark was knowledgable about the menu and wines, and took excellent care of us. The butternut squash soup was nice and thick, but a bit unevenly heated. Our salads were quite tasty, with fresh dressings, though the lettuce seemed a bit past its prime. The beef filet was perfectly cooked, and the pork tenderloin was absolutely delicious. The chocolate torte was wonderful, but the hardened mousse on top was pointless. Good coffee and Scotch whiskey were the perfect finish.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time eating at theSecond time eating at the Wild Orchid and it's one of my favorite places. The oyster appetizer with bacon is my number 1 choice. For entrees I recommend the scallops, the pork loin and the braised short ribs (the ribs are a larger serving compared to the other two).4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of five. TheWe had a party of five. The waiter was very helpful and attentive and made us feel very comfortable. The food was delicious and we had a very enjoyable evening.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI would have given everythingI would have given everything an outstanding rating except for the fact that they ran out of the item on the menu that I specifically went there for. We were there for our anniversary, a very romantic setting for a special occasion.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back!!My daughter and I wanted somewhere special for Easter dinner and boy did we find it!!!
We were a party of 3 and we had a great time. Everything was on point the food was hot when it arrived and it did not take long either.
Price was great too. It was well worth the drive from Silver Sping. Everything on the menu for the night was delicious and we got a taste of the scalloped potatoes - oh la la. We are going back just for that:)3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGo for it! You will enjoy it all...This was our second time that we had dinner at wild orchid. Food was really good and our waiter was nice and accommodating. We would love to go back there with our friends from Baltimore. We have almost tried most of the restaurants in downtown Annapolis. Wild Orchid stands amongst the top ones.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to the "new" Wild Orchid after a number of disappointing visits at their old location--food OK, but not to us worth the price. We were absolutely delighted with our 20th anniversary evening. Food was delicious, service good especially considering there were only two servers on duty. We will definitely be back for another special occasion.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA must restaurant for AnnapolisA must restaurant for Annapolis locavores - one of the few establishments where I will eat pork products - due to the inhumane treat of the pigs in this country.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
